We finally buckled down and made our ADR's for our trip Feb 27-March 5. How do they look? my big concern is lunch at Planet Hollywood- we'll be arriving at MCO at 11:40 and will be traveling to POR via Magical Express....what are the chances we will make a 2:45 ADR in DTD?

I also feel kinda "stuck" on the 28th- Are there no other TS places in AK?

Looks mostly good!!!

Funny thing is, we'll be at POR same time you are, almost (feb 26-mar 6), and we'll be at H&V together, also!

On Mar 3, we'll be at H&V at 9:10

I'm assuming we'll be at Fantasmc with you also, that night (and a few thousand of our closest friends).

Yes, AK only has the 2 TS restaurants. What we're doing is, as AK closes early, we're having dinnerat Boatwrights at POR after getting back from the park. Between you 3 ADRs at AK, and the early closing time, you aren't going to have much time there. This is the one change I'd make.

And, We didn't think Y&Y was that good. So, I'd do the Donald's breakfast, and also Tusker House for lunch (completely different food), and then Boatwrights for dinner. And, if you do it this way, you'll get priority seating for Nemo (it comes with Tusker lunch, just have to make sure your ADR is for the right time period, it says what that is online)

And you should make your ADR at Planet Hollywood, assuming your fligh is ontime. It takes, on average 75 min from gate to resort, so you should be at POR by 1:00. 15-30 min to check in, and then catch the boat to DTD, you should at DTD by 2:00. That's plenty of time. You can either walk to Planet Hollywood from where the POR boat drops you off, or take the DTD water taxi to Pleasure Island.

I was told to allow 1 1/2 hours from plane arrival to get to your resort via Magical Express.... like other poster, assuming your plane is on time.

I'd say to skip Tusker House dinner or the late lunch. Unlike the prior poster, we LOVE Yak and Yeti -- been twice. We order appetizers, entrees and dessert there so we would not be hungry for several hours. Why the 6:20 ADR so soon after your late lunch?

The Tusker House breakfast is pretty good, be sure to try the sweet potatoes! Last week, at Yak and Yeti, DW had the ribs (best ever!) and I had the Malaysian Seafood Curry (I was in heaven, seriously!). But I've heard if you order more plain stuff (like sweet and sour chicken), you will be disappointed. I like the Tusker House dinner too but Yak and Yeti is much better in my opinion, unless you want a lot of choices since Tusker is a buffet.

Le Cellier was pretty good, but not deserving of the hype it gets. Still pretty good. I liked Coral Reef much better for the steak. San Angel Inn was very nice too. Their menu is completely different (better) than what is online.

Be sure to arrive early for Ohana, their checkin process can take a while. We really loved Biergarten, fun place and pretty darn good food.... and where else can I get a liter of beer in a giant frosty glass mug?

Never thought much of Hollywood and Vine's lunch and dinner, but their breakfast was pretty good. DS5 loves the characters there and danced with Oso and Handy Manny.

If using the dining plan in AK, your choices are only Tusker House and Yak and Yeti, both of which I think are very good! There's also a Rainforest Cafe but not on dining plan.

Tusker House Restaurant Monday February 28, 2011 6:20 pm This is very close to a large lunch, you will probably not be hungry yet. I'd take the bus to Epcot and eat dinner there assuming you have park hoppers. If not maybe the Wave or Grand Floridian Cafe?

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about getting to the Planet Hollywood ADR. You should have time, and if not you can always call and change that ADR to a bit later. That doesn't tend to be a booked-to-capacity restaurant, especially at off-peak meal times.

I agree with a previous poster about the 28th - regardless of what you decide for lunch, a later dinner at Boatwrights at POR would probably work better than trying to fit a third meal into a relatively short park day at Animal Kingdom. Dinner at 6 following lunch at 3 just isn't going to work out; most TS meals take an hour or so, which leaves only 2 hours between leaving one meal and checking in for the next. I'd look for something around 8ish at POR, to give yourselves plenty of time for the bus ride back for the resort.

There are only the two DDP sit down restaurants in AK. Of the two we preferred Tusker House but Yak & Yeti wasn't bad, just loud and a bit up-and-down on the food (excellent appetizers & desserts, so-so entrees). If you're not on the plan there is also Rainforest Cafe, but that's one we wouldn't do at Disney because the one at the local mall is the same basic experience and menu.

And Chloe has a good point about your plan for the 2nd. Liberty Tree is a very heavy/filling meal, and I don't think 4 hours between ADRs is long enough for you to be hungry again. Especially not for another heavy, filling (all you can eat) meal like Biergarten.

Great Ideas! I knew there'd be some suggestions! I am going to switch to Boatwrights on the 28th instead of the Tusker House for dinner, and i'm going to look to tweek the times a little..

Got Boatwrights at 7:30 for the 28th, cancelled dinner at Tusker House. I also moved up the lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern- we aren't huge breakfast people, so we most likely be hungry earlier as we will be "picking" through our breakfast.

Our last trip to Disney, we stayed off site and just 'munched' at the QS areas- we are very excited to enjoy a meal (or three! :))

This trip is going to be a well deserved break- I decided to go back to school this year-so i have classes M,T,W,Th and work F,Sat,Sun. This is my spring break Feb 28-March 5 and it worked out for free dining- we decided to splurge and do Deluxe dining and we are sooo excited!

Looks like you'll have a great time! (maybe we'll see you there ;)

I would skip dinner at TH and I don't think you'll make it to Planet Hollywood on time. I assume you have DxDP because you have all TS. Good eating.:goodvibes
