If you have any questions, please ask. We have stayed in the Bayou before, and for this trip we had a Magnolia Bend room. We were told at check-in (8/5) that POR was booked to capacity.

I will be there next Sunday. I know it will be filled to capacity. Since I have a standard room. Which section would you recommend?

As for the buses. Were they a mess? I am getting different vibes. They say the bus stops are too far. Which buildings are closest to the bus stops?

As for the bus stops at the parks. Aren't All stars bus stops farther than PORs? People are saying that the POR bus stops are far but I could have sworn that the all Stars bus stops are the last. Unless it changed since 2005 which I doubt.

There are four bus stops, so regardless of where you are you will probably be at an OK distance to one of the bus stops. We were at the far side of Building 80, and it was about a 3-5 minute walk to the North Depot. Overall, we didn't care much for the location of our room (8290), but that North Depot bus stop was nice because it wasn't too crowded.

Here is a map to help you pick your location:

I like buildings 14, 15, 18 or 27 in AB, and Oak Manor looks good for Magnolia Bend.

There were a couple of times we waited up to 20 minutes for a bus, but most of the time the buses ran more regularly than that and overall we didn't wait long for buses.

The POR stop at the parks vary in location depending upon the park. I think the MGM stop is the last stop in the waiting area, but it's closer at the other parks. After 3:00 at the MK, Riverside and French Quarters get their own buses instead of sharing, which is nice.

pics of course :confused3

We had a little buddy waiting for us at check-in:

There was another one on the other sink.

This is the view from our room. It's not much of a view, but it's a view, right? : )

We enjoyed a breakfast a Boatwright's and I posted pictures of the breakfast on this thread:

It was delicious! If you're staying at POR and have the time for a table service breakfast, Boatwright's is great. We had an ADR for 8:30, and it wasn't too crowded.

Welcome Back. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. How was the weather?

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will be happy in any room but I will try the AB section and see what happens. I figured the bus stop was closer. I didnt pay it any mind the last time. I was at All movies and that was the last bus stop at every park.

The heat was brutal. Absolutely hot and humid. Even the cast members were saying that it was ususually hot. And, we didn't get that daily afternoon storm that usually happens in August. It rained just a few times in the evenings.

The quiet pool near the laundry room was so warm that it wasn't even refreshing. We used it only when we did laundry. The pool water at Old Man Island was a little cooler, but that water was still warm.

We would usually get to the parks at rope drop and then head back to POR mid-day for showers and a change of clothes before we went back to the parks for the evening. OR we'd just do the parks until late afternoon and then come back and stay at POR and swim in the evening.
