I hadn't been since 6/3, and my mom is visiting from Houston and had never been to DL (WDW a couple of times many years ago). It was a little warm (upper 80s maybe), but not crowded at all!
We ended up getting there around a half an hour after opening, and rode the Matterhorn first. We were in line no more than 5 minutes. Then we went into Toontown to Mickey's house. I was shocked - we were the only people walking through the house at the time, and when we got to the movie barn, there was no line! I've been to DL many times on weekdays in winter and have never seen the queue for Mickey empty!
My mom went on Space Mountain while DS and I went on Buzz, and she didn't even get a Fastpass and waited no more than 20 minutes. The wait for BTMRR in the afternoon was 5-10 minutes.
Another exciting aspect of the day was that there were a TON of characters out, and the lines weren't crazy.
We saw Mickey and Minnie together on Main Street, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, the Fairy Godmother, and Jack Sparrow by the Baby Care Center.
In DCA, we saw Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale, and even Stitch, and we never left the front plaza area and backlot (went to the Playhouse Disney show, walked around the animation building, did some shopping, and then went back to DL).
My mom was thrilled because her birthday is Saturday, so I had her get a birthday pin at City Hall, and she loved all the birthday wishes she got!
