These hotels look super nice! Especially the courtyard! Wish I looked at it because it’s about $500 less for our stay than Disneyland hotel but I was in a rush to just book something... if we end up liking DL enough to want to go back often, definitely staying at one of the good neighbour hotels!

Staying at the DL hotel for your first trip is a wonderful way to do it. You are totally in the bubble for the entire trip. It really is quite magical.

This is the first time I hear about the "at home" test! Is that for flying back to Canada? I am travelling with Air Canada but can't find any info on that at their site or in google.

Look at the Testing Locations tab and then select United States - I priced it out and it isn't cheap, and you also need to make sure that you have easy access to a FedEx or UPS shipping location. Not clear whether the test needs to be supervised by video call or not: https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/book/travel-news-and-updates/2020/covid-19.html In most cases, it is best to ship to your place of stay in the US but if not feasible, some of those would ship to Canada pre-trip

Thanks for the info! that is an interesting alternative. We ended up just booking one of the tests in Anaheim Downtown since it was easier.

Being a West Coaster (Victoria) most of my life, Disneyland is more my park. I went to WDW several times when living in Ottawa - but Disneyland is and always has been my favorite. I can't speak to how things will be during these Covid times, but I usually find DL so much better and more laid back where you don't have to try to pre-plan everything to the eyeballs. Covid changes everything though. Disneyland's Space Mountain is far better than WDW's, and also their Pirates ride is miles better. Oh, and the train ride is better. Have fun!
