Highs

The weather ... and not many people have been saying that lately! It was sunny and warm - no rain at all for the four days we were there. In fact Wednesday afternoon was so hot we took ourselves off to Val d'Europe for a few hours to cool down (and a lovely meal at the Japanese restaurant)!

World of Disney ... lovely lovely shop, not much 'exclusive' merchandise as people have commented, but still a nice shop.

Sales ... Last visit I thought everything was very very expensive even with a 20% discount ... this week, lots of reductions, picked up a 30 euro watch for 7, a baseball cap for 5 down from 14, a bag for 5 from 20 and loads of vinylmation magnets for 1 euro each. Means the family are getting much better gifts this time!

Seeing Dreams (which I didn't manage to stay up for last time!) and Fantillusion and Tarzan which weren't on last visit, Dreams is very clever, and I enjoyed it (but it didn't reduce me to tears like I was expecting!), really enjoyed Fantillusion and the warm weather meant sitting on the curb was quite pleasant! Tarzan was as good as I remembered it!

being on the first parachute ride of the day ... I love that ride!!

Lows

Crowds ... it was BUSY, queues were long and we didn't do as much as I'd have liked.

Fast food ... cold, really poor quality (I thought we'd been unlucky last time but no) no wonder Earl of Sandwich is always busy!

Train reliability ... I've learnt my lesson ... having booked the Eurostar changing at Lille a) to save money and b) to give us a fighting chance of a connecting train back to Liverpool coming home ... it wasn't worth the hassle ... a delay on the Eurostar coming out meant we scraped into Lille with 6 minutes to make the connection - how we did it I'm not sure but we did! No idea what would have happened if we hadn't made it? Would we have been able to use the tickets on a later train? Similarly coming home the train to Lille was delayed (luckily for us only by 10 minutes, the previous one was 90 minutes late) and again I was worrying about missing the train. In hindsight I'd have been far less worried and more able to cope if we'd missed the train back to Liverpool so lesson learnt. If we went again by Eurostar I'd go direct!

Welcome back :wave2: so nice to see the weather being a high for a change! :goodvibes

oh i love a good sale can you tell me the shops where the best bargins where please as we will be there tomorrow x would love to buy a cheap watch x

Cheap watches were in the store at the disney studios that is on your left as you enter in the courtyard (can't remember its name) the reduced things were all near the far door, watches were blue, purple or orange - chunky plastic ones. They had t shirts, underwear, socks, bags, toy story ears etc. Disney clothiers on Main Street had adult clothes and bags and jewellery. Sir Mickeys had kids stuff reduced. One of the Disney Village shops had large SOLDES signs in the window (near the lake next to to the toy shop) and a good range of reductions. There were random reductions in other stores ... Tinkerbell and fairy tutu/wings/headdress sets down from 40 to 20 I think. Kids Big Thunder Mountain hoodies for 10 euro. I love a good sale ... and I was impressed they still honoured the 20% reduction with my annual pass so some really good bargains! Happy shopping :)

Welcome back and nice to see some different highs :goodvibes

You picked the best week of July that we've had so far ;)

We like the Japanese as well at Val d'Europe and it makes a change to eat over there than in the parks

Will have to go and check out these watches next week as I've seen them on another forum and they look good, especially at that price :thumbsup2
