And we had a great time! Although my GOD the heat on Tuesday made me such a cranky *****. Seriously. It apparently hit 96 degrees on 10/7/08 but because the parks were so crowded (another complaint) the body heat around you made it feel like it was closer to 100-105. I was NOT happy about that. At all.

Also, of the various places we ate at throughout the parks, the only places where they got our orders right were the Blue Bayou (fabulous) Riverbelle Terrace, and Storytellers....and Storyteller'ss shouldn't even count because the only reason it was correct was....we got the breakfast buffet!!

It kinda felt like the magic was missing in many, many ways. What made it special was the people I was with. Otherwise it just felt like a nicely kept theme park with cranky employees. Yes. Cranky cast members. The nicest dude we ran into was the conductor on the Timon Parking lot tram, and that was simply because there was NO ONE else on the tram at the time we rode it, so we got to chat him up. Otherwise, the CM's were either RUDE or just boring. The rudeness shocked the hell out of me.

I'll do a full trip report later once my pictures have uploaded from picasa, but I just wanted to say hey, and also thank everyone for all their great advice throughout the last few months, the places we visited and the way we did things really made the trip pretty stress free and we knew exactly what to do...all because of you. So thank you. :wizard:

My Blue Bayou experience was not fabulous (read my trip report, link is in my signature below) and I heard a couple of other DIS-ers say their recent BB visits were lacking too! So I am so glad yours went well!!! Did you get the Rain Forest Rickey at the Rainforest Cafe with the souvenir hurricane glass?

Anyway, I started a thread about having to complain to DLR after a trip, because my PPH stay and my Carnation Cafe meal were lacking, and all kinds of stuff came out from folks who have had bad experiences and what kinds of responses they got from CM's. DLR has been alarmingly unconcerned and unapologetic when people have complained of being sick form their food, having dirty hotel rooms, etc. So the rude CMs you encountered are no surprise to me now. It seems that DLR is letting their usual stellar service slip in many areas!

Anyway, I can't wait to see your photos and read your TR when you do it! I have no photos in my TR yet, but a lot of details! I did view and edit all my PhotoPass pictures, however, so I will have to order my CD!

Welcome back! Can't wait to read your TR. (Procrastinating on mine.) We were there on those HOT and crowded days too.

I decided not to go with the Rainforest Ricky. I sat down and looked at the drink menu, and everything looked so yummy!! But just about everything had pineapple in it, which I'm allergic to, so I just stuck to water that night

Welcome back!!! Sorry to hear that not all your trip was totally magical, but I hope you had fun none the less. Right now I ENVY you in 96 degree heat. Its almost freezing temperature here where I am. It soooo cold. I cant wait to read your trip report and see your wonderful picture. :)
