We just got back, had a great trip :) . We did it all as usual, lol... Usf/IOA. DW and Busch Gardens.
We stayed offsite in Cypress Pointe which turned out to be a great place. We talked about onsite but we just hate hotel hopping.

Universal: Go there at opening and everything is a walk-on for the first few hours then crowds picked-up and bigger rides were about a 20 min wait. So FOTL wasn't an issue for us as we did all the big stuff in the morn and mostly shows and got a few fast passes in the afternoons. I thought Shrek was great. The Mummy (which we rode about 15 times, lol) was really good. Way better than RnR. I don't think its as scary as they make it sound though but still a good ride. Try to get the back row for this ride. I still like BTTF although I wish they would smooth it out abit. We did it all except Twister which we felt once was enough. Horror make-up show was too funny.

IOA: Same thing, get there at opening. DS rode DD and The Hulk about 10 times in a row, lol. Spiderman is still my fav, try to get front row at least once, its so much better there. Rode this many times. I miss Hannah Barbera, I loved this little ride, I guess because they were cartoons from my day, lol. Suess Landing is still too cute for words. We always spend time in there. Sinbad is a great show, don't miss it.

Express pass plus: On our last day, we wanted to ensure we were able to do all the rides at least once more. So we bought an express plus for Universal (15.00 each) but headed to IOA first. We easily rode everything in IOA in the morning and then headed off to Universal in the aft. The express plus was great. They never scanned it at all and we used it several times over again for The Mummy and MIB. no problem.

It was a great trip, DS did great with his ankle, way better than expected. We just took breaks a few more times than usual which was probably a good thing anyways since I love sitting at Mel's, lol. Weather was great for most days and the crowds although busier than we've experienced in Jan were OK IF you go for opening.

What is express pass plus? I also asked some questions on the Cdn board! Thanks!

Glad you had a great trip. Getting there early each morning was the key.

Hi Calena, I just answered your questions on the Cdn board :)

Express Plus is a pass you can buy if you are not staying onsite. It was 15.00 per person which allows you one FOTL access to each ride although we used them a few times over again. We only bought it for 1 of our days there as a treat because we wanted to do both parks once again. If you do 1 park a day and go at opening, its really not necessary this time of year, there were no long waits until the afternoon and that was only for the big attractions so do those first.

The price of the express pass changes with the seasons. During peak season, it can cost about $35 per person.
