Hey everybody!! We had a FABULOUS time!!! I love California!! I love Disneyland!! :D So trip report to follow....but a few quick thoughts..

1. The Dis rocks! Food tips were excellent....didn't have a bad meal

2. I think I got enough maps to fill all the requests and will mail out this week

3. California Adventure was FUN!!!!! Screamin is AWESOME!!

4. The fireworks were worth waiting for

5. Fantasmic was cancelled on Sunday :(

6. Low crowds Sun-Tues., empty parks Wed., low on Thursday and PACKED on Friday! :)

7. We stayed 4 nights at Hojo (great) and 2 nights at the GCH which was awesome! That entrance into CA is very very nice!

8. GRR was NOT in refurb!! YAY!!!

Anyway, we really had a great time and I'm going to try to do the trip report tonight...

Any questions, let me know!

Shelly

Glad you had such a great time! And I can't wait to read the TR... :)

SO glad to hear you had a great time! Can't wait to hear your trip report, esp the food....I'm trying to plan that now :)
We're staying at HoJo so I'm glad you were happy there too.

Can you give me an idea on your wait times and crowds for eating, etc.? We are going in this Tue. evening and will have Wed.-Fri. at the parks. Is Fri. during the day busy too?

Well, our wait times on Wed. were non-existent....5-10 minutes max. Walked onto most rides. We got Fastpasses and Rider Switches, but didn't need them. Friday was busy all day and night. 45-60 minutes for Space etc. Also, be aware that a lot of the Fastpass rides, were NOT fastpassable while we were there. At CA only Screamin and Soarin were FP rides.

As far as food, we found that if one "land" was busy, there were others that weren't. RR Pizza Port was SO crowded (line way out the door) and so we walked over to Frontierland and ate with no wait at the Golden Horseshoe.

If you eat early it's not an issue though.

Anything we had a Priority seating for we were seated quickly.

The Hojo was great! Nice rooms, pretty roomy and the staff was nice. The pool was great...Yes, we swam a few times! :) The weather was awesome!
We had a theme park view room so that was fun.

We ate the Fusilli at Pizza Port which was really good....The corn chowder at DCA's pacific wharf was great! The turkey sandwich too. Goofy's and Lilo and Stitch were good buffets...Oh, and we LOVED Mimi's! We ate there Tues, and Wed. after the park closed and we didn't wait and it was really good food and awesome service.

There are lots of places to get salad and fruit in the parks too. Anyway, I should go write the rest of my trip report! :)

Thanks for the info. We are looking to try and get all the major rides done on Wed. and Thurs, capitalize on EE when we can and take it easy on Friday. My five year old will not be cool with waiting for 45-60 min. May do some of the shows, etc.

Glad you had a wonderful trip, I agree DL is the best!!! After reading this, now I am even more excited to go next week!

How was the weather? I am thinking of putting a trip together for March and want to get there before it gets to hot and before spring break. From one Seattleite to another, was it warm to you?

Glad you had a great trip!
Hoping I will have similar wait times during my stay (in parks Feb 5-8).

I want to do all the dark rides in Fantasyland over and over again.. love those!

We almost always end up in T-shirts during the day, but early morning and evening you need a sweatshirt or light jacket over it!

2. I think I got enough maps to fill all the requests and will mail out this week

Excellent way to get maps is to play a game, whenever you see a Custodial CM, ask them for a map... When you go home, See how many maps you get ^_^

Matterhorn is right...we wore t-shirts with sweatshirts over them in the early morning...by about 11 sweatshirts were off....then we wore them again at night...my little ones wore gloves as well... The first few nights were chilly.

Gotta love Mimi's! Thanks for the trip report and I hope the crowds are light for me in May.

Does Mimi deliver to HoJo's?

They do not deliver, but it is a very cute resturaunt with great food .

Does Mimi deliver to HoJo's?

NO, but you can call ahead for a table (no wait) or to place an order.

They pack up take-out orders very nicely.. plates, silverware, napkins, hot items in insulated containers, cold items seperate. Lots of items from the bread basket, knives and butter.
On a solo trip I stopped in on the way back to Hojo's, placed my order and waited less than 10 minutes for their cornchowder. Big container of soup, soup spoon, napkin, knife, butter and three different things from the bread basket for one person!
Saved my carrot bread for breakfast.. mmmmmm.

Picked up muffins on the way to park on our last trip.. they are HUGE! Not liking the whipped butter packed with order.. flavorless. Muffins were yummy.
