only 6 more days until surgery.
I had all 3 pre op appointments this week, the nurse education visit today as well as type and cross labs and signing pre-admission forms.
We've known about the possibility of surgery for about 4 months when my internist referred me to a neurologist and than he referred us to a neurosurgeon.
We found out that we were going ahead with the surgery exactly 3 weeks ago.
It's funny though....up until today I knew that the surgery was going to happen but it seemed so far away and it just didn't seem "real" if you know what I mean. Having to do pre-admission and having to fill out an advance directive all of a sudden made it seem so real and I'm not sure how I feel about all of this now other than the fact that I am scared completely out of my mind.
In addition to all of this...my 21st birthday is 5 days after surgery...definitely not my ideal way to spend my birthday...but as one of my teachers said....at least I will be able to remember my 21st...most people cannot say that they remember their 21st birthday....lol
I just can't wait for all of this to be over and to get back to normal again

Are you managing to sleep now? (I am guessing no as you are posting this in essentially the middle of the night your time).
