I have to say our trip was amazing. I'm working on my trip report so I'll be adding to that when I can.
Here's just a few of my thoughts though on a few things:

Downtown Disney: First time I had seen it...I really liked it a lot. We had a lot of fun at the Build A Bear, good lunch at Rainforest...and wow what a great Disney store. Wish there were more bathrooms though.

Desert Inn & Suites: Room, just standard but it was clean and pretty spacious. No complaints really except for the white crusty stuff on the comforter on the bed my son slept in. Glad I usually throw them off anyway. Staff..front desk anyway horrible...more about that in the trip report.

Disneyland: Memorable, yet tearful to see it through my sons eyes. Happy tears of course. We had so many wonderful moments that will last us a lifetime. My HUGE complaint though was the lack of characters. I understand the whole "low season" thing....but families plan vacations years in advanced and dream of meeting characters, it's dissapointing when you only see them on a parade float. That was the case with Donald Duck, that was the only time we saw him was on the parade float. Goofy and Pluto though were on every corner. As for princesses??? They must ONLY hang out in the princess area now....that's a real shame. We did see Snow White and Cinderella once in CA..they took pics and signed books for less than 5 minutes though. Very dissapointing.

Rides: Great...I loved Indiana Jones...that was my first time riding it. I was kinda jipped though because it broke down my first time and they carried the step stool around for everyone to get off of it and walk the rest of the way out..so needless to say the ending was spoiled for me. But wow..with the lights on..very cool..more in trip report

CA: Ok ok..I chickened out on Tower of Terror.......waited in line with a fastpass and everything. Got on, buckled my seatbelt and said forget this. My chest literally hurt. I couldn't do it........call me a wimp..but man hearing what others were saying and how they looked coming off of it...I couldn't do it.
Screaming AWESOME!!!!!
The design of the park....NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!! I know you spend the day walking ..but having to backtrack in that park is horrible. I dreaded going there for that reason alone. It would have been SO easy for them to make it like Dland where one land opens to the next, but this is like you're in a culdesac.

Weather: Hotter than we were expecting the first few days, cooled off nicely at night.......it was perfect

So much more to come in my trip report with MORE pictures than you could ever ask for.

Oh and we saw the dream team too...but never got dreams. Oh and where were all the other dis'ers...I never saw one lime green mickey :(
Albort....were you selling Churros on tues or wed between small world and the matterhorn?:cool2:

Glad to hear you had a great time!

You really have to be on the lookout for characters. We saw around 20+ last year in March but we were really hunting and literally CHASING them down, lol. My DH thought I was crazy.

Can't wait for the trip report and pics!

We were there March 13-16. Must have been in the right spot at the right time as we saw tons of characters. We saw a bunch inside the building that has the talking Crush character.

Sounds like you had a great trip. I get all teary just thinking about my trip to DL with my son, I don't know how I'm going to deal with it while I'm there - take along lots of tissues I guess :rotfl:

I guess I just wasn't expecting the majority of characters to be in CA. We saw a few there but not many. I didn't care for that park much at all.

And yes Ozbrooke, the tissues will come in handy. It's a whole other world when you're there with your own children compared to how we saw it ourselves as kids. I cried through most of the fireworks. It brought back so many memories ....and now I'm a divorced mom that worked really hard to give my son his first week in Disneyland and it just inspired me so much to keep on going so I can do this again with him. My boyfriend took a picture of my son and I right after the fireworks that I will always cherish. Although I'm standing there with red, tearful eyes......my son has his hand on my cheek thanking me for taking him to Disneyland. That was the best moment of my entire trip.

Glad you had a great time!!! I was waiting for you to get back. Sorry to hear about Desert Inn, I've never had a single problem there and I was hoping you wouldn't! But I don't deal with the front desk AT ALL except to check in so I can't comment about their Customer Service!!

Sorry about lack of characters, we usually see a ton on Main Street in the AM. Also how did you go on Indiana and Screamin, I know your 3 year old can't possibly be tall enough and it was just you and him right? Glad you did get to go on them though, they are some of my favorites!! Never mind, I just read above that your boyfriend must have went to, right?

We really like DCA but it can get very hot over there!! Hope you get to go again and explore it some more next time!!

Andrea

Yea Andrea that was the only time we dealt with the front desk too...thank goodness. I would DEFINITELY stay there again....you could just tell they were bored with their jobs and well...not employed by Disney hehehe :lmao:

And yes..my boyfriend went, along with my sister and her entire family so I did have a chance to do the bigger rides. :)

I'm working on my trip report a bit at a time...I just updated it a bit with some pictures..I'll be adding to it when I can. I got so many pictures ....thank goodness for a 2gb memory card :)

Mommywithdreams, I'm a divorced mum too so I know how it is! My ex is actually flying DS and I to the US to visit him (we're in Australia), and I've dipped into my savings to do the extra 4 days in Disneyland at the end of our visit. I know it's going to be SO worth it!

You betcha...it's worth every single penny! You and your son will have a wonderful time I'm sure of it!

Wow, it sounds like a lot more ups and downs. Glad you had such a nice time visiting with your little one. I remember taking mine when they were young - those are my memories, and I enjoy them. :)

Oh good I am glad it wasn't too bad!! Most of the places on Harbor have decent customer service, but like you said, it's not anything extra!!

Glad you got in some bigger rides!! What was DS's favorite? And now the big question is......When is your next trip :lmao:

His favorite??? Well...I'd say it was a tie between Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh. Which the Dumbo thing really suprised me because he was really skiddish with a ride we did similiar during the spring of last year. Guess it was the magic of a flying elephant. As for Winnie the Pooh...he just busted up laughing when Pooh's legs are the only thing showing when he's head first in the honey. I have never been a big Pooh fan myself...and the ride was totally not what I expected when it came to Pooh...it was so ..ummm bright and lively, when Pooh seems so slowwwwww and shhh boring. :rolleyes1
I wish the next trip was tomorrow :rotfl: .......but no such luck for that. I hope the same time next year....but I'm really going to see if I can plan a little something for his birthday or a week within it anyway. He's a Halloween baby so I got time to save :)

Glad you had a great time. We were there Mon also, it was the hotest day and had the busy entry we were a lot farther out in the plaza then Sat or Sun.

There is nothing like seeing DL through your kids eyes.
