we'll never do biergarten again

Ate there last August and posted a review.

I had the same experience except the other family at our table was shy but nice. Desserts were great, but everything else was subpar, at best.

Last trip was our first trip to Biergarten in years, DM not a fan of sausages, and we had mixed reviews. We were a party of 8 so filled a whole table. I only thought it was mediocre and worst meal of our trip. I agree with others the schnitzel was DRY and salty.

We ate there a few years ago, my husband loved the food and it was good.. just not something that i would normally eat. I enjoyed the experience of the different foods though.

That being said, I HATED our tablemates. Keep in mind, I'm southern, I'm soft spoken and so is my daughter. I'm also very shy. So, it was my daughter, my husband (who for the sake of the story is not southern born and bred), and myself at the very end of the table.

The rest of the table is full of rather loud, obnoxious northerners (now, I don't want to get into a southern/northern debate.. I have lots of northern friends.. but some people, regardless of where they are from are obnoxious). The people acted like we had intruded on their meal, they are very, very loud, rambunctious and carrying on to the point that my husband, daughter and myself could not have a conversation. The entire experience turned me off to any family style seating restaurants.

I thinks its unfair to post pictures of the pretzel bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that stuff!

but our family, even my picky DW and DSis love the Biergarten and ask to go again from trip to trip.

I have been to Germany and had a German grandmother so maybe I am more in tune to what the food is supposed to be like but yet there are things on the beffet that I do not care for. it's a BUFFET! eat what you like and leave the rest. Sample a small bit of everything and that was if you don't like it you aren't wasting food. The bratwurst are as close to authentic German as I have had in the states.

If something on the buffet is dry, wait a few minutes and they will replenish it.

We love the salad selection and as a PP entioned...the pretzel rolls are GREAT!

I really really really don't like this restaurant. This is partially because I dislike German food, but more than that, I've found it difficult to find anything at all that I enjoy from this buffet.

DH enjoys it so we still end up going sometimes.

I am not a fan of that type of food, but DH loves nad that is the only restaurant he requested, so I made a reservation there. The food was good and I did find things I could eat, not a fan of sausage and some of those other meats.

The people we shared a table with were very pleasant and that helps, because DH loves to talk, the father had been a truck driver in Canada and we could have sat there all night and let them talk. I was a nice experience.

We always try to meak our reservations early so that we get there shortly after the restaurant opens so the food is fresher, but most everything was replenished frequently.

I am half German, and I also used to love Biergarten, but there were so many "usual" items missing on the buffet that last time I was there (before Christmas week), and the food really wasn't all that great. So disappointing.

The only truly good thing was the roast pork.

Had processional lunch at 1:30 at biergarten, one of our favorite restaurants, and the food just wasn't good. Lots of cold dishes, not much variety, schnitzel impossible to cut due to being dried out. There was less variety for more money. Our table mates were hateful! We usually enjoy discussion with people at our table or if they don't want the interaction that is ok too. These folks were mean. I can't believe we paid that much for that experience. It was just awful

I have to agree with you. When we were there two years ago in September, we had terrific tablemates, but the food was not good at all. First, I want Veal Schnitzel, not chicken; and it was so dry that even gravy could not help it.

The food was ok, I was expecting a little better though.
Our tablemates were very friendly, that was probably the best part of the meal.

I agree with the above. I didnt think the food was all that great to be honest. I love german food, but i didnt like the variety & texture of the meat here. The items that i did enjoy were pretty darn tasty....the mac n' cheese & soup were incredible. Lol. But I found the pretzle bread way too salty.

The desserts were good but what a poor selection!

I had really good table mates thou, they really made it fun. They were very friendly. Also, the band was entertaining. But i honestly wouldnt go back. Once in a lifetime is fine by me.
