Following DS week swimming at the Nationals in a very rainy Sheffield - I did not know that it could rain so much in one place we spent 5 beautiful relaxing days at a log cabin in leicesershire - W~O~W. Anyone wanting a fab place for relaxing check out Eye Kettlby lakes it was set up for people interested in fishing - definatly not us - but increadibly quiet and relaxing and the hot tub hit the spot - well when it wasn't raining, we will be returning well DH and I on our own this time to one of the cabins with a four poster and a sauna as well. and then on to Alton Towers for 2 days, hit the theme park and water park (although the boys thought that the water park fell far far short of Florida) but a good time was had for all.

AND we are now in planning mode for FLORIDA next year especially as DH has been offered BA flights for an excellent price courtesy of a travel industry discount so the 4 of us travel for just over £1000 in August - can't wait

great price for your trip to Florida next year so let the planning commence :thumbsup2,

Wow fantastic price for August flights. :thumbsup2

How did your son get on?

Glad you had a nice time-how did you DS do?.
Great price for flights by the way-happy planning :cool1:.x.

did my degree in sheffield, love that town, but yes, it does rain alot...
oh, and you get very fit as everything is a hill :rotfl2:

DS did well as it was a really hectic schedule - had to be at the pool by 7 am for warm up and had two events each day, he did better than expected in events that we did not think he would do well in but he was of form on his strongest stroke - backstroke, although came 5th in the final of the 200m and his relay team broke an Essex county record that has stood since before he was even born they did this on the last day of competition so they were all tired.

We always hire an apartment in Sheffield and as usual this was perfect, it is easier for us and ultimatly cheaper as we don't have to eat out all the time, took lots of things with me, and even took my slowcooker so put things on so that we could eat when we got back in the evening. They boys favourites were coq au vin and pork chops cooked in apple juice, the garlic chicken was good too but way to garlicky will cut to a couple of cloves and not a whole bulb like the recipe said!! the people near us at the pool the next day must have loved us:rotfl:
