We're back from surprising our kids– a grateful family -with pics and video.

Great start!!!! I can't wait to read more!!!!

Loved the shirts.
I keep telling everyone here that I am voting for Mickey Mouse for President.
Doesn't go over to well with the people who call and ask who you are voting for:confused3

We got a lot of responses about DH's shirt - vote for Dopey. We were all going to wear our t-shirts again this Tuesday for election day. I won't be able to wear mine because I just got scheduled for a lunch meeting with the VP of my company. I don't think it would be appropriate but I know she would appreciate the humor. She's offered to volunteer on election day for her candidate.

Great start!!!! I can't wait to read more!!!!

Thanks. Welcome back!

Great start to your Epcot day! I had a few "mis haps" like you did at rope drop! Sometimes you can tell them the plan 10 times and it just doesn't sink in! I love all the pictures and can't wait to read more! :)

I just watched the video of the surprise...how cute! I can't wait to read more of your tr! : )

I'm enjoying your trip report so far. I've always wanted to go into the Character Connection at Epcot. Seems like it was a lot of fun.

I can't wait to hear more about your trip and CSR. We're staying there next year.

Great report. I've been reading along from the beginning but I don't think I've ever posted:rolleyes1 I LOVE the idea of suprising your boys. I have two small kids (DD3 and DS18mo) so they're a bit young to suprise, but one day we will definitely do it! You kept the secret so long. I am very impressed! I love the pic of all of you with Mickey. You look so happy. You deserve it! Can't wait to hear more:banana: :surfweb:

This is an awesome TR, I am so glad I found it!

Welcome aboard!

I just kept telling myself that at least he was able to follow the crowds to Soarin'. I know he didn't remember from 2 yrs ago where it was. Why remember when you have Mommy the tour guide. After that, everytime I had to get a FP he would say "I'm coming with you" and I would look him directly n the face and say yes or no, depending which park and the crowds. I also made sure he knew our cell phone numbers because he did not know them before.

Thanks. I still get excited when I see it. I was telling my father about it this morning. He was admitted into the hospital while we were in Florida and has been in a nursing home since last week and I haven't seen him yet. I told him I'll bring my laptop this weekend so I can show him the video.

Thank you. The character connection was great and I'm glad we went early in the morning while everyone else was doing Soarin', Test track, and Mission Space. Also, the line was not long when we went - we had about a 10 minute wait for Mickey who was first.

thanks for posting. I do highly rcommend pulling off a surprise like this at least once. I doubt we'll ever do it again, but, you never know. :confused3 We're going for our cruise next year and I keep thinking about we could add on a couple of days afterwards - it'll be right after Thanksgiving weekend. DH would kill me for even thinking about it. I'll see how the economy does the next year. We were happy seeing Mickey again. Nothing like seeing a long, lost friend --- it's always as if you've never been apart!

Back to our Epcot morning….

Off to see Nemo.

Love that ride. And, just for Vickie --- “just keep swimming, just keep swimming!” And, then to Crush. I was surprised that DS8 didn’t want to sit down in the front. He reminded me that was for the little kids. My baby is growing up. I think because he was afraid that Crush wouldn’t talk to him this time- he was the first person on our trip 2 yrs ago. But, I’ll let him think that it’s because he is growing up.

When I was doing my planning for this trip I promised myself that we were going to try MS and TT. Never have done either. DH will do any ride but the boys take after their wimp of a Mom. DS8 (yes, I told him he could follow me this time) and I went over to TT to get FPs. After getting the FPs, I saw the cars going around and yes, I wimped out. DS8 also said “no way.” But, I did get a pic of DS8 in the car.

DH and DS13 met us over at MS.

20081016042.jpg

Of course – it would be the green side for us.

20081016050-1.jpg

All 4 of us really liked it. DS8 took his role of engineer as if he had just been provided with our country’s secrets. It became DS8’s new favorite DW ride. For anyone who wonders if it OK, if it passes my wimp test – it’s a good attraction. No problems at all for me. After the simulator we walked into the training lab and became one of the teams at the front. I was petrified because I have no video gaming skills. My boys, however, are typical boys and if you give them a joystick, they’re right at home. We won! :cool1:

Well, it was time to get going for our first ADR – Le Cellier.

Great updates!! I missed 3! The pool and both epcot!!! Geeze, you get a little busy and miss everything! I LOVE the tees!! So cute!! Can't wait to hear about Le Cellier! DH and I are eating there for the first time in March!

