Hello everyone!

We're back from an AMAZING trip! I am going to start my full trip report soon, but wanted to share my general highs and lows with you first!

HIGHS:

The Weather - I had my coat on when we left the UK, by the time we arrived in DLP my coat was put in the suitcase and never taken out again! :thumbsup2 It was glorious sunshine everyday without a single drop of rain (or snow!) to be seen!

Direct Eurostar - Such an easy way to travel, really is hassle free!

Star Tours - This ended up being Olivia's favourite ride!

20th Anniversary Pins - Olivia has started her pin collection and we were both really pleased to be able to pick up some special 20th Anniversary ones.

Random Character Appearances - On Tuesday and Friday the parks just seemed to be swamped with characters, every corner we turned another character would appear.

Rainforest Cafe - Easily the best meal we had during our trip!

Smoking - I was really worried about all the smoking that had been reported in the parks, but didn't actually witness any at all!

Stitch Live - Olivia has fallen in love with Stitch just like I did!

Queue Lengths - On the whole, the queues were really short. The longest we queued for was 20 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain. (although, Crushes Coaster never had a queue length of less than an hour.. but Olivia didn't feel brave enough for this!)

Glow-Tini - It was just as delicious as I remembered... mmmmm!

Lows:

Cafe Mickey - We did 2 character breakfasts and a character lunch during our stay and we were very disappointed to see the same 6 characters at each meal (Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Gepetto, Chip & Dale) - especially when asking to book the 2nd breakfast and Lunch and being told that it would definitely be different characters as they never have the same ones on all the time.

Cheyenne Meals -The breakfast and dinner we had at the Cheyenne was awful -- a really scrum, with people pushing you out of the way to get to the last sausage/croissant.

Toilets - The majority of the toilets were in a dire state.

Pushing/Queue Jumping Although we saw a lot of random characters, we didn't actually get a lot of their autographs, as when we did Olivia ended up getting very upset when grown men and and women were pushing her out of the way or just pushing past her to get in front. We also had a lot of people trying to push past us in the queues for rides.... my pointy elbows came in handy here!

I could go on and on..... but I'll save the rest for my trip report! :lmao: Although there are a few lows listed there we didn't let those spoil our trip... it was more amazing than I could ever have wished for. Just wish that my Dad could have joined us!

Pleased to hear you had such a lovely time :goodvibes

Sounds like a great time of the year to visit with respect to short queues, etc. .

You're back already!

Sounds like a great trip :thumbsup2

I must agree with you about Cafe Mickey. We always see the exact same characters in there, so we don't think we'll go next time which is a shame because we loved it the first few visits.

Looking forward to your trip report popcorn::

So pleased you had such a great trip and look forward to the TR :goodvibes

How is your Dad ? Hope he's feeling better

Welcome back :goodvibes

So pleased you and Olivia had a great time :thumbsup2

How did your Mum find it? And more importantly, how is your Dad doing? Hope he has recovered now.

Can't wait to see photos and hear more about it. Sounds like the weather and everything was perfect :thumbsup2.

Welcome back:)

Sorry to hear about all the scrumming & pushing :sad2:

On our Xmas trip I cancelled our second planned meal at Cafe Mickey because every time we walked past - several times each day - it was the same characters every time

Glad you had a good time though :cool1:

How is your Dad?

My Dad is doing ok thanks, I think he realises now that he would never have been able to manage the trip - even before he got ill again.

Mum really enjoyed it though, don't think she missed him at all! :rotfl::rotfl:

Sounds like you had a great trip.
Glad your Dad is on the mend, looking forward to reading your TR. X

Welcome home
IKWYM about Cafe Mickey. We had a bad time there on our last trip but all in all you seem to have had a fantastic time.
Looking forward to your TR.

Glad to hear you had a great trip. What time did you have breakfast at the Cheyenne? We're staying there in May but I'm quite tempted to upgrade to the Sequoia. How did you find it otherwise?

We took breakfast at 7am... it was still busy then but we were able to find a table in the second room with no problems. When we left at 8am there were people fighting over tables and a queue about 20 people deep at the orange juice machines!!

Other than the meals, I liked the hotel a lot - the themeing is very good and the rooms are a nice size. It's also a lovely walk to the parks in the morning

So pleased that your Dad is on the mend :).

Can't wait to see your TR/photos when you get time :thumbsup2

Pleased your dad is on the mend and you had a great time even though he couldn't be there. I see you have started your trip report, I am looking forward to reading:goodvibes
