Sad to say that our Disneyland portion is over. We are still in California for another 2 days or so, but we checked out of our hotel (Carousel Inn) on Friday. We spent 3 great days in sunny warm weather :cool1: (when we left it was 16F and a blizzard:sad2: ). If you have any questions, please let me know. I will post a trip report once we return home.

Our hotel was : Carousel Inn (3 queen family suite)
Some of our meals: Bengal Barbeque, Ariel's grotto, Carnation Cafe,
Crowds: low except Friday but even then it was doable

Please let me know if you have any questions. We were DL virgins and fell in love with both parks!!!

Welcome back, glad to hear you had a wonderful time! I am interested in reading about the carousel inn once you get to your TR.

DL is so easy to fall in love with isn't it???? I'm glad you had a great time! Can't wait to read your TR when you get home. Enjoy the rest of SoCal weather!

Hey, glad you had a great time at Disney!

How is the weather right now? I know it gets down to the mid-40s at night?? What did you wear to make you warm/comfortable?
We leave Saturday :) and I am going through the packing now.

My suggestion is to dress in layers. During the day it is warm enough for me to be in a t-shirt and jeans, but when it gets dark, a light jacket is necessary. I dressed the kids in a t-shirt and a long sleeve shirt and they would go back a forth depending on the time of day. Right now it's a little cooler than when we first got here and its rained a little today, but it beats the snow for sure:banana:

Also, some of the rides are inside and very cold such as Pirates of Caribbean and Indiana Jones, and I took a jacket on those rides, even tough it was 70s outide. Have fun!!!

Awesome! This is exactly what I was planning, and it always feels good to know you have a good plan in place :) I appreciate your advice :thumbsup2

Did you do Carnation Cafe for breakfast? We are planning on doing that and were hoping for a "review".

Thanks!

I have been watching the weather, and it now looks like rain on Thursday and Friday. It seems to be changing day by day so I will keep hoping for good weather. We can and have dealt with rain before, so no worries.

How are the crowds?

No, we did lunch there. We ate breakfast at our hotel. Sorry I can't help you there.

Crowds are very light. Only day we ran into more people on Friday before President's day, because some schools had a day off. Thursday we could walk on every ride with no wait or 10 minute wait. We still followed a common sense plan to arrive early, ride slow loading rides and popular rides early. We used Fastpass for Indiana Jones and Space Mountain (after the parade). I was sure we needed to Fast Pass California screamin and ToT, but both were 10 minute wait.

Glad you had a great trip! Sounds like the crowds were managable too!

We are heading out this morning! The weather report says rain in Anaheim today and tomorrow, and it is raining hard here at home this morning. We have a 6 hour drive ahead of us and the only part that bothers me is actually driving there in the rain. We can deal with the weather in the parks, but I would like a bit of sunshine or at least no rain for part of our visit. I still would rather be in Disneyland in the rain than home in the rain. :goodvibes

How was Ariel's Grotto??? DId you do lunch or dinner?? Glad you had a great time.

We did lunch and had a 1130am seating, which was the first on of the day. We saw Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine and Snow White. We were seated at a booth, which made picture taking difficult. DH didn't think of it when being seated, and I was in the bathroom with DS. I had the meatloaf with cheddar mashed potatoes as did MIL, DH had the chicken pot pie, DD had the octodog with mac n cheese and DS got a half portion of the octodog for free ( he is 2). All entrees were great, no complaints there. The desserts were also delicious. DH and I had the chocolate cake, MIL tried the apple dessert, which were both great. DD chose apple slices with caramel, and the apples were really sour and tough. I think they were precut and sprinkled with lemon juice to hold color.

The interaction with the characters was etter than any other meal previously. They took their time, asked questions, and asked if they could write something in their autograph books. One of my pet peeves at CRT at WDW was that the princesses snatched the books without asking and rushed from table to table. The dining area is very pretty and made for a great break to our day.
