Edited to add: Oooohhh... I found it... it's the Imperial March. She's still not going to know what it is - Star Wars is not from her generation.... It's like how you and I wouldn't know if someone played a Hannah Montana song at their wedding....

I think it would be hilarious, but then again, I have been pissing off DBF's family a lot lately. I told his brother that durian (really stinky Asian fruit) would not be eaten in my house in front of his mother. He lives with us and she had the nerve to get pissed because I was telling her son what to do. (The durian rule applies to everyone in our house.) Grr!

Anyways, I would find it funny to play that, as would most of my friends and family (they just expect that), but I would never hear the end of it from her.

I guess it depends on how long you want to hear about what you've done wrong with you wedding. When you have your own daugther's wedding, would you want to hear her complain about that song?

I hear what you're saying. My family & friends and even Chuck's friends would get a kick out of it. His family, not so much...

Really, I think this is one of those times when it's OK not to care whether or not FMIL thinks it's proper. It's not her wedding, you have the wedding you want, etc. , etc.

Okay, you guys...


I stole some ideas off of this board from various people and put them together for my vision of my Welcome bags. I don't remember specifically where I got each idea. So if I don't name you, I'm sorry.

My welcome bags look like this...

They're a lot smaller than I realized when I bought them. I got them off of ebay for $2.44 each including shipping! I thought they were a great deal.

In them I'm putting 2 mini bottles of water
-a rigid cone (favor supply container type thingy) filled with nuts

-a bag of pretzels, a granola bar

-small pillow boxes (that are frosted with the clear parts reading different sizes of love) filled with personalized M & Ms with our names on some and WDW and 2/4/08 on others

-A bag of candy (chocolates and surgar candies) in the hawaiian shirt cello bags tied with differnt colors of ribbon with little matted tags that say Remember, love is sweet... Enjoy the Sugar Rush, in the Disney font (I for sure stole this from Caryn w/o permission, lol)

-Another plain cello bag filled with travel size tissues, purell, sunblock and disney band-aids.

This bag is going to be folded over and sealed with these lables...

The only reason I have picture of these is because I just made them here at work. I'll try to take pictures of everything else I can tonight if FSIL hasn't packed it already b/c most of this is being purchased in disney (the water, candy, nuts and pretzels) (edit: pictures have obviously been added!)

And then finally, each bag will be topped off with a mahalo lei since our Welcome dinner is at Ohana. I got the leis from Oriental Trading. They're not the most expensive, but they're not the cheapies either... For some reason though, my two dozen only came with the left two color combos? I just realized that today!

Finally, I made name tags out of the Behr Mickey Head Paint Chips you can get from home depot. I had them laying around (in my scrapbook room) so I used at black sharpie and just wrote everyones name on them, punched holes in them and thread them with different color ribbons. I'll try to get pics tonight if they're not packed away already!

I also did the tags and cut the ribbon for the JAs... So, all Christie has to do is put them together. We went with "Chuck and Wendy February 4, 2008"
but I really wanted to use this and I even printed them... "Best Wishes For Chuck & Wendy, Welcome Dinner February 2, 2008, Hosted by: Mr. and Mrs. K******" Alas, they would have overpowered the little bundles of JAs, so I went with the first ones, unmatted with inked edges!

These won't be in the welcom bags. We're putting them at the place settings at Ohana.

And here's everything packed away in Christie's carry-on!!

Okay, I emailed Kathleen for the change. She probably won't respond until tomorrow.

I left work and went tanning and then I had to run home to drop something off for my sister to pick up. So while I was home I took pictures of everything that we have so far for the welcome bags...

I'll post up tonight or tomorrow. Then I helped FSIL pack it all in a carry-on. She leaves tomorrow for FL.

Okay, you guys, I can't believe how close it is and I'm totally freaking out. I've given myself a 10 minute time limit and then I gotta get back to my homework. I'm sitting in the computer lab and haven't started the last two assignments yet. And I've only got two hours left!!! First I sit down and get a call from my Mom, then my Sister, then my Mom again. Heck I've been in the stairwell more than I've been in the lab.

All I can say is that I can't this believe this is happening. I'm sooo ready to be married but I so am not ready for this wedding. I think my freaking out is irrational and disproportionate to issues at hand, but I can't seem to calm myself down. AND food and me our not friends at all. Nothing sounds appealing and I can't get anything down.

OH and here's a Too Much Information Alert!!!! ATTENTION, IF YOU ARE A DUDE OR A CHICK WHO DOESN'T TALK ABOUT PERSONAL STUFF... DON'T SCROLL DOWN!

















I'm so stressed out that I'm having heavy break-through bleeding despite being in the middle of my pill pack. I even went on sunday to get another pack b/c I'm just going to skip the placebos and roll into a new pack while we're in Flordia (checked with my doc and she said it was fine.) So, that's really irritating and I feel bloated and I just want the bleeding to END. The hater blockers are for Aunt Flo! lolol.


Okay, sorry if that was too much! Now I'm going to actually do some work!!

Ok, so where in the ceremony does the Imperial March fit? It would be hysterical if it was as you are walking down the aisle to the groom, start with the first few bars of the traditional stuff to get everyone's attention then into the Star Wars stuff. I would SO do it!!

Also, I wanted to let you know that I know there is another bride getting married the same day at the Morocco pavilion in the morning. Her name is Carrie. They are then taking a boat from somewhere to somewhere... but we're thinking that we may end up in the vicinity of eachother at the same time. (at BWI right before my wedding.) We don't HAVE to coordinate a meeting, but if we come across each other, PLEASE DO NOT keep us apart. We want to meet and we would love to get a picture in our dresses together. We're all about disrupting the space-time continuum! ha ha!!

Sorry Carrie that I'm a soo frazzled that I couldn't keep your schedule straight... I think you're coming from the attic going to Epcot? That doesn't seem right... I'm confused. Now I have to go back and reread your PJ.

I've heard of brides calling their new mother-in-laws Darth Vader, but never themselves! - As for you and Carrie meeting up, as long as we know you're both okay with it then we won't try to keep you apart. If you are in the same place at the same time and neither one of you is running late for anything, you can definitely get a picture together. I really need some wedding stress too! The only time that I can't eat when I get stressed is when it has to do with DBF. For my own sanity and health, I prefer to be stressed over everything else! I'll try to convince my self that the I-must-look-good-in-a-bathing-suit-in-San-Diego stress will make me stop eating. It's tough since I love good food.

Wendy, I'll be in Detroit for a TKD tournament in July! You'll have to tell me about some of the good Moraccan places out there!
