well......went to the doc's for the patch..

had an appt for the patch, and to discuss a drug to clear my head- (more than just that, but without explaining it all) something along the lines of adderall, or similar..non-stimulating etc.

Well- long story short- I'm now on Lexapro, (an SSRI) and didnt' get the patch. Doc thinks i'll fail, and doesnt want me to try to quit until the lexapro has done it's job.

today was day 2 on the pill- 5mg for 2 days- then 10mg from there on out. Both yesterday and today- about 6-7 hours after taking it, I was EXHAUSTED...and I do mean EXHAUSTED....going to have to play with the time I take it- so I might actually sleep at night! That would be a nice change!

I've still been cutting down on smoking, and trying to realize when I want one due to habit, or due to a nicotine want....

and am keeping notes on how I feel on this lexapro- when I get tired, does my head hurt etc..do I feel jittery etc.. so far, just tired the 2 times...1st time I was in class, and fought it off- 2nd time today I just laid down, but couldnt sleep yuck!

Hopefully the happy pill will make me happy again!

Lexapro is an antidepressant, not for quiting smoking. Zyban/Wellbutrin(also an antidepressant, but different neurotransmitter effected than with Lexapro) is for quiting smoking. Completely different drugs. You have to wean off all of these before stopping them. Be aware they carry FDA warnings. See www.fda.gov for the current list.
Lexapro can make you very tired.
