We're AKV Founding members!!!!

Do you have to be a member to buy the points at AKV? How many do you have to buy?

Correct me if I'm wrong someone! You do have to be a member to purchase akv now. Presales end on February 28. Then non dvc members will be able to purchase. If you're already a member you can buy as little as 50 points at $101 a point. If you purchased I think 100 or 150 points then your price is $93 a point.

We are founding members as well. We debated back and forth between 100- 150 points and at the last minute this morning decided on 150 points. Congratulations to all our new AKL neighbors.

Now if I can just get my friend to buy into DVC when AK is open to the public. She wants to own a piece of the magic. But she keeps hestitating. I think once she does, she will be like the rest of us and wished she had done so earlier.

We are founding members too! Guide called me back as I was driving into work! Purchased at 55 mph (handsfree, of course)!

Those of you wanting to buy less than 150 points and are waiting to purchase in a couple weeks may have to wait longer. FWIW my guide said based on initial demand that they expect the available points to be gone before Feb 28th. I got my 60 point purchase in this morning.

That's exactly why I don't think the Feb 28th date means anything for the deadline to become a founding member. Allocated points for the presale will be gone LONG before that.

I'm a new member, too, of AKL!
Where do I find the mockup to put in my signature.
Thanks, Deb

The only one I've seen is the one I'm using and I got that from another member. You can copy it to use, too.

I wonder if they'll do something similar to the tapestry for those of us that have to buy when the pts go on sale to the public..

Probably not, but I do wonder.

Our guide Betty was just as excited as me! We will be on the tapestry! I can't wait for my first trip home to AKV!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: See you there neighbors!:cool1:

I think you are 100% correct. When the 35,000 points are gone, that's it until Kidana is built. I would be suprised to see Founder's Spots open after Feb 17th or so....

But like everything else about AKV, who really knows. Still no official point charts!

(I hope the real charts aren't like triple what I posted! :crazy2: )

Hold the phone. Are you saying only these 35k points, for existing dvc members, will be available until the new building is built? Nothing for a public on sale date?

That makes no sense.....If there are 130 some odd rooms, at 365 days of availalbility, in the existing lodge, that works out to something like 1.5 to 2 million available points in the existing lodge. Why would they hold off on those points?

I buy into only 35k points being available as a courtesy to existing members until the "on sale" date to the public, but I have a hard time with "only 35k points available until the new building goes up".

Are you sure on that one? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding you! I sure hope so!!!

But aren't they starting to sell to the general public on March 1? I think they must have points available to sell, but they may be 2008 points (which would be after the Kidana building is open...)

I though min. add on's were 25 points?:confused3

I don't think disney would hold off points for existing member so they could sell them to non members. now that wouldn't make any sense

except for Add on problem we all get. :)

See, and I don't think Disney would want to hit the public on sale date with nothing to sell.

I don't think it's a matter of holding points BACK from current members as it is ensuring that Disney has product to sell to EVERYONE (remember, current members can still buy after the public on sale date). And the fact they may want to only sell a certain number of points at a discount.

Anyway, here's hoping Tony will chime in and clarify......I'd just be really surprised if 35k points is IT until the new building OPENS. And I wouldn't understand why...
