Ok, so I've been in the LA area this week on business. Some of you might recall I was here in Cypress back in February and I made the decision to take a solo trip to DL but didn't want to feel guilty about going without the family.

Well, I guess that decision has stayed with me. And, it's no coincidence that I booked my hotel in Cypress this time even though I was visiting an office in a different city. So, I just got back to my hotel a little while ago after taking my 2nd solo trip to DL in 4 months. I finished up work early and had most of the day to goof off. What better way to do it than to go to DL, right?

It was a pretty nice day at the park, although a tad on the busy side. The weather was perfect. Unfortunately, the fireworks show was stopped 3/4 of the way through it, though. Instead of being set up near the hub, I actually parked my can over near NOS right on the water with a view of the Mark Twain and BTTMR. Not a bad place at all to see the aerial shots. And yes, I had my camera and tripod with me. I'll be posting some pics soon but it might be a few days until after I get back home to Texas.

So anyway, I just wanted to pass along that I was in the happy place today. It was a blast! :thumbsup2

I love solo trips! I just took one a couple of weeks ago, and earlier in March (my company is based in Irvine). I'm bringing the family along in July (4 weeks from now!!) - and those times are absolutely wonderful - but there's just something about being there by yourself and you don't have to have a consensus of what you want to do or eat, or when to take bathroom breaks, etc, etc.

I can't wait to see your pictures. I did my first trip report and photos for my May trip (stopher1's SOLO DL Trip_May 18 & 19) - it's pretty long and detailed, but I had a blast. Being over 2100 miles away does make it difficult - but those work trips sure help!! It's sure nothing like when we lived 10 minutes away... but we take what we can get nowadays...

How fun! I can't wait to see your pictures!

I just don't think that I could have fun on a solo trip, I don't even like going to the grocery store by myself!!:rotfl2:

I would LOVE to go with just DH & myself though!

Wow--wish I had known. We were there yesterday for the TSMM AP preview and would have loved to meet you! Your photos are fantastic! Can't wait to see the new ones.

W00T! Great for you, and EXCELLENT for the DIS'ers to be able to see your new pics!! :yay:

I didn't realize you were so far away from Disneyland! I'm glad you get the chance to go, here and there. Good stuff!
