Well folks.. this is it..

for anyone who enjoys going to McDonald's and getting their Disney themed toys.. Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will be their last Disney themed franchise.. a while ago, Disney decided to stop sponsoring McDonald's after pirates for the following reasons.. little kids go to McDonald's to get the toys more often than the meal, and Disney feels that by putting their toys in meals, they are encouraging these children to go to McDonald's just for the toys, and if this is done more and more over time, it will look like Disney is promoting obesity by encouraging little kids to buy more meals (at least thats what they say..)
So after pirates, i asume there will be no more Disney meal toys anywhere (since mcDonald's is not much better than Burger King or any of the others with their fatty meals..) Anyone have thoughts on this? what do you think will happen to the McDonalds' in the theme parks? is this a bad move for Disney's marketing of their movies?

Hmm - I guess if there will be a Captain Jack Sparrow toy - guess who will be getting a happy meal?

No to comment - I will be disappointed I like the toys. But things change and knowing Disney something is up their sleeve. Cannot wait to see what.

I heard that McDonald's was P.O'd with getting dumped with failures like Brother Bear while BK got Shrek.

i went to McDonald's yesterday and their pirates toys start today and they have the following.. A little cute cartoon plush of Jack Sparrow, a cute little cartoon plush of a skeleton captain, an inflatable pirate sword, a dead man's chest that has stickers inside, a skull telescope, another skull thing with a bandanna, and theres another but i forgot what it was..

rofl you should have seen when Neopets put toys in Mcdonalds I was on neopets and saw that someone just bought 50 toys no meal and my neopet obsessed brothers just wanted the toys and lots of people were buying the meals for the toys suprised they came out twice 0_o.

lol i'll admit that i'm gonna try to get them all.. first because since this is the last Disney-McDonald's franchise, why not take advantage of it? and second.. PIRATES ROCK !!!

They would like to believe that. The reality is, is that Ronald is fed up with sponsoring flops and being only limited to them. This termination of contract can now allow McDonald's to sponsor a whole new multitude of characters and movies, and not just one label. Like now you can eat your fries with Shrek instead of uh.. treasure planet friends!

This is why in my attempt of almost leaving vmk not getting the sparrow suit I traded inferno for it. I also got some retired quest and kali and 10 peices of basic quest retiring this year.

what does that have to do with McDonald's? LOL i think that the restaurants in the parks will remain, but it won't be as obvious that they are just themed McDonalds'.. and since there are so many of them ( i believe they just added a McDonald's fries stand in the Magic Kingdom a little while ago) i doubt that they will just turn them into something else.. lets face it Disney can't have all sit-down restaurants, and Disney makes money off of in-park McDonalds' because people don't want to walk around all day with a turkey leg (well.. most people don't) they want to walk around with some fries that they know they like and thats just what makes money..
