Best trip ever! Utterly amazing, it all just went so brilliantly.

Highs

- Cast Members were amazing. So much so I wrote An Open Letter To Disneyland Paris Cast Members. They made our holiday so special.

- Weather, no really! We were expecting 5 days of rain and Sunday and Monday were lovely. Tuesday we had some rain but by mid afternoon it had dried up. Wednesday was dry again and so was Thursday until about lunchtime, then the heavens opened. Luckily we left mid afternoon.

- Tower of Terror - I went on, I did, I promise! The theming is out of this world. Lucas went on too, even after getting his height checked twice!

- Characters. Lucas got over his fear of characters, cue lots of magical moments and photos that will cover our walls.

- Star Tours. Lucas was big enough this time, and as a huge fan of Star Wars was in his element, all 5 times.

- Staying off site. So easy and far far cheaper, if not we wouldn't have been able to go. Val d'Europe is a lovely safe area, the train ride is so quick and cheap and our apartment was big (thanks Lynette for your recommendation there), clean and quiet. Driving was a doddle too.

- Cafe Mickey and Planet Hollywood. Returned to both a decade after bad experiences with food and both were super yummy, with great service.

- Crowds. Half term for the UK but not that crowded really, not compared to other holiday periods we've been like summer and Christmas.

Loads more too, but I don't want to bore you!

Lows
Not a lot really - some other guests were a bit rude, but they are in the local supermarket too! It was honestly a trip where everything was amazing - even Lucas getting a cough on Tuesday didn't slow us down.

More details to follow, but for now I can only say what an absolutely wonderful trip it was - the best 5 days of our lives.

Welcome back Steve, so pleased you all had an amazing trip. I look forward to hearing more about it :)

Welcome back, sounds like a fantastic trip :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip! The picture of your son with Dale is such a great shot. You have made some great memories! I really hope my trip is half as good as yours

Brilliant! Welcome back and glad you had such a good time. Your open letter is lovely and so well deserved - it pretty much says everything we feel about our own experiences at DLP. I always try and remember the names of CMs who stood out for us and email guest relations when we get home to thank them in particular but your letter to everyone is such a nice idea. :thumbsup2

Bet you can't wait to get back! :)

Oh, and which was the spacious apartment you stayed in in VdE please?

Welcome back Steve! So good to hear that your trip was the best yet :goodvibes, and that Lucas got to go on Star Tours...would have loved to see his face :goodvibes. Does he love POTC as much as his parents? Also interesting to hear your review of Cafe Mickey and Planet Hollywood, as we have avoided them for years after very, very disappointing meals at both.....might be worth a revisit??? I don't suppose you noticed when the Passport bureau is open till? Although apparently I may not need to go as I think if we order them though Disney they send out the actual passes :confused3

The apartment was Séjours & Affaires Rive Gauche - SERRIS, link here. I'm going to do a proper write up with a load of photos, but we found it to be great. The train station was about a 5 minute walk away, perfect.

Kaye, the passport office closes at 10pm. If you had to send photos off then you will probably be sent actual passes. we had temporary passes that had to be turned into proper passports the first day we used them. I only went and left the passports we needed for ID back in the apartment! Lucky the trains were so often and the apartment was close to the station!

Lucas does indeed love POTC, especially when I got wet!

Cafe Mickey and Planet Hollywood were both great. I had a pizza in both but they were really nice pizzas, especially in Cafe Mickey. The tables in Planet Hollywood didn't seem as close together as what I remembered and there was less of a feeling of being crammed like sardines. Would go back to both on our next visit without hesitation.

Glad you had a great trip. We were there roughly the same time and yes boy did it rain Thursday was very heavy. We chose to have cocktails in the fantasia bar so a good way to pass the time lol.
I'll read your blog, it's always interesting to hear how others find the parks that were there the same time. We had a great trip too and the only rude people we came across were other guests.

Glad to hear you had such a great trip! :goodvibes

Welcome back  great to read about CMs making a great trip unforgettable. We've met some lovely CMs but it is exceptional when they help your l.o's overcome fears about characters and apprehension about rides.
Looking forward to your reviews, TR and podcast.

Welcome back! Great cast members letter! :thumbsup2 hope to have the same when we get there next week ;). Looking forward to your trip report.....will keep me going til my trip ;)

Cheers Steve :goodvibes, open till 10pm [wow that's service :thumbsup2]. Will keep Planet Hollywood in mind for next year when we will have two teenage boys in tow :goodvibes

What pizza did you have at Cafe Mickey?? We love pizza but on looking at the latest menu was put off by the goat's cheese and the olives.

We haven't been back to planet hollywood since our honeymoon in 2010 as both food and service were so bad; but sounds like it might be worth another go???

The menu for Cafe Mickey on DLRP Magic looks to be out of date. I had one with Pepperoni, mushroom, tomato, rocket and cheese - delicious!

In PH I had a BBQ chicken pizza - very nice too, though the CM pizza was my favourite of the two.

Thanks Steve.:thumbsup2 Sounds like just the thing and sharing a pizza with DH helps so much in keeping the cost down of Cafe Mickey.:goodvibes
