We're back... and shocked!!!

Ok- well, we just got back about an hour ago... sigh... I miss the Fort already but we are needed here so we're here... anyway...

We were originally booked into a premium site for the weekend, which is crazy with a pop up but supposedly it was the only level left. we lucked out and were able to downgrade to a partial the day before we left That saved a ton of money!!!

We pulled in around 1pm on Friday and were assigned site 1516- which was awesome- I love being close to the pool and the site backed up to the canal so there was a ton of room for the boys to run around.

Matt told me he thought he saw TCD lurking around the 900 loop taking pictures but didnt want to interrupt his work

Goba mom was a few sites down from us, but everytime we went by, no one was home. Same with clkelly- people over in the 2000 loop must have thought we were stalking them or something We did meet Lornaduck and her husband and were having a nice little chat until my 5yo decided to head but me and split my lip open! So we had to go back for ice... sigh...

We were shocked to see that the 1800, part of 1600 and part of 1900 were closed. They were apparently renovating the comfort station so it was pretty much like a ghost town around there.

The biggest shock (for us anyway) was Friday night as I was walking to refill my mug at Trails End someone screams my name. My first thought was that it was someone from Dis so I turn to see who it is- and it was 3 of my cousins that I havent seen for over 2 years!!!! It turns out they were staying in the cabins for the week- small world... No one in my family tells me anything now that we live down here! So it was really cool getting to spend time with them!!!

All in all it was a great weekend! Nice meeting up with some Dis'rs

I ran into my uncle last year when we were there for spring break. Hadn't seen him in a while before that. You got lucky getting 1500 loop. It's been said to be hard to get since a lot of the pop up and tenters request it. I like riding thru 2000 loop but it is out of the way.

I was happy to see I wasn't the only one out at midnight looping while the wife was sleeping.

It was great meeting you. How is your lip? Is that why the 1600 & 1800 loops were almost empty, I was afraid that they were turing them into preimiuim loops. We were on site 1701 and that was a great site. I had faxed in asking for 1600, told them my DH used a scooter and needed to be close to the bus stop. I asked that they didn't put us in 1900, I was very happy with the site that we got, but it wasn't 1600 considering that it was mostly empty, I guess the fax doesen't work.

Well that is welcome news, the 1800 CS has been in need of renovation for some time! I was shocked the first time I used a CS in 300 and saw that it was more like the Hilton to 1800's State Park!

Sorry we missed seeing you. We were at the parks alot. Loved our site--we could almost see the pool from there!

I noticed those sites were empty, too when I took a walk around one day. My DH overheard some CMs talking in the 1500 cs about plans for comfort stations, he thought they were talking about building a new one. I guess they were just discussing the reno. So much for my big scoop.

Sorry you missed us!! We didn't see ANYBODY around the Fort. We did Loop through 1500, but didn't see any green signs. You also would have thought 2000 was being shut down on Sunday and Monday. We got back from the parks Sunday afternoon and it was EMMMMMMPTY (HELLOOO) (Hello, Hello, Hello
