getting an outpatient surgery about 12:30 our time, listening to the playlist my DD set up for me on her old IPod, waiting for my DH to drive me there and back.

Wish me luck and please keep me & the surgical team in your thoughts & prayers. Oh, I've never been 'put under' so please keep the anthesiologist especially in your thoughts.

Might not be on here for a while, don't know how the anesthesia will affect me and what the recovery will be like.

Many many many thanks to those who have posted their good wishes. Everything went well, the nodules were not cancerous (the size of the biggest one was a concern to me - apparently it turned out to be somewhat larger than a quarter.)
The surgeon removed the shunt this morning and said I was doing great. I don't remember much of anything about yesterday from after I went into the OR after 1:30 until about 8pm or so - just random bits & pieces.

It was a good day and even though the suture and the area around it are sore, I feel better than I have in quite a while - it's a relief to finally get this all taken care of.
