Well... I started packing today... trips over 2 weeks away, but I started PACKING!

We check in October 3rd and kids have been packed for 2 months as well as the bathroom bag (shampoo, toothpaste, etc.), and the goodie bag for the drive. I came across a totes box full of summer clothes that fit the kids tags still on 'em and they don't need more in their drawers so I just packed them into their suitcases. Will pack me and dh the weekend before we leave as still wearing shorts around here... My husband just looks at the Disney pile and shakes his head

Moopdog - sounds just like me. Except I have been packing small things for a few days now. We are leaving on September 17th - can't wait. Where are you staying ?

Yesterday and today I've been saying in 2 weeks we'll be at **** and getting ready for Illuminations, and tonight we'll be at Cali Grill for dinner celebrating DH's birthday. This thread gives me permission to pack my new *red* Mickey suitcases (purchased from disneydirect this summer). I really can't wait, and NEED this short break for DH's Extravagant Birthday Trip II!

We are staying 3 nights at Pop and then 5 nights at OKW. I can't wait! We are looking forward to sharing the magic with our kids (2 and 4) who have never been there!!

We've been packed for almost two weeks already!! :) The only things left to go in the bags are bathroom stuff, and medications!!

We are down to 12 days! POP September 16-25

Make sure you guys keep a list of everything that you need to pack. Then, check off each item as it goes into the bag. Once I forgot to pack any underwear for one of my DS's! He had to borrow his younger brother's, and kept saying, "Mom, these don't feel quite right!" We were at EuroDisney, and you couldn't conveniently pick up new stuff at a local store, so he had to suffer for my airheadedness! Since then, I keep the list going so that I can double-check that everything is in there. It helps those of us who start packing so early! Have a great time everyone! :flower:

Of course, I only packed our carry-on bags and most of what our family calls the "bathroom bag" (shampoo, makeup, hairbrush, you get the gist).

I am getting so excited now, can hardly wait until next weekend, phase 2 of my packing. There are only 3 phases, since I only have time on the weekends.

Woohoo... only 19 more days!

Thats great! I pulled out my suit case last week, to start packing (clothes, this week is bathroom stuff.) We leave next Sunday! Everyone makes fun of me because I pack so early! But I am just so excited! Only 7 days for us!!

We leave in 12 days and I just today bought a box of gallon size ziplock bags. I will be packing the night before we leave. If I pack too early, I forgot what I packed and keep second/third/etc guessing myself and have to keep checking over and over. I am OCD about it.. :teeth: :teeth:

:ssst: phew.. glad to see I am not the only one who has started packing this far in advance...i thought i was a lil nuts. 26 days to go, and suitcases are out and starting to pile up...
 :Pinkbounc cant wait to goooooo :moped:

We leave on Wednesday and I haven't even started packing yet!! I got all of my errands done yesterday, though. We are last minute packers!! :cool1:

Well, heck, we don't leave til Feb, but as soon as it is time to pack away the kids' summer clothes, I will be packed for WDW!! Easier to put them in a suitcase than pack them away in a box and have to get them back out later.

I'VE BEEN WANTING TO PACK SINCE THE DAY WE MADE RESERVTIONS!
WE'RE LEAVING IN 3 WEEKS AND I WILL START PACKING RIGHT NOW!

 :rotfl: :cool1: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I started packing today 16 days to go!!!

I have to do anything I can to make the time go by faster!!!!! I can't wait! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: :flower1:

::MinnieMo We leave this Friday and I am holding off on packing until Wednesday, it's driving me crazy but I have a bet with my DH that I can't do it, lol. Went shopping today to finish up last minute things to take, I can't wait. :cloud9: :earboy2:

I have been packing too. Most bathroom items packed. Some clothes...bought DD and myself some DISNEY CLOTHES LOL :rotfl:
(Us girls use any excuse to buy clothes) all the Disney items for the kids surprize bags. Pool towels and bathing suits.

Ok you PA girls (moopdog and deadhedjen) you are too far away from me.
I hate that Pa Extension to get to you all up there!
Just made a trip up there a couple months ago and ran out of gas :earseek: ...yes 2 miles from the service station going to a bridal shower. Not going to the wedding now. Too long of a story to post but I think I will stay down here near the Pa./De line... though I love the views. :sunny:
Amazing you can live in a state and not know all the towns in it?
When I use to do promo. work at the race tracks (Dover and Pocono's).
I use to meet people from all over Pa.!

So you probably refer to where we live as "the mountains" right? I use to date someone from Quakertown who always referred to trips up here as "going up to the mountains for the weekend" etc. I used to crack up... to me - they're more like hills! PA extension AKA the turnpike, right? My mother lived in Allentown for years, so I made this trip many, many times... it's worse now with construction than ever before from what I've been told. Have fun at WDW!!

BTW - why do you bring towels? Isn't it easier and more convenient to use the towels there? ~Danielle

I want to start packing (leaving on October 8), but I don't know where to start.

I have to pack one suitcase for our stay in Port Canaveral the night before the cruise (Don't want to drag everything in for one night). Then I want to pack each of us a carry-on bag for when we board the ship. These will have a change of clothing, plus toiletries in case we want to swim before our luggage arrives in our rooms. Finally, we'll have a suitcase for items that we want to take on our stay at WDW, but might not necessarily want to take on the ship. I've never packed in so many stages before.

Speaking of packing....does anyone else feel like a packing failure? What I mean by that, is I hear of all these people who manage to pack EVERYTHING into nice neat little suitcases that the bell hop can just whisk upstairs. While hearing this, I'm thinking,I can't use a bell hop, b/c after our suitcases have been taken in, we still have the plastic tub of Bionicles, the 1/2 opened pack of pull-ups, the Gameboys and their 15 different games, our pillows and blankets, the two pairs of shoes that wouldn't fit in the suitcase, etc, etc.

We usually have to make an additional two trips to the car just for the "loose" stuff. Do you guys pack literally EVERYTHING into a bag, or do
you have the extra "stuff" as well? I guess if you're flying, you don't have much of a choice, but since we drive, we tend to end up with lots of odds and ends to take in.

I've been doing the same thing!!! Two weeks from today, we'll be doing breakfast on the Boardwalk, spending the day at MGM and dinner at Rose and Crown...

I sorta started my packing when we got back in May...I left all the "we'll need this next time" things in the pockets of the suitcases (neckbands to stay cool, tapes for the camera, and other things I have forgotten but will be glad to see.

Yesterday, we picked up Spacebags at Linens and Things (you know - those plastic bags that can fit 197 pillows in the space of a thimble once you suck the air out with the vaccumn) and I practically skipped out of the store...I am so excited to see how much stuff I can shove into our carryons now!!! Told my dad about it last night and he kindly pointed out that we'd need a vaccumn to re-pack it. Was I smug to inform him that we'd be in a 1br where we HAVE a vaccumn...although if that one doesn't work DH says the MKeeping ones do have the tubey things I need (I can remember the basic word for it and I am too lazy to go figure it out before I post this... :rotfl: ) and we can throw ourselves on their mercy if need be...but if THAT doesn't work, I have already packed the ones we used last year that just roll out the air.

Packing for WDW....it's an art!!!

Going up the mountains...YUP or the boonies to me anymore were they dont have enought gas stations on that pa turnpike! I was in Wikes barr, nice willing to always help people as usal for Pa.
What are the ages of your children?
See ya in Disney!