I followed your link from the CSR thread (I plan on staying there next Sept). SO glad I did! Yours is truly an amazing story. I am so glad your DH is feeling so well. I don't know how in the world you were able to keep the secret from your boys! I'm good, but not that good. I never would have been able to pull it all off. I'm glad you had such a magical trip. It sounds like you all really deserved it! :goodvibes

Sherri.....I'm swimming as a matter of fact I feel like doing the back stroke this morning.
I just watched a Disney program about the rides it actually took you through several of the ones I wanted to try and I think I'll be brave enough to handle them.(big talker sitting here on the couch but it will probably be another story when I am in front of the ride itself)

I think it would be neat to wear your shirts Tuesday. But I quess it wouldn't look to professional.
Loving your pictures that camera sure is neat.

Loving your trip report, Sherri and your pictures of CSR. But tell me where is the video? I missed it and want to watch it.

It's easy to miss things around here. Don't worry - you've been quite busy.

Thanks for reading. CSR is a beautiful resort. Granted I've only seen bits and pieces of others. I find it very relaxing, lush, and quiet there. I know I read a lot of comments about how big it is, but, so many of the others are big too. And, I don't mind the outside walkways, nor, do DH or the boys. As for the surprise- if I could do it, anyone could do it. Both of the boys really like CSR too.

Glad to hear you're still swimming. What rides are you going to be brave enough for? I'm sure you are braver than me. I don't do any of the big rides. I'm telling you- it took everything I had to agree to MS - the green side. I don't know why - it was easy. I'm already telling myself that on our next trip, I'll try TT. We'll see. :confused3 As for the shirts, I'll see where we end up meeting for lunch. As a telecommuter, she knows that I don't dress up for work. ;)

Loving your trip report, Sherri and your pictures of CSR. But tell me where is the video? I missed it and want to watch it.

Thanks Kathy. You're one of the ones who recommended Casita 4 for us - I'm so glad. We really like this part of the resort and plan on asking for that part the next time we stay there. Just don't know when that will be.

Here's the you tube link for the video.

The phone call part was DH pretending to call my aunt and uncle who live about 1/2 hr from the airport.

This TR is being interrupted by Halloween pictures…

I made sure to buy their costumes before our trip because I knew there wouldn’t be much time when we came home and I’m glad I did, especially, since I hurt my back last week.

DS13 chose to be a gangster. Unfortunately, DH didn’t look at the store for a fedora-type hat for him when he bought the costume before the trip. This past week, you couldn’t find any type of hat anywhere around here.

DS8 wanted to be a pirate. On our last trip to the Disney store before the trip, I found this costume of Captain jack Sparrow. DS8 didn’t think I bought the hat with it and we gave it to him at MK when we went to watch the Pirate Tutorial. You’ll have to stick around to see that pic on our MK day. The nice part of this costume is that he can wear it again next year on our cruise for Pirate night.

And, our daughter brought our granddaughter over to go Trick or Treating with her uncles. She had a great time and she’s sleeping over tonight.

I’ll get back to the TR tomorrow!

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween.

Your little goblins are so cute especially your grandaughter.
I want to try as amny as I can since in the past my ride selection has been limited, but this time around it is a special mission, I figured if I can survive cancer I can survive a thrill ride.We will have to wait and see if my brave words are just that.
BTY has is your back???? If need my couch I have it broken in for you to use since I plan on going back to work tomorrow. I might have to hop around but at least I'll have my butt back in motion and not taking root to the couch.
Well it is now time for me to try and get some sleep. It is almost 3:00am which is really 4:00am we had to move our time back due to time change.I hate it when we have to do that it is so stupid.IMO.

I'm loving your report... can't wait to read more! And didn't we have beautiful weather here in MD for Halloween?

I LOVE the halloween costumes!! DS8's pirate makeup looks so great! Did you do it? He really looks like Capt Jack!! Of course, the little pink kitty is adorable!!

Thanks for asking about my back. It is much better and I FINALLY started unpacking. We've only been home almost 2 weeks.:scared1: And, I cleaned one of the bathrooms yesterday - as a mother of boys, I still can't stand it. I did have some muscle spasms earlier today when we were visiting my father at the nursing home. Good luck going back to work - remember to take care of yourself.

I'm loving your report... can't wait to read more! And didn't we have beautiful weather here in MD for Halloween?

Thank you. We couldn't have ordered better weather for Friday night. I love when I don't have to layer them under their costumes. Nice to see a Baltimore person. I'm sitting here watching the Ravens game now. I grew up right outside Baltimore and live in Carroll County now.

Lovin the report. Can't wait to read the rest.:thumbsup2

Thanks. I love your screen name. Mine is so not-original. It's the same one I use on every other message board.

Thank you. I think the pink kitty is adorable too. She's a pistol, that one. She's 2 1/2 and loves to order everyone around. I look forward to being able to make her some costumes, like I did her mother once I married her father. It's been awhile since I've made any Halloween costumes - the boys don't want me making them for them anymore. As for DS8's make-up, I did do that. I used my brown eyeliner for the mustache. Then, DH had bought a tube of the brown make up and I would put a tiny drop on my finger and smear it on and go out form the middle so it would shade a little.
