Last weekend DH met with his ex about getting DSD up to our house (the ex is moving to Florida and rejoining the Air Force). Everything was good to go, primary physical placement was changing to our house as of August 1. DH talked to DSD last night, and she said that her mom said it would be better if she moved to Florida with her, and that is what she wants to do. Last weekend DSD was soooo excited to move up to our house. She needs stability, which she does not have at mom's house. And why would mom think it would be best to move away from all her friends (at our house, she will be an hour away from her current friends, but we have no problems with her going there on the weekends to visit) and all her family (mom's whole familiy lives here, as does DH's family and my family). Now it looks like she wants to take it to Court, which we will do if need be, but don't really want to. I wrote up the stipulation papers this morning for what they agreed on last weekend, and DH is going to stop by their house on his way from Drill Weekend on Sunday and see if he can talk some sense into her.
DSD is currently failing 3 classes (math, social studies, and health, how one fails health, I have no idea). DH talked to her this morning, and said if she doesn't get her grades up, she is going to have to end up repeating 7th grade. She told him that she didn't care, and if she was held back, she would drop out of school. This weekend she and I were going over her grades, and she said she was going to work really hard to get them up, and really seemed like she genuinly wanted to improve them. Her whole attitude was great all last weekend at our house, and now, she has become a totally different child.
I wish her mom would just support the decision that was made, and realize that it is the best for her. I am just soooo frustrated. DH is deploying for 60 days this summer, and is really worried that she is going to try and pull something while he is gone.
