Actually from 901 you would pick up 61 & 487 or take the 54 & 487 rt down the mountain which is quicker. Actually I am coming from Allentown and use 61 to 42 in Ashland and drive around Centralia, over two picturesque mountains and into Numidia where I turn left at the sign for the Broken Wheel Bison ranch, keep on this road for a few miles until you see the sign for Knoebels/Elysburg while going down a hill (just past the ranch). From here the road is very narrow as it follows the creek and dumps you out at the back side of the parking lot. Avoids the traffic jams at the light on the entrance side. This is NOT a road for campers although I have met a few on it and held my breath that I wouldnt be pushed over the bank. This is a gorgeous drive in the fall. This route is also much quicker than the 54 & 487 route if you are coming off 61 either direction.
