i survived my day. Lordy its going to be a long year!

Jarrod survived his first day of Kindergarten and wants to go back tomorrow so that is good news. I hope he continues to enjoy it!

I will post the pictures tomorrow when I have more time. Gotta run and get the kids ready for bed and get some lesson plans done! yuck! hehehe

Evening, all.

Meeting with principal went well. Ironically enough, when I went up to the school, the office staff told me he was in a meeting, did I mind waiting-he was in a meeting with his teacher. It was good-we all got to speak our piece and I emphasized that 1. This is his first year in mainstream 2. We special ed parents refuse to be apathetic to our student's needs 3.We are either your biggest ally or biggest problem. I ended up getting a nice "thank you" message in Neil's planner when he got home!

The boys are enrolled in the new daycare, which starts tomorrow. They're looking forward to using the HUGE playground!

Ed's official-got a nicer ID than what they gave out in Maryland. It wasn't handprinted, at least!

Got a phone call from a long lost friend. I joined classmates two months ago to reestablish contact with her (and Ed and my old boss, lol!) and we sent each other an email, mine with my cell number. Gosh, it was like time never passed-however, we're both divorced from the two timing men we were married to back then! I fully expect us to catch each other up musically, we're both country and jazz freaks, and used to bring new artists to each other to listen to!

Bethie, HOORAY on closing by yourself! You'll get into a routine fairly quick. I find that Sundays have the most paperwork.

Lainey, glad that Gwen's almost back to normal.

Nancy, I guess you didn't think painting would lead to a pruning project. You know, you posted those pictures and now a certain missing yaya wants me to get those Minnie beanies!

I finally got to tell some of the kids that cut through my yard to STOP IT. It's especially annoying when they cut across the back and come really close to the plumerias. I'm afraid of the pots getting knocked over. All the more reason to wait to plant them until the fence goes up. That's gotta wait until Feb/March.

Yack at y'all later-think I want some of the ice cream. It was BOGO, so each kid got to pick-and Kevin picked coffee ice cream Probably because I was shocked that the Publix brand was Barnie's Coffee ice cream!

Ahh, Nancy, it figures that they'd be from 2002. I guess I'm not going to be able to get those. No, I won't tell you how to get old beanies, I'm already contrbuting to the topper sickness! And she wants a character I avoid, lol!

Phew, it's hard enough keeping up with how many toppers to get nowadays, lol! I gave one of my coworkers the bud vase idea-she's got a cyber green bug that is crying out for mickey toppers.

Pod casts are sooo much fun, we're watching diggnation right now and I'm laughing my butt off. That's what happens when you're a tech head.

Suzanne, so now the neighborhood kids think you are the mean lady down the block, huh?! Darn right they shouldn't be cutting thru your yard, though!! Whatever happened to respect for other people's property?!! Way to hold your ground with the school, too! I don't understand how some of the teachers got where they are with some of the attitudes I've come up against. Hope things are going to improve from here on out.

I wasn't a yelling shrew, but I made it clear that I did not want anyone walking through my yard, when there's a very nice sidewalk designed for that purpose. If that doesn't work, I might string some electrical fence until the white one goes up!

Morning All,

Yep its 2:30. Made the mistake of falling asleep right after dinner so now Im up. My bod figures it got its 8 hours of sleep. Im just sitting down with a cuppa joe and reading the boards. I will probably go lay back down until 5 when Im really supposed to get up.

Nancy I dont know if I told you but CONGRATS on getting the house painted. Im so sorry your plants got trampled. Happened here too when we painted our house.

Tara Im so sorry your first day was so rough. Im also sorry you missed Jar getting on the bus for the first time. One of the bad things about being a working mom is missing the firsts.....I can totally relate.

I got interim reports on both boys. My eldest is in deep doo doo. Although he got mostly A's and a B+ which is very hard to do with this program he also got a C. Now if it were that he couldnt do the work and thats the best he could do we wouldnt be upset but it was because he didnt get things turned in that he got the C. His game-boy and computer have been taken away until actual report cards come out and we see that grade go up.

Intrim on my youngest was pretty okay exept that he is having problems with organization and staying on task. Im not sure if he is just not on enough meds or what for his ADHD. I would hate to up the amount he takes. Im going to try to set up a meeting with the teacher and get her views on this and ask her for suggestions on how we can help.

Elaine Im glad to hear that Gwennie girl is doing better. Poor baby, Poor you. I bet you miss Miss Nubs but you did the best thing for your furbaby famly.

Well I guess I will snuggle back into bed until I have to get up at 5

Suzanne, can you come and yell at dog owners who let their dogs come and poop on our lot? We're a corner lot and they like to cut through and do their business w/o cleaning up

I got my bike out today and rode it aroudn a little. The funny thing is we have hooks in the garage to put the bike back up when I'm done... bad thing is I can't reach them and we didn't know that when Luis put it there. I could get it down okay but putting it back up is a whole other ball game

Went for a bike ride (on my "real" bike) and I don't think I'll do that again. It doesn't switch gears right so I nearly had to walk it home a couple of miles.

Of course I didn't have my cell phone on me either, though not sure who I'd call... at least I didn't go more than 5 miles from home
