Hi folks

We are just back a couple of hours ago from a fantastic New Year trip to DLP.

We all loved it but are back with sore feet and are all shattered!

The atmosphere was fab and everyone was in a happy mood.

Highs: :cheer2:

Managed to get dinner on NYE at Rainforest Cafe - there was no queue, and we walked straight in at 6:30pm. They were doing a 2 course set menu for 21 euros for adults and about 12 euros for kids.

DD having her first turn on Big Thunder Mountain - and loved it!

Discovering Casey Jr and Le Pays de contes de fees - had never discovered these before and spotted them from the train. DD particularly loved the later of the two.

Meeting Minnie Mouse about 2 minutes after we arrived at our Hotel! DD was super excited!

Great and easy transfers courtesy of Tio shuttle. Like SamTom, we only booked the day before departure, but all was good. The driver texted me earlier in the day to say he would be around 10 minutes later than planned (1:35)- we had plenty of time - and he arrived spot on the time he said. He was grateful as he had another family to drop at the airport and then come back for us (wasn't you was it Sam Tom?).

Lows: :sad2:

really surprised at the crush after the fireworks - we watched the fireworks at the entrance to discoveryland near to the buzz ride. That was fine, but when we decided to head back to Main street and get DD to bed, there was a terrible crush in the paths outside the Plaza gradens restaurant. People just didn't care who they were pushing and I was glad I was carrying DD. It was really quite scary. was fine once we got onto Main St, but that section was awful.

waiting for nearly 1.5 hours for DD to meet Rapunzel - worth it for DD, and she got to meet Flynn too - he came along the queue, but was a very long queue.

50-90 minute queues for the Princess pavillion - so we never managed to do this as we never had enough time.

Not a Disney low, but a low on the trip - on our way home today at CDG they chanegd our departure gate without telling everyone - I had taken DD to the toilet and then we were given wrong information. When we finally got told the correct gate, the plane was almost full and all the could offer us was 3 single seats! although they were across the aisle from each other. Credit to Easyjet - they managed to juggle a few folk around and found us a row of 3 right at the back. My impression of CDG as an airport is that it is out dated and pretty poor.

All in all a wonderful trip. Off to get DD to bed - she slept all the way home on the plane! Will download my pics too and post a few of the best - maybe tomorrow!

sounds like a great trip, CDG terrible place snotty check in staff huge queues for passport control leaving little time to get to the gate even though we got there in plenty of time to check in ,changed gate un clear imformation will be trying euro star this year its a pity as leeds/bradford is just so nice on going out ,are you doing a trip report would love to see pics of flynn and raunzel

Forgot to add something that was both a high and low - breakfast at Cafe Mickey on 1st jan.

I thought the breakfast was average, and their crockery for breakfast was very tired - lots of chipped and cracked plates and glasses!

Also, we were almost missed by most of the characters due to the route they took around the restaurant - it was only because we waved and shouted each time they missed us that we got to see all the characters. And we missed Eeyore in the end.

However, DD loved meeting all the characters, so it was a high for that!

Wow, I really think it could be us...We we're supposed to be picked up at 12.10 but we got a text to say could he pick us up 10 minutes earlier so 12 noon!

So nice to hear from people who were there at the same time...I really wish I was still there : (

Xx

welcome back :wizard:

We had the same problem with CDG - wrong gate number. Luckily I was off to the WC and as I passed one of the gates I noticed our flight number and destination. Ten minutes later they announced the change of gates. Everybody rushed to "new" gates. No fun.

Welcome back :wave2: glad you had a great time.

I don't think anyone likes CDG :sad2: we were stuck there overnight once and I was never so glad to be back in England, although we were well compensated for it so I mustn't complain. Our flight now goes to/from Orly and it's a much nicer (smaller :thumbsup2 ) airport. :)

Glad you had a lovely time. We really want to try to meet Rapunzel and Flynn as Little Rose is in love with them both atm, but i'm not sure we want to wait in such huge queues when we are only there for 2 days, I can but hope the princess meal just happens to have Rapunzel, Flynn and one of Belle, Ariel or Tiana - but wishful thinking I know! LOL!

We had that problem at CDG back in June 2009 with a 4 month old baby, sat in one gate and then nearly missed the flight because they had changed it after check-in but hadn't bothered going to to the old gate to tell the people sitting there and they were bloody horrible to us for being "late" to the new gate, and made it as difficult as possible for us to get through the security bit as they possibly could, with a 4 month old baby!
