with company money! $83 later and there is a nice BIG box (thank you Staples) full of goodies ready to go off tomorrow to a FPO box.

Thanks for all the posts with suggestions...I stuffed as much into this box as I could.

The son of one of our customers should get a pleasant surprise!

Now this is the fun part of my job!

It's a great feeling, isn't it? Sending a care package to someone in our military is a small but satisfying contribution :)

I often think that my soldier can't possibly get half the enjoyment from receiving the package that I get from sending it. :)

I read a response from a Desert Storm veteran who said that when the boxes arrive, some of the guys just sit and hold it for a few minutes (because they know it came from "home", and when they do open it, they go through it very carefully, examining every item inside.

We just don't realize what our good will gestures mean to these guys.;)

Let me tell you I PACKED the box. I had it from a previous order at Staples and saved the box, figuring I'd use it for something. Went to Target and really went to town. Came out with three bags full and didn't think I'd get it all into my one box. But being a woman who can pack a suitcase to the gills when going to WDW, I knew how to place the stuff in there. There's not much room for air in between the snack cakes, gum, puzzle books, rice crispie treats, etc.

And I got plenty of sun block which I put in ziploc baggies (see I knew WDW tips would come in handy).

Tomorrow it's off to the post office!

I couldn't agree more!

Mailed it today (no one was in the post office --- one good thing about slogging about in the pouring rain). It was over 11 pounds! I guess I was really generous with my company's credit card! :)

Wish I could be a fly on the wall when this package reaches it's destination. What is this guy going to think we he gets a package from a plumbing company? Is he even going to have a chance to read the letter that is enclosed or is he going to dig through all the stuff jammed in there. Maybe I should have put the disposable camera on the top of the package so he could take a picture of his own reaction and send it to me! :)

Oh Laura you are soooo right !! I have so much fun putting my packages together. I'm really like a kid in a candy store when I go through the grocery store. "Oooh they'll like some of these and a few of those and, oh my, those will be perfect !!!" LOL

I have such a sense of pride when I put my soldier's name and APO on the box.
