I don't have much time to post right now, trying to *function* in the normal routine of life after a FABULOUS trip. This was our 1st Disney trip as a family. My Dh and 2 kids(DS 6 DD 2) had never been to Disney before, so we were all so excited. We arived in Orlando at 11pm on the 9th. We spent the night at the Amerisuites by MCO. In the AM, DH picked up our car from L & M. No real problem....I am happy b/c we only paid $123 for the week...BUT I had a coupon for an upgrade to a full size, they told DH that they were upgrading him, but gave him the car they told me was an intermed. The latch on the gas thing was broken, so it was hanging open all week...and on the 2nd day we realized that the rear window would not work. BUT...for the price.....
Anyway, we stayed at the Liki Tiki(we are members of II) in room 1032E. It was a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unt in their highrise. We loved it. They had our unit ready for us at 10 AM(verses the usual 4pm) and when told that they will call us for a breakfast/"let-us-know-what-you-think-of-us" (timeshare deal) I told her we were not interested. I also ask that they not bother our friends will the time share pressure(they were using a getaway week of ours at the same time we were there) and she said no problem.
All I can say about Disney is WOW. We were in MK on Mother's Day and it was GREAT!!!! We NEVER waited in a line. I am not kidding. We couild get off and on Space MTN and Buzz without wait. So many little things happend to us in Disney that made things better. Like our first night...we were in DT DIS and decided to eat at the rainforest. Ask for a table and were told that it would be an hour and a half wait for a table of 8. A waiter tapped my DH on the shoulder and said "follow me" He seated us right down. After dinner, another waitress gave my 2 yearold a free slushy drink b/c she said she was a cutie.
At MGM we were kid-swapping while riding the ToT and I came out and found that a CM had brought a bucket of crayons and paper and were drawing with my kids.
I think what brought the magic to us all was having the front position for the celebration in front of the castle. Cinderella waved a my DD and that did it for us. I really could go on and on about little things.....
Very few things bothered me while we were there other than the extreme heat. It was HOT!!!!! One things that kind of annoyed me was the night we had dinner at GF's Cinderella's Gala Feast. Our PS was for 8pm and we were seated at 9. No big deal, the kids were well behaved...BUT when we got in there, you could tell that some of the characters we ready to go. Prince Charming came to the table and I was very disapointed with him. He grabbed the auto. books off of all 4 kids(my 2 and friends 2) put them in a pile and hurried and signed them with only a "hello" in general... stood for the picture and walked away with in a big hurry. Cinderella wa sweet. My 2 yrold LOVES her. We walk in a DD says " Mommy, we are at her wedding" When Cind. came to our table and spoke with my DD, Jenna said to her "You got married now?" and she answered "yes" Then my DD said "you dance with me please?" and Cinderella picked her up and they danced. It was so darn cute.
Really, this was a wonderful trip.No kid melt-downs(even in the heat) I found that this trip has brought our family closer. We flew home yesterday morning and still today, everyone is hugging more and being just a little nicer...I am thinking some of the magic followed us home......
One more thing, the STROLLER was wonderful!!!!!Had an easy swap with no problems. I only feel bad that I forgot to put the lime green Kellogg Lanyard in it. So if someone in the swap wants it, I will send it if you will add it.
I'll share more later!!!
Blessings,
Melissa
