and like a few others, had a really mixed time! Monday was by far the best day, but overall, things weren't quite what we had been hoping for and we had a couple of awful expriences which ruined yesterday.

Will try to do a trip report in a mo, but here are a few highs and lows!

Highs:

Lotties face when she met Mickey and the Princesses (especially Ariel)

EMH - excellent to be able to walk onto most of the rides - loved Buzz and we were the first on POTC on Monday morning once it had opened!

Once Upon A Dream Parade - had a fab spot oppostie Caseys Corner, so saw the floats as the came round the corner and had picked a spot where they stop and dance!

Hotel Cheyenne - have to say that for the "budget" hotel, we were very impressed with the room, it was lovely and warm and had a cosy feel to it, breakfast was fantastic and we enjoyed the walk to the parks along the river looking at all the other hotels - would definatly stay there again!

Lows:

Lottie being pushed and trampled on by some middle aged woman whilst waiting to see Sleeping Beauty who knocked her flying and stood on her foot. I was very restrained to not push her over aswell. Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillipe saw what happened and called a sobbing Lottie forward who was trying to explain that she was being good and waiting nicely to see them. They calmed her down and gave her lots of cuddles and chatted with her for ages while the woman was being politely reminded by the CM that it wasn't acceptable! However, Lottie didn't want to met any more characters because she was scared it would happen again.

Eating in Cafe Mickey felt incredibly rushed! We booked for lunch at 12.45 and whilst the characters were doing the rounds, the waitress tried to take our half full plates away while we were chatting with Eeyore - needless to say, Lottie guarded her food very carefully from then on and put her arms around it everytime a waitress came close!

Lunch at Plaza Gardens was not what we were expecting. The food choice wasn't great, it was cold or incredibly greasy and not a pleasant experience, we certainly woulsn't eat again here. To top it off, Lottie had an accident whilst waiting for the loo and not one person would let her go in before them, so she wet herself waiting and that left her totally distraught. I was trying to calm her down and sort her out when some busybody came and started interfering and tried to take Lottie away from me because I had grabbed her by the arm to stop her falling over and started calling me a bad mummy. At that point I picked her up, practically ran out of the restaurant with tears streaming down my face and ended up having to take her into the loos in Fantasyland to sort her out.

Would we do it again?? Probably, but when it was slightly warmer and would try to go midweek to avoid some of the crowds!

Seriously, what is wrong with some people :headache: ??? Those lows sound like a complete nightmare, and it does affect little children - my DD took a good couple of trips before she could get used to the scrums around the characters, and I always have to be right next to her before she'll go anywhere near. It really does upset children, all that pushing and shoving - and by folk who should know better as well!

oh my goodness!!! Thats awful, what is wrong with people? I always rush children in before me when queing for the loo... must have been really humiliating for her! how sad. So glad that the prince and princess made her feel better about that horrid woman, and what a shame it made her nervous!
looking forward to hearing about it all more and seeing some pics!! ariel is great isnt she, ben still goes on about her now! haha

Oh no, what a horrible woman pushing Lottie over!:sad2: Some people are just completely nasty!

looking forward to reading your report!:goodvibes

so sorry to hear about ur lows..... it is amazing me how completely selfish sum ppl can be in all situations - and there is no need - we have ppl on this board who go as just adults, and are so compassionate that they wud always look out for ppl - y cant everyone be like them????

but glad u liked cheyenne - we found it very warm n cosy too - so have now been there in hot weather & cold, and it has been great both times (i love this hotel lol).

hope lottie is ok, and sounds like her meet with sleepin beauty was magical..... but understand about her not wanting to see characters, ds1 was like that in june, but this time he was much more forceful (and hes a quiet child) but nothing was gonna stop him seein his characters!! hope lottie feels better about it all..... i hate hearing about children being upset - after all, disney magic begins in children.....

and continues in adults (shhhhhh lol)

I really hope DLRP bring in some queuing system soon. Its not fair on the little children who get hurt trying to see there fave character.

I hope Lottie is ok

Sorry that another child had the same experience as Kacee did. I'm at a loss to explain why adults find it necessary to shove children out of the way...these are the sort of people who put kids off of things for life.

I've decided that Kacee will now only be meeting characters at specific meet and greets/character meals to attempt to avoid a repeat.

I hope Lottie is ok and that she has forgotten her experience by the time you next visit DLRP.

Thanks everyone! Lottie is fine now, ran into nursery shouting that she had seen Mickey Mouse :rotfl2: Am very glad that it happened on the last day and not the first otherwise it would've been a total nightmare to get her anywhere, but she's happy enough now.

I agree about the queuing system though, it was a total scrum at times and whilst I expected a bit of pushing and shoving from kids, I really didn't from grown adults.

Reading your TR, maybe it was the same woman?!

 what is wrong with some people !

poor Lottie

she sounds and looks a complete sweetie BTW :lovestruc

we have ONLY met characters @ restaurants ,oh except eeyore wandering round, and sully in the studios( but no scrums )

i just would not queue for ages, and then maybe have the same experience/s you guys have had :sad2:

luckily my children are boys and older,12 and 6 so more interested in the rides !

don't get me wrong they ( and I !) do like meeting the characters ,but its much more civilised / pleasurable to do it @ a character meal! and saves precious park time too :goodvibes

This is why I am paying to go to Auberge and the Steakhouse brunch. I can't stand the thought of people pushing my children. I would either get into an argument with someone or hold back and fume. Some adults are disgraceful.

As for the woman in the loos - what was she thinking? She tried to take Lottie away from you? How dare she? Does she not realise the trauma that would cause? Why didn't she offer some help?

Wish I could give Lottie all my pixiedust: Sounds like crowds and Christmas time have brought out the worst in some people :headache:

I've lost count of the times I have given up my place to a youngster. But recall eldest DD saying that a women pushed in front of her also last summer :confused3

Totally sympathise, our DS was knocked to the ground by a middle aged woman trying to push in front of him to watch a parade on one of our first visits and last Christmas I got really fed up of people knocking and pushing my niece and youngest DS around to the point that we left the park - I had to have some "time-out" or I think I would've flipped.
I'm so glad that Aurora and the Prince made such a fuss of Lottie after the incident, I hope the woman responsible was made to feel totally embaressed about her actions.
The difference between visiting at Christmas and low season is incredible, as hard as it is to imagine we have had some fabulous "one to one" times with characters inside the parks during low season and they're some of our best memories.:goodvibes
Glad to hear you enjoyed the walk from the Cheyenne, although we've stayed there before, we shuttle bussed last time but are planning on walking next time. :)

What a horrible woman

Lots of :grouphug: for you and Lottie. We only do characters at DLRP at the organised queues/character meals too, unless on the very rare occasion we're lucky enough to come upon a random one in the park who isn't being mobbed.

I can't understand the mentality of some people:headache: . I hope Lottie is ok now:hug:

I'm glad you enjoyed most of your trip though
