I called early Saturday and Disney told me all they had was a $400 room at the Polynesian. I called two hours later and they had a $79 Fla. resident room at the All Star Music. We left at 4:30 and arrived at 7 p.m. The buses were running late thus we had to wait a half an hour to get on. We arrived at MK at 8:00 p.m. and in three hours rode Small World, Pooh ride, Toontown coaster (3 times), Philharmagic, Dumbo, Snow White's Scary Adv., Grand Prix, and also got all three Princess autographs at Toontown. In addition we had time for a dog at Casey's. We met people on the bus who stated that there was no line at Splash Mountain at night, probably due to the cold night. There was no delay in getting the buses back to the hotel at 11:00 p.m.
The next day, April 3rd, we arrived at 11:00 a.m. We took the train straight for Splash Mountain. There was only a 10 minute wait thus we rode Splash Mountain twice. We rode the Mill coaster once and got a fast pass for another ride on it. After the first Mill ride we went right onto Pirates on the Carribean (no wait). When that ride ended we used our fast pass for the Mill coaster. It was approximately 12:30 p.m. at that time and we could see the park starting to jam up. The wait for Splash was 40 minutes and the Mill coaster had a 40 minute wait also. We hopped on the train and went to Toontown and it looked busy. The Toontown coaster had a 40 minute wait thus we passed on it. We decided on more dogs at Casey's. While my wife and daughter ate, I ran and got a fast pass for Peter Pan's Flight. It was for 5:00 p.m. (I got the pass at 1:30 p.m). We then waited 30 minutes for an ice cream sundae at Mrs. Potts (the best deal at Disney). We went in some shops and got another fast pass for Philharmagic. We were able to get the Philharmagic pass at around 3:30 and go on the attraction by 4:15. I have to say, it was real busy from 1:00 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. After going on Peter Pan's flight, Philharmagic, and the Carousel, we left at 5:30 p.m. It appeared that on the way out, the crowds were thinning.
It was a great spur of the moment trip. It appears you don't have to wait in too long of lines later at night and early in the day. We met others who told us that the crowds earlier in the week were much larger than on Sunday. I hope this helps any of you who are going this week.
