Just thought I'd let you know, this resort is the BEST! We've been here in a 2 bedroom at the Beach Club Villas since it opened on July 1 and we absolutely LOVE this place. I guess I'm now ready to do an add-on.

Can you tell me what location/room no.s you would request if you wanted to have the fastest/easiest way out of the bldg and on your way to EPCOT? View does matter on this one, just convenience--read into this--going to the Pin Event and need to get there quickly. :)

It is soooo good to hear that you still love it there. Can't wait to be there.

WOW...I can't believe you are still there!!!!!! :):):)

Thanks for all your wonderful information you shared with alll of us! I know we will have a wonderful time at BCV during the Christmas holidays!

How wonderful to be there so long! I'm happy to hear you still love it. I'm anxiously awaiting our first trip to BCV in November.
:) :D

WOW! 10 Days! I'm so glad you love the BCV! Can't wait to stay there myself.

Now Stinson, are they going to have to drag you out of there?;)

Thanks for being such a great sport and taking the time out of your vacation to share your experience with us. It's very much appreciated.:D

We'll be going in October for 5 days and January for 9 days staying at a 1 BR and a 2BR respectively. I am very glad to hear you love it so much!!!! DH actually said the other day that he is thinking of buying more points at BCV, instead of buying a resale elsewhere, just to be able to have that 11 month window for booking. That's how much we think we're going to like it!

I'm so glad to hear that you love it.

Tomorrow I get to make my ressies for our first trip home!!:Pinkbounc

Yes, we really love it here. We'll be here until Friday. I wish we could stay here yet another week. I think I like the Beach Club Villas better than Boardwalk or Old Key West, both of which we own. It is really nice here. Now, after a week and a half of taking the secret path behind the Beach Club over to Epcot, I can make the trip into France for coffee and a pastry in less than 5 minutes. It is much closer to the International Gate, relatively speaking, than Boardwalk.

I think the best rooms are on the 5th floor because the building only rises to the 5th floor at the center of the building. This location gives the best views of Epcot fireworks in the rear of the building or the quiet pool and Magic Kingdom fireworks in the front. It is also central to the elevators which are located at the center and ends of the building.

Are there views on the 5th floor facing Epcot that you could not see the fireworks from?

What I am saying is if I simply stated a request of Top Floor, Epcot View, (which is what I asked for) will I be able to see the fireworks or should I call back and specifically ask for an Illuminations view?

Terry,

I will try to find an answer to your question this evening. I have not been in any of the rooms in the rear, but I suspect that several of the rooms do not have Epcot fireworks views. By the way, the sounds from Epcot, particularly the British (Beatles) Band are very loud and can probably be heard from most of the rooms in the rear. Some people I spoke with said they liked hearing the band, but you will probably hear all Epcot special events from your room in the rear of the BCV.

Are the balconies the same size as BWV or larger like OKW. I am dying to stay at BC but my family (six of us) is worried we won't have enough room to spread out on the balconey.

Details, please! :)

I love the idea of being so close to France to walk there and get a coffee and pastry in the morning. Please tell me how early in the a.m. are you able to get in? Thanks; your information is so helpful.

Yes, details. Did you find this path yourself, or is it one of the trails shown on the maps? You must not leave us hanging.

Wow - 10 days since opening......we have been home 9 of those days, (also spent 1st of of opening at BCV!!!:p ) and we have had that funky, back to reality, it's over feeling to go through. So glad you have been so happy there - really! It is beautiful, comfortable and SO convenient. Hey guys, we went out the hall to the store, turned left and ended up in a BC hotel hallway, went out the door at the end and were at the BC quiet pool, leading to the walkway to Epcot. We were swiping our AP's in about 2 more minutes!! It is very close. I am so glad we bought an add on here!! Has the rain stopped stinson?? We had the 10 days of monsoons, and I hoped that was done for all of you. Enjoy the last few days, but isn't it grand knowing that we will all be back and hear that Welcome Home once again!

Stinson, I am new to DISboards and DVC @ BVC. Thx for the updates. Glad to know you are enjoying your vacation. Can't wait til we are there again next June.

Terry - You should probably request a room with an Illuminations view to be sure. I spoke with a man in one of the rooms on the extension corridor at the rear of the building who said he could not see Illuminations from his room. As far as I can see, rooms on each floor ending in odd numbers from 39 to 52 probably do not have an Illuminations view. There will certainly be other rooms that are blocked by the rear extension. But it appear that the majority of rooms on the rear of the building that are not in the extension corridors do have an Illuminations view.

Halle - The balconies vary in size depending on the location in the building. It appears that some studio rooms have very large balconies because they are located adjacent to a large circular turret. Our 2 bedroom unit has two balconies large enough for the six of us to sit outside, but they are narrow, like Boardwalk's balconies. My wife has finished a couple of novels on the balcony, so it can't be too bad.

The "secret" path is the one depicted on the plans for the Villas, described above by Niagara2. Because of the location of the entrance to the path, adjacent to the bridge to Boardwalk, it is faster to walk from Boardwalk to the Villas than to ride the ferry across to the Beach Club.

World Showcase does not open until 11:00 a.m., however Future World opens at 9:00 a.m., so the International Gate opens just before 9:00 a.m. Consequently, while you cannot go to France until 11:00 a.m., you can go to the Fountain Cafe at 9:00 a.m., which has great coffee, croissants, muffins, etc. In the afternoon, my will weakens and go for the coffee and pastery in France.

It is still raining, but less. Last night and tonight, we saw stars for the first time in a week. After we leave here, we will go to Key West (snorkling in Bahia Honda) for a week. It appears that the rain is now moving to the Keys. And so it goes.
