i got a call from my Dr. and he told me my test results i don't have diabetes!!! So i am gonna start up my ww diet again or atkins i havent decided yetto you that did both or to you that are on it which one do you think is the better one?? thanks in advance!

That's great news Samie!!! I've been on neither WW or Atkins, but I know there'll be many people here who can give you some great opinions on both. I'm really happy for you, sweetie. Best wishes to you as you move on to a healthier lifestyle! We're here for you, so keep us posted!

Congratulations on your test results! I can't comment on Atkins b/c I've never done that but I have had success with WW. I'm currently doing WW and I love it b/c I don't feel deprived of foods I like and I don't really feel like I'm on a "diet" b/c I can plan meals based on what I want to have as long as I stay within points. Good luck with whichever plan you choose!

I have never done ww and just recently started Atkins. So far I have lost 10 lbs in under 2 wks. But as far as the diabetes thing...even though dr says you don't have it (which is great!), I would recommend that you read Dr Atkins book. He talks extensively about diabetes and how Atkins may ward it off if you may be headed in that direction. I would definitely do some research on both programs before deciding which one you want to try. Best of luck to you whichever program you decide works for you!

Personally, Atkins works best for me (I've tried both). With Atkins, I can eat as much as I want, just cutting out the processed flours and sugars. I don't have to worry about counting points and portioning my food. When I was on WW, I was constantly hungry!

And, while on WW, I had "highs" and "lows" during the days from eating carbs. It affected my blood sugar too much. I find with Atkins, my blood sugar stays at a nice even amount all day long, so I have constant energy! ::yes:: And, I'm never hungry! That's the best part!

I've lost just under 40 pounds since August! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

But, both plans are very good - different plans work best for different people. With your possible blood sugar problems, I would highly recommend Atkins. But, only you can decide what's best for you! Good luck! And congrats on your test results! :wave2:

I would ask your doctor where he/she thinks you should start. They already have your blood work, and can help determine the next step for you. If your blood sugars are doing whacky things, you don't want to make any lifestyle change without consulting medical experts.

I agree that different plans work for different people, and you may need to give one a try, and modify or change to another depending on how your body reacts to it. I think you're doctor will be more than happy to help you with this decision .. I know that mine was thrilled when I told him I was losing weight, and how I was going about it. Maybe do some reading/research on both plans first, so that any questions you have can be raised when you meet with the doctor.

I'm a WW fan because I find that I have so many more choices, especially when not eating at home. That, and the fact that I am a carboholic and that's just never gonna change for me

Good luck with whatever you decide, sweetie ... and let us know how you're making out.
