I know all of you have already welcomed us home more than once but I just had to share my excitement!

I just made our first reservation with points! We closed last week, got the ID# yesterday and booked today.

We're going December 1 through 9. One day at Universal's IOA (my daughter loves the Grinch!), 4 nights at the Grand Floridian (we would NEVER have stayed here if it weren't for points!!), and then a 3 night cruise, category 6 (we would have booked category 11 if it weren't for points!!)

We figured this was the time to stay at the GF and category 6 while our DD's were 2 and 5 years old and we had some extra points. Also, I figured BWV (home) would be booked up the first week of December anyway.

My daughter got to see check out the GF last trip (December 2000) and also saw Alice there and it was her first choice for our next trip.

I can't contain my excitement and you were the only ones who would understand! :) ;) :)

I'm about 80 days away from our 2nd trip. It seems like ages ago when I booked (in June). I'm also obsessed with my next trip in October 2002 already - trying to book for some family members to join us. It seems strange planning so far in advance, but it helps somehow. ;)

I know what you mean! We got back from 10 days at OKW on December 13th. I have been planning next three years ever since then!! I had to do some way ahead planning because of a committment to family and friends for 2004 in WDW. I need to have enough points for that plus our trips between now and then. I finally got it done, and next week I get to call member services to make next January's ressie! Amazing how we let this get us through a long winter! :D

I've always dreamed of staying at GF at Christmas time, the resort is decorated so beautiful. Have a great time!

Congratulations!! Was the whole trip including the cruise paid for by points? That's great! I figured that even staying at the other Disney resorts on points (during low point season) saves about half from regular rate... so the GF isn't really as expensive as one might think!!!

You're right now comes the waiting part, which I'm not too good at! But I still will have some arrangements to make. PS ressies and the hotel at IOA, MVMCP tickets, airfare, car. So, that will keep me a little busy till December!

Yes, this was all with points (except the $75 charge). 104 points for GF (4 nights) and the 3-day cruise (cat. 6 for 2 adults, one child, and one infant) was 258 which totals 362. We had an extra 119 points from 2000 and then used 2001 and borrowed 73 from 2002 which is fine because we will probably go every 2 years and we probably won't be doing the cruise next time.
