We're back ... long drive yesterday, over 550 miles but I think it was worth it (Just a shame I had to do all the driving myself)

Highs

  • the weather - couldn't believe it would be so nice - especially on Tuesday - walking round in a t shirt in October? even saw people in shorts!
  • The easy access card - thank you Carrie for your advice - we were able to park at the disabled parking both days which made the world of difference to Dad - and he was able to use the card to access the few rides he wanted to do (he only did 5 over 2 days!)
  • Lucky Nugget - we can't actually remember if we'd been in there before (or if we'd done the WDW equivalent) but with mum and dad the convenience of not having to scramble for a table and stand in a queue was worth the extra euro - and the food was much hotter than most 'fast food' I've discovered in DLP. The band played a fantastic version of Grim Grinning Ghosts which made my day

  • The cast members - every single one we interacted with was lovely, friendly, and so helpful - they get a bad press a lot of the time but the ones we saw were great - from the guy on IASW making sure mum and dad sat me in the middle as I was a child to the guy with Alice who noticed we'd been waiting for a picture and made sure she saw us, everyone was great

  • the halloween decorations - we'd not been at this time for 4 years and they seemed better than ever

Lows

I'm struggling here - probably the fact quite a few restaurants were shut (which I was expecting!) but in the studios particularly it left the choices to a minimum!

Pics seem a bit big, sorry! not sure how to make them smaller!!

Lovely! So pleased you had a great time and everything worked well for you. Great weather means not just that it is so much more pleasant to walk around in but makes for glorious photos too. :goodvibes

Sounds like a lovely trip - so pleased you were able to sort out the EA pass for your Dad - hope he is recovering OK.

Oh my - I am SO envious of you meeting Alice - she is the ONE character I would love to meet more than any other as I am a HUGE fan :worship:. I have never seen her in the park, which is such a shame (but probably good in a way as I wouldn't be able to stop myself from being very excited and showing up not only DH but my children too :rotfl2:).

Don't apologise about your photos - you know how we all love to see photos on here - and they are lovely ;).

Glad you had a great trip, and I love your photos :goodvibes
