Can't wait to read more and see more pics!

Great reviews! We have a ADR for Tony's I am not thrilled about it but my husband wants to try it. I was going to get the cheesecake but now I think I will go with the icecream bomb.
I can't wait to read more of your reviews. I have 2 children with peanut allergies, so I am particularly interested in how you were treated and what meals you ate. One question so far, were substitute m&m's served with the ice cream like skittles or something?
We are going in August and so far, we have ressies for
Crystal Palace (lunch)
Liberty Tree Tavern (dinner)
Chef Mickey's (dinner)
Primetime Cafe (dinner) (couldn't get Mama Melrose)
Coral Reef (lunch)
San Angel Inn (dinner)
Tony's Town Sq. (lunch)(altho I'm scared having read bad reviews)
1900 Park Faire (breakfast)
What do you think? Any I should skip and replace with something else?
Also, what counter service did you use (with the peanut allergy)?
What snacks (with the peanut allergy)?
We are also doing the DDP. Thanks for your trip report!!!![]()
Yum so far!![]()
I like that so far, every pic of hubby's meal has been a steak and the pic was taken after he started eating...![]()
I havent done Liberty Tree, Primetime or San Angel but the others should be fine. Chef Mickey does have peanut butter on the buffet at breakfast, not sure about lunch, so the chef brought out dd breakfast from the kitchen. I'm lucky that dd's peanut allergy isn't very severe, if peanuts are beside her she's fine, as long as she doesnt touch or consume it. Just make sure when you make your adrs you tell them to put the allergy down on the system, also email Brenda with your adrs and she will do out an allergy form for you.
The M&M are substituted with another chocolate coated candy (not sure what brand but peanut free) I'm glad I don't see Ohana's for dinner on your adr list, I made sure not to go to that one, too much peanuts at dinner (peanut sauce on all tables and a peanut noodle dish)
At all the TS meals the chef came out to talk to me and inform me of what has peanuts in it. Apparently all the baked goods are off limits b/c they are not made there, its from an outsource and they can not guarantee that it did not come in contact with peanuts. There are some desserts with nuts and they informed me of which ones. Again all the chefs were nice and all the servers about getting the chef to come to the table. Some chefs did take longer than others, but they were all there within 10 mins or so.
As for the CS, I made sure not to eat anywhere that had peanut butter sandwiches on the menu. DD was playing at DHS at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and it was lunch time so I went next door to the eatery there (forget the name) and saw the peanut butter sandwiches on the menu and just kept walking....I don't trust CS that have peanut butter on the menu. We also didnt eat at alot of CS, I'm not a big fast food fan. But we did eat at the Toy Story Pizza Planet and alot at Captain Cooks at POLY since we usually head back to our resort in the afternoon for pool time and then just ate something quick there.
As for snacks the popcorn at the parks is fine, the prepacked ice creams are okay, thats what dd always had.
I see you are staying at POLY, I love that resort, have fun!
Thanks for all the info! Now I don't feel guilty not eating at Ohana's even tho we're staying at Poly. I had the same thoughts about the Polynesian cooking and peanuts. The baked goods thing worries me a little. Does that mean no hot dog or hamburger rolls? I have a feeling my dd and ds will be having a lot of chicken nuggets! Did your dd have that ice cream bar shaped like Mickey and covered with chocolate? I would love for them to try that!! Looking forward to some more reviews!![]()
Hi
I love your reviews. Thanks for sharing. The Mahi-Mahi at the Coral Reef is just delicious!!
