Day 10 - September 21st
The Plan: Typhoon Lagoon, DTD and PI
The Reality: We slept in and had a lazy morning. Translation: Lifetime Movie Network. All morning long. It was FAB!! We went to lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, and had some pretty delicious fare. After that, we doned the bathing suits and bused it over to TL. I love TL, mostly due to the wave pool. And the Crush N Gusher. Mal LOVES the shark tank, it is her fav. So, upon entering the park, we rode the CNG and screamed our heads off, and then made our way over to the shark tank. Now, I've snorkled before, many time in fact, in both fresh and saltwater. I've done the shark tank at TL before. However, for some reason, about 1/2 way through the tank my snorkel started to fill with water. So I calmly (honestly, I was calm) flipped onto my back, spit out my mouthpiece and started to float my way towards the exit. Then, the lifeguard came. OMG, it was silly. And I felt RETARDED. I don't even know why he bothered, I was about 8 feet from the exit, I wasn't flailing or anything, but I guess that's his job. And he was quite efficient. So, I dragged myself out of the tank and doused my mouth with Florida water to try and get the wicked salt taste out of my mouth. When I handed the snorkle in, I mentioned what happened, and the guy threw them into a reject box, so I'm assuming that may happen quite often? Either way,
I did love the added humiliation of being rescued in the shark tank.
After we lazy rivered for a bit, we grabbed some mini-donuts and were on our way back to the GF. We swam in the pool there for a while, and I must say, the slide there is tons of fun!! Once we were all watered out, we went back to the room to shower and get ready for some DTD!!
I was soooo in the mood to shop, but for some reason nothing caught my eye that night. Or at least not yet!! Mal found her Donald squishee in the Toy Store, and then we went to Earl for dinner. 1) I love sandwiches. 2) They have Cherry Coke there. A perfect meal for this gal!! We decided to wander over to PI since it would be closing soon, and were just in time to get into the Comedy Warehouse. This place was a BLAST! Mal and I each got a drink, laughed our heads off, and I even got to participate, due to the fact that I'm from a small town and will volunteer for just about anything. After that was over, we made our way though all the places, just checking them out inside (everything was pretty dead) and then check in to the Adventurer's Club, which was packed and we were late, so we didn't know what was happening. So we left and finished up our shopping on the West End.
It was here that I make my wonderful discovery..."The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts about the Worlds Greatest Man". Now, Mal and I were both a bit buzzed from the drinks, but this book still cracks me up, so I say it was a good buy! We were just standing in the middle of the Virgin Megastore, with me gasping out "facts" while Mal laughed and cried and clutched her belly. I know for a fact we looked totally drunk and crazy. After we calmed down, I bought the book, and we left DTD via bus. The bus that stopped at a million places before our hotel, including Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Poly. Sweet lord. Good thing we had Chuck Norris to keep us company! Here are a few of my favourite ones that are PG enough to post on here.
Chuck Norris makes onions cry.
If you can see CN, he can see you. If you can't see CN, you may be only seconds away from death.
Love means CN never has to say he's sorry.
and one more...
Ghosts are actually caused by CN killing people faster than Death can process them.
I hope you enjoyed those. My mom thinks they are beyond stupid, and my dad laughs every time tell him one. So they aren't for everyone.
By the time we got back to the hotel room, the laugh fest had tired us out completely, so we crashed.
Up Next - Day 11 already? I lose Mal at MGM, is that rain, parents try and pimp their sons to us and will we see Fantasmic? Stay tuned!
