We're back from our quick C-mas trip ~

We returned late last night from our quick trip (following a cruise) to the parks ~ we arrived Mon. afternoon (took the train from San Diego to Anaheim) and left yesterday evening. Monday was wet but we dealt with it and had a blast! Yesterday was dry, a little chilly in the morning (7am MM!) and evening ~ but lovely in the afternoon. We rode lots of rides ~ several multiple times, no Splash Mtn. for us this time though. Our MM was perfect ~ PP, Dumbo, Toad, *attempted Matterhorn but it was down ~ we returned a little later for a ride*, Tea Cups, Alice, then over to Space. IASW was lovely and a short line Mon. afternoon, we waited in the shortest line we'd seen at PFF (we'd hoped to visit with Tiana ~ she was there on Mon. due to rain ~ but we didn't see her then), saw Tiana's ShowBoat Jubilee and then DD met Tiana & Naveen back in New Orleans Square ~ such an ideal spot for them (this was yesterday - Tues.). Yesterday in the noon hour at DCA ~ TSMM was a 10 min. wait, so we "played" twice! I rode Indy & Screamin' for the 1st time in a year, this is the 1st time we'd had someone else with us (my mom) since last Dec. and DD is still too short for both of those rides! The DLH was lovely ~ but it's hard to think that I'd had a $59 room at HoJo's which is just as lovely IMO ~ it's alright, we enjoyed the extra hour we got yesterday morning.

*dinner at Goofy's Kitchen Mon. evening
*brunch at Storyteller's Tues. late morning
*dinner at Pizza Port ~ chicken fusilli Tues. evening.

DD & I got some cocoa from Plaza Inn yesterday evening and watched the Fireworks from there (there were no fireworks Mon. evening). The C~mas parade is fun, I missed the chairs we had last year (we did the Holiday Tour in 2008).

Crowds were low until late yesterday *but even then they weren't bad, just a lot of people at the parade & fireworks, I think CMs and their families showed up for the party a little early, my mom was purchasing NBC Jenga and overheard the CM talking to a customer/guest (who also was a CM) about the party and how last night (Mon. night) the party was great cause noone was there and that tonight (last night) would probably be crazy!

I'm so glad we saw the Billy Hill show Mon. evening ~ it was the last one and it was great, easy to get a good seat (unlike our 1st Billy show this past Sept.)

This was our 2nd year (in a row) visiting during CM party days, however last year we made a 4 day trip so this was shorter. We accomplished a lot and I'd visit during this time again.

What is this? We are going from Anaheim to San Diego in Feb. and long story short...our rental car price is outrageous due to the fact we're flying in and out of diff airports. So I'm curious about other modes of transportation.

Just a few months ago my in-laws were going to have huge fees because of flying to San Fran and leaving out of San Diego. My father-in law found out that if you get the car from a remote lot instead of the airport they will not charge you the extra fee. So from the airport he took a ten minute cab ride to the nearest dollar location, got the car and picked mother in law back up from arrivals at airport to avoid loading and unloading luggage. She said she enjoyed a snack and they saved 350 dollars. Sounded like a great tip to me so you may want to check into it.
