If you've spent any amount of time in the the Cruise Line Forum, you know that people highly enjoy their experience at Palo. So there's not much more for me to add. Dinner there is great, and the brunch is absolutely amazing. And for only $20/$25 ($15 for us... i think) extra, I think it's worth it.

One thing I didn't notice during our first cruise, was this mural in the back room. The only reason I saw it this time, was because our table was directly outside of this room, and my seat was facing it. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures. They had no problem with this of course; and the waiter even snapped a couple of shots of me and my wife in front of it.

Neat! I've never seen that mural -- we've never been seated that far into the restaurant.

If you want to get some great pictures of the ship, or front it, literally wake up before the crack of dawn. Not only does the early morning light give the ship a great warm glow, but you'll be able to see some AMAZING sunrises!!!!

You've really got an eye - your pics are great. I love this one! We were on this cruise too. Lots of fun! Thanks so much for the report - have enjoyed reading it/looking at your pics!

I absolutely loved our servers from the cruise. We had Toney (from St. Vincent), and Anna (from Sweden). And considering we had a table of just adults, I think they could more be themselves; instead of maybe a little more "cheesy and pleasant" (I can't think of the proper wording now.... it's been a long lazy sunday ;) ). I think they got a kick out of my wife and her sometimes unique ordering habits. She's not too too picky or anything, she just makes ordering a fun process (and I mean that seriously). :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Not bad. If I were to add and of my photo's you wouldn't know anyone (2004 cruise:lovestruc)

I don't think that this would be the best picture to sell someone on the idea of doing this excursion. ;) Another shot of our downhill rainforest trek. If I remember correctly, we actually went toward the back of this tree. There were some pretty 'nice' paths all the way down. We didn't have to cut our way through brush or anything.

A little late to the party, sorry! I have enjoyed your pics on the Photo Boards and as we are going on our first cruise in December, the pictures are even more meaningful.

You do have a great eye. I did have a couple of photo specific questions.

Does Disney count your photo bag as your carry-on or can you bring a carry on AND a photo backpack?

Second question, on those "early morning" shots, how early did you have to get up to get that light? I don't want to miss that kind of opportunity!!

Thanks!

My camera bag at the time was only a smaller shoulder bag. So it fit my DSLR, but that was about it. And I don't think they counted it as a carry-on.

And the early morning shots were right as sunrise. The daily Navigator was pretty accurate in saying when the sunrise/sunset times would be (but around 7 AM for those). But one thing to be aware of is the fact that your camera might fog up... on the inside no less (at least mine did). Going from a cold room to that humid morning sea air wasn't fun for my little friend. :guilty:

So if you do go out there, you might wanna go out early, to give your camera time to defog. One idea I've heard mentioned (if you have balcony) is to sit your camera outside overnight. Then your camera will already be used to that air.

I got to ride in the front of our tour van, because that was the only seat left (even the guide had to just sit on the console). This was extremely fitting, considering I probably took the most the pictures among everyone in the group (most came from this front seat though... and most weren't very good). ;)

It's always great to take in the views to, and from, your excursion spot. This was out on the water in St. Thomas, during the Captain Nautica snorkeling. I believe I mentioned it before, but our tour guides were magnificent. And because we had time to spare, we were able to take an extended route back to the Disney Magic. :thumbsup2

Your cruise report was awesome! I am so excited to see all the photos and hear what you did! Dbf and I can't wait to go on our 7 night Caribbean cruise on the magic! Can we bring you along to take all our photos? ;)

OMG - the one of the ship at night at St. Maarten ---> LOVE IT!!! Beautiful pictures!

Your pics are gorgeous! Those are the most beautiful pics I have seen of the Magic.

Not sure if you are still checking this report or not - but those pictures are stunningly beautiful!

I am looking for a new camera to buy for our cruise, but I'm not very advanced. Is there a point and shoot that you recommend? I am comfortable with Canon's, but am willing to branch out.

Thanks so much.

Looking through your pictures made me so excited for our upcoming cruise on the Magic :lovestruc

Thank you all!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I have a Canon p&s also; but don't use it too much. It takes pretty good pictures though (Canon Powershot SD960 IS). I basically just went to Best Buy and "picked" one. It was mainly for my wife; and she's not into photography. So needless to say, no big p&s recommendations from me. Sorry. But I'm sure that any Canon you decide to go with should be sufficient.

Love your photos- thanks for sharing them!:goodvibes
