Hello everyone!
We're back from an AMAZING trip! I am going to start my full trip report soon, but wanted to share my general highs and lows with you first!
HIGHS:
The Weather - I had my coat on when we left the UK, by the time we arrived in DLP my coat was put in the suitcase and never taken out again!
It was glorious sunshine everyday without a single drop of rain (or snow!) to be seen!
Direct Eurostar - Such an easy way to travel, really is hassle free!
Star Tours - This ended up being Olivia's favourite ride!
20th Anniversary Pins - Olivia has started her pin collection and we were both really pleased to be able to pick up some special 20th Anniversary ones.
Random Character Appearances - On Tuesday and Friday the parks just seemed to be swamped with characters, every corner we turned another character would appear.
Rainforest Cafe - Easily the best meal we had during our trip!
Smoking - I was really worried about all the smoking that had been reported in the parks, but didn't actually witness any at all!
Stitch Live - Olivia has fallen in love with Stitch just like I did!
Queue Lengths - On the whole, the queues were really short. The longest we queued for was 20 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain. (although, Crushes Coaster never had a queue length of less than an hour.. but Olivia didn't feel brave enough for this!)
Glow-Tini - It was just as delicious as I remembered... mmmmm!
Lows:
Cafe Mickey - We did 2 character breakfasts and a character lunch during our stay and we were very disappointed to see the same 6 characters at each meal (Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Gepetto, Chip & Dale) - especially when asking to book the 2nd breakfast and Lunch and being told that it would definitely be different characters as they never have the same ones on all the time.
Cheyenne Meals -The breakfast and dinner we had at the Cheyenne was awful -- a really scrum, with people pushing you out of the way to get to the last sausage/croissant.
Toilets - The majority of the toilets were in a dire state.
Pushing/Queue Jumping Although we saw a lot of random characters, we didn't actually get a lot of their autographs, as when we did Olivia ended up getting very upset when grown men and and women were pushing her out of the way or just pushing past her to get in front. We also had a lot of people trying to push past us in the queues for rides.... my pointy elbows came in handy here!
I could go on and on..... but I'll save the rest for my trip report!
Although there are a few lows listed there we didn't let those spoil our trip... it was more amazing than I could ever have wished for. Just wish that my Dad could have joined us!
