Hi all

If this has been posted before, many apologies, I'm new on here and looking for some info, ready to book this weekend.

We are looking at a really good deal for a 2 week break next June, using Virgin & Welcome USA villas. They seem to have a standard villa and an executive villa. I can't look on their web-site as it is for travel agants only, so it is difficult to see what the Villa quality is look. Our TA says the spec is excellent, and he has sent to across the world and always been spot on.

Has nayome used the Welcome USA people, if so, what is the Villa quality like, where do they tend to be located and would you recommend them.

Many thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, and welcome to the DIS. :goodvibes

Is this a package with Virgin Hoiidays, or are you looking to book the flights and accommodation separately?

We've stayed in many villa locations near WDW over the years, but only once as part of a package. We prefer to book specific homes so that we know precisely what we'll be getting and where it'll be located.

The flights & car is with Virgin. The accomodation is recommended by our TA. We have used him for a good number of years and he has never let us down. Not sure if I am allowed to name the TA. I have every confidence in his judgement, but as the Villa rates were so so hot I was looking to check them out.

Hi Steve,

It's difficult to advise on the villas, have you got a website link?

Personally we book all our villas seperate from our flight package, I like to choose where we stay rather than take a chance.

Steve ...cut out the middlemen and book direct with an owner and have more spending money, Welcome USA are just a handling agent and will have managment companies to supply villas, this agreement leaves very little for an owner so you will get a nice villa but not as good as you may be hopeing for. Most often you can get better prices booking flight and car yourself and again cut out the middlemen...

Hi Steve,

go to http://www.welcomeusa.com/ and create an account.
It requires a user name, email address and company name.

You can make up a company name if you want.

I also book independently for two main reasons.

1. You know where the villa is located. Many management companies have villas on the US27 which can be a good 30min drive from the parks in peak times. If location isn't important for you then you can forget this.

2. The villa and pool layout can make a big difference to our stay and I like to know exactly what I'm getting. Seating arrangements, pool aspect and facilities all make a big difference in your stay.

You say you have a good deal for the villa, based on what?
Spend a few hours looking on the web and you will get a feel for the prices, locations and differences between villas.
June is not generally peak prices.

If you're still satisfied that you have a good price and you're happy to be allocated on arrival then go for it.

This website has several generic properties from this company, it suggests they have a portfolio spread over a large area, which is what you would expect.

Dont know when you last visited but there is a new road now that shortens the time quite a bit even in rush hour time from the US27/I-4 junct towards Orlando they have opend the 429 toll road(50c) or you can still use the rat run the locals use so you have no reason to get stuck in I-4 traffic anymore...

I never used the 429 in July but kept with the usual 545 - Old Wilson Road up to the 192 and then Sherbeth Road.

Do you think joining the I4 at Championsgate is best for the Universal Parks then, as this still took me 30 mins.

Jakey... i too often used OLW road but now use the 429. to be honest though if we go to a park(my villa is on US27 about 500yds from i-4) I will always go out early(7.30-0800) down OLW rd to Ponderosa or Shoneys and have a good buffet breckies before going into a park, if i am shopping then its lay in and breckies in villa then off to shops after 10.00am when they all open. So never realy hit any traffic..
