Hi everyone,

We just got back from WDW on Thursday. The kids and I had a great time. We saw just about everything. We used fastpass quite a bit and never waited for more than 10 minutes for a ride. We stayed at Pop and we loved it. Didn't hear much noise. We were in the 70's and had a very short walk to the busses and the food court. We did EMH at night at the MK (awesome). We went to Donald's breakfast at AK and did the Fantasmic dinner package. We saw Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic, and SpectroMagic. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I took 450+ pictures but I have to figure out how to put them on here. The weather was good. We had one rainy day at MGM the first day we were there but it made for short lines and we still had a great day. I am already planning and saving for a trip next February. :earsboy:

Glad you are back safe and sound. Did you attend an early Fantasmic or the 2nd one?

Nice to see you had a great time.....I am definitely thinking about POP for my next WDW trip.....Let,s hope the whole family agrees!

Can't wait to see your pictures, were you on the dining plan? if so, how was it?

There was only one Fantasmic on the night that we went at 7 p.m. We used a code to book the room and bought the MYW tickets separately so we didn't do a dining plan. I didn't bring any food and our luggage took so long in Orlando that we didn't do a grocery stop. Big mistake. I would have liked to at least been able to eat breakfast in the room. It would have saved quite a bit. We did buy the Pop mugs and found them useful. I also brought the Crystal Light on-the-go packets from home and we ordered ice water everywhere and made lemonade or iced tea with that so we didn't pay much for drinks at all. Also at AK, I would recommend the meal deal. You get lunch and they give you coupons for later in the day one for a popcorn or ice cream and another coupon for a bottled drink (water/soda/gatorade). I found that to be a pretty good deal. Too bad they don't do it at the other parks though.

Glad you had a great time snd happy planning your next. :goodvibes :flower: :earsboy: :wizard:

Glad to hear you had a great time!!! How is the transportation from POP? A friend told me to never stay at one of the Values because it is such a terrible time getting to the parks. I know that this time of year is not as busy as in April and May, but I was wondering what your experience with the transportation was. Thanks and happy planning for your next trip!! :flower:

I've stayed at Values in May & August & really never had a bad time getting into the parks. Only once when we were trying to get to TL did we have to wait for a while. You'll be fine - have a blast on holiday!!

This was our first trip on-site and our first experience with the busses. I thought it was pretty efficient. There was usually less than a 10-minute wait to get on a bus. The only time it was an unusually long wait was after EMH evening at MK. The only other problem with Pop busses is that their bus stops were the furthest away from the entrance which was no big deal in the morning but after a long day of walking it sure looked really far away to me and the kids. Overall, we enjoyed using the busses and would do it again but would probably rent a car for a day or two to go off property to Wal-Mart and stuff.

FYI--There is a service that will do your shopping and deliver to your resort. I think it is only 15.00 to deliver which I think is much cheaper than renting a car. They will go to any store you want and give you the receipt.

We are going to try this on our next trip to the POP. Since we are going to try the Magical Express Bus we won't get our grocery stop with our towncar.

Oh yeah--I think the name is wegoshop.com

Below is a quote from the DVC boards...I think they use them alot!!

""Hi all! Just wanted to wirte a little post thanking you all for recommending wegoshop! We used them Sunday 1/23 to have a bunch of stuff from Super Wal Mart delivered to OKW (which we also LOVED by the way). They were great! Arrived just as scheduled and was very easy and friendly. Worth every cent! There is no way I will ever go shopping in Orlando if I can use wegoshop. just wanted to say thanks to wegoshop and to all of you that recommended them!""

Great ideas: wegoshop and bringing your own packets of lemonade. I also did not know about the meal deal.

I have stayed at Pop and loved it. No challenges getting on a bus. Sure, if you get there later you may, but I was in line ready to get to the parks before the parks opened. Also, be prepared to bring your own hair dryer! I was shocked at Pop to see no hair dryers in the rooms and no coffee makers. Talk about value resort! However I did understand that hair dryers were available upon request. I brought mine from home so it really did not matter.

I also bring my own Juicy Juice 100% juice boxes and a bag or two of bagels for breakfast. That way I can save a little bit of money. I can also eat and get dressed at the same time. Works for me! The rest of the day I splurge and eat what I want! :earsgirl:

Tinkim,

Glad you had a good time. I can't wait to see your pictures, 450+ a person after my own heart. I love to take pictures there too. Make sure you let me know when you post them I would love to see them.
