Hi guys,

we're back from what felt like too short a trip! We've had the most excellent time, all 16 of us!

Will try to write up a trippie, but here's some highlights and lowlights (that's what I get in my hair too!):

Durham Tees Valley/BMI baby/Charles De Gaule - all efficient, aunt had make up confiscated at airport (DOH!), bmi baby staff seemed a bit abrupt but we weren't on plane long, maybe they'd had a bad day! Charles de Gaule very scary but ok due to help getting out - see next section!

RS Transport - 2 drivers waiting at arrivals, got us through airport and lifts very quickly, great service.

Newport Bay Club - very good but too hot in the corridors and some bedrooms!! Breakfast was good if you got in before 8.00 - 8.15am, after that there was queues up the stairs! Had 2 evening meals in cape cod - 25 euros per adult and 12 euros per child, which was very very good - all you can eat buffet with some very nice food and a good choice.

I booked 2 of our meals before we left the Uk, one in cape cod and one for cafe mickey, we wouldn't have been served til very late if I hadn't. I then decided to book meals for the following 2 nights at the concierge desk.

Cafe Mickey - really good food and character interaction, well worth the price.

Silver Spur Steakhouse - AWFUL! Booked this for 6pm on Tues and left the restaurant at 8.20pm after the rides had stopped! Thought we would eat and catch the last rides with not many queues. Ordered the set menu, prawn cocktails ok, steak and a thousand oven chips was acceptable but no better than I do at home, nothing else on plate, salad or veg or anything! Desserts weren't very good, I left my profiteroles and that has NEVER been known before! They were hard pastry and frozen in the middle. Kids and teenage meals were actually very nice!

The parks weren't as busy as I thought, although fantasyland land was the busiest, couldn't get near peter pan/pinnochio/snow white. Others were about 10/15 mins wait. Longest we queued was BTM for 40 mins, we fast passed this the next day.

Space Mountain/star tours were virtual walk-ons (Yes I finally did Space Mountain with DD!! I only did it once but DD went on 6 times in a row with her cousin who has never done upside down rides!)
Waited about 15 mins for Buzz.

The Studios were quiet, RocknRoller coaster was a walk on each of the 3 times we did it! DS (aged 8 and only just tall enough to go on!) did his first upside down ride on this, and went on 3 times! His picture was a look of sheer terror!!!

Scary Hair - waited for 2 hours in not a very long queue on Tues for DS and friends to have this done, it wasn't in the hair place under the tall orange pipe thing as that was roped off (sorry I'm sure I should know what it's called!) but near the Indian village, DD got a large mohican yest in the real hair place and had to wait only about half an hour - it was very good though!

Charles de Gaule airport on return was almost impossible to navigate around! Really busy and not many signs pointing us in the right direction! Made our gate with abour 10 mins to spare - horrible! My last experience of CDG was exactly the same!

And finally - DD dancing on Tues at the Fantasyland Stage - didn't last very long - 2 shows of about 20 mins, but well worth it all. The memories for all the dancers will last a lifetime, and to be in DLRP with so many family, friends, and familiar faces was unbelievable!

Oh I'm so sorry it's a long post, don't think I'll need to do a trippie now!

Got to put the washer on now!!

welcome back, glad you had a great time.

I was thinking of going to silver spur steakhouse in March though maybe I will try the steakhouse in the village now.

Welcome home Lynn :wave2:
Nice to read your mini trippie. Would love to see some photos :thumbsup2

Shame about the Silver Spur. When you get a chance you may want to post up a review on the restaurant thread here :)

I'm so glad that everything went well, and you had a great time!! :thumbsup2

Charles de Gaule very scary

If I'm right, and you used Terminal 1 with Bmibaby, then I totally understand what you mean!!! :scared: I always bless Easyjet for using Terminal 3!!! :worship: :teeth:

Oh Yes Terminal 1!!!! Satellite 5 to be precise - not well signed then many moving walkways through glass and concrete tubes, no gate number on information boards for our flight!! Makes you really appreciate little teesside airport - you can see all the gates from any seat in departures!!

Lynn
:thumbsup2

I am glad you had a great time even with the airport troubles. I try to use Orly if we have a choice but we would fly from terminal 4 if we fly from CDG which is smaller.

It must have been a great feeling to watch your daughter dance even if it was over quickly.

So glad all 16 of you enjoyed it :thumbsup2 and those memories of your DD dancing are priceless. :goodvibes

Glad you all had an excellent time and that the performance went well. :) Are there any photos of the stage while they their dancing?:dance3:
