Well we've done it again!

Well like I said, we've done it again and booked to go with my DW, DD and a friend (not sure on the abreviation) from the 12th Aug for 17 nights. Booked the home @ Indian Creek for 14 nights then 3 nights @ AKL. Booked the flight with United Airlines, the only thing we really need is the car, so any suggestions for rental companies or websites will be appreciated.

We have always gone to WDW in Oct/Nov/Dec so any bits of advice on how to survive the crowds and heat will again be greatly appreciated. One of the things that I really don't understand is ADRs, we really want to go to Bomas, would we need to have an ADR and if so how do we do it?

And finally someone told me that Disney are charging for fast passes, is it true? And one final, final question, is there a univesal DVD and how much do they charge for the express pass. Oops that was two

Congratulations on booking a trip. My friends FIL always uses yes car hire

For dining reservations phone 001 407 939 3463. I phoned them today and it only took 7 minutes to do all my reservations and they were really helpful.

Yes there is a dvd...check out their website, www.universalorlando.com you can also buy the express pass online....For 4 of us it worked out cheaper to have a one night stay in the royal pacific and have unlimited front of line....Have a look at the dis universal forum...lots of good info on there.

No disney aren't charging for Fast Pass. It's just a wild rumour.

In terms of car hire - we used Dolalr last year, they were fast quick easy to get to from airport and we were upgraded to a Dodge Jurango for free
We've never been in August - can't help there sorry.

we have been in august & although hot (think frizzy hais all the time!) it was bearable. We tried to get there early & then come out for a swim later before going out to eat or returning to the parks.
It wasn't too busy (late Aug '05) but I have read on these boards with free DDP it is getting busier especially towards the end of August when crowds normally drop with USA children returning to school.

We have been in August for the last 2 years although it was from the 22nd onwards.
We are booked to go again this year from the 8th August for 21 nights.
The key is to take things as they come and not get stressed out if there is a 2 hour line on a ride you want to go on. Just leave it and go on something else and return later when the line has gone down or you have a fastpass time.
We don't go to the parks in the morning we generally use this time to swim and laze by the pool as it tends not to rain so much in the mornings. We then have lunch and head off to the parks in the afternoon when everyone else is leaving because the rain has started. We dont worry about getting wet we just put on our ponchos and head off.

Did early August last year, and yes it is hot, but you can cope if you go to parks early morning, come out in afternoon, and go back in the evening avoiding the worst of it. A hat and sunblock are essential, and drink lots of water. Most of the attractions will be air conditioned so it is just getting from one to the other really. save World Showcase for late afternoon/evening as it is more bearable that way. other than that, you will have a great time. Crowds were not too bad at all, although i know the free dining starts on Aug 12th ( but had limited availability)

Disney now offer the dining plan which means you get credits to eat snacks, counter service and table service meals each day. Between Aug/Sept they often offer it free to encourage people to go. It does mean you need to book all your table service meals in advance.

So do you have to phone or can u email and this is where i get confused Do you have to book a table like we do at a restaurant over here? I know its a real stupid question but its one of those things I just don't get!

You need to phone. If you want a particular restaurant it is better to book these days.

Hell, now that is really planning!
Normally just work out which park to go to on certain days but this time we want to try and eat at different restaurants, what's the top five restaurants, but we are fussy eaters unfortunately so no seafood and just...normal food, nothing too fancy and yes we do eat fish and chips!
