We planned a WDW stay at the FW Cabins with a pretty good rate, using one of the many codes. We had to go the last week of May/first of June to take full advantage of the rate. I was a little concerned because this happens to be Memorial Day weekend but tho't we could try it out.

Last nite, my father in law offered us a one week stay in Oct. in a two bedroom villa at OKW for $100 in addition to using his time share points. Their points are thru Marriott. The agent said this rare availabilty has only come up about 3 times and he'd been there 5 years! I cannot believe how generous this is. Needless to say, we will be pulling the kids out of school and will be able to avoid the crowds!

We are very excited. I tried to do a OKW search but am not having much luck. Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you.:)

You are indeed fortunate - mostly because of your very generous FIL! FWIW, it IS very rare to get into a DVC resort by trading another timeshare. Your FIL must have had a request in for some time and have a very "good trader" as his timeshare.

OKW is a wonderful resort and you will be absolutely blown away by the spacious accomodations. And October is a great time to visit, too.

I agree with josierac's advice - check out the DVC board and feel free to ask questions over there. You'll find lots of info and many OKW owners who will be happy to share it with you.

I just happened to see your post and I just happen to be a DVC member at OKW.
Here's a link to the DIS information page about OKW. There aren't any pictures right now, but there is pretty complete information about what you will find.
The 2 bedroom units are like being in a house while you are on vacation, spacious and very relaxing. There is a great room (full kitchen, large dining table and 2 comfortable couches - one is a hide a bed), a master bedroom with a king size bed, a large master bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a separate bathroom with a shower, a laundry room, and a 2nd bedroom with 2 queen beds and a bathroom with tub/shower. There is also a large, private balcony/porch with a patio table and 4 chairs.
You won't want to leave!

Some people get all the breaks. :D I'm really happy for you. I have had freinds who sayed at OKW and they were completely happy with it. I think that they even come with a whirlpool tub. Don't forget the bubble bath. I sent you a pm also, so you may want to check it.

Thanks everyone. I will check those boards.

adisneynut - I checked pm and haven't rec'd it yet. Maybe i'm not doing it correctly.......

You will love OKW--I'm afraid to stay there again because I'm afraid we won't want to go to the parks. I could hang out by the pool and listen to the music all day. The atmosphere is so relaxing and laid back--truly a wonderful place to vacation.

Congratulations on getting a great resort at a wonderful deal. You will love it!! Your post is only the 2nd that I have ever heard of someone being able to trading into DVC from another timeshare. Have a wonderful trip!! :)

We stayed there in December. It was beautiful!! The 2 bedroom is huge and gorgeous. We thought we wanted a room near the Hospitality House but we ended up at the far end of the property. It turned out to be wonderful. We were near the quiet pool and bus stop. We were on the first floor #5212. We had a view of a little body of water and the trees gave us privacy from the golfers. Each morning we were visited by a family of ducks who shared breakfast with us. The only complaint was the bus service. It didn't seem like OKW had as many buses as the other resorts. We waited more than 20 minutes on more than one occasion, while 2 or 3 buses for AS resorts came and went. CSR had more than one bus before ours showed up. I would rent a car or take a cab if you can. Especially at the end of the day when your pooped.
