She is doing better... wary of downstairs still, so I imagine tomorrow evening will bring us back to complete normalcy. Maybe some day we'll talk to an animal behaviorist about this. Maybe find out why she got worse as time went on instead of better.

Suzanne, have fun hunting down costumes. I was looking for one this year (yep, I dress up and usually go to a party or two yearly) but then I remembered I have angel wings I didn't get to use yet. I was going to look for a white dress this summer for it, but never found a set that I liked. Instead I suppose I could use my white capris and white lace shirt to be an angel

Nancy, honestly I hadn't thought of that... I just know Luis was more concerned than I was at first... I wanted to keep her so bad I probably blocked some of it out. We'll deal with this kind of hting later maybe... not for a long whiel though.

Gwen finally went downstairs all by herself (if I followed her) and we went down to the basement too. She keeps checking where the pup was, so I imagine tomorrow or Weds at the latest we'll be okay again

Still have the little fence today, but that is easy.
Next weekend, plant maintenance. They really took a beating

Just back from dinner. We left the boys with the sitter and actually enjoyed our dinner!! 100% of their sales went to the Red Cross. So we made a nice donation Then we hit the grocery store and now I'm headed to bed. Gotta be up by 545 so I can get to the gym in time to get home, shower, and get dressed for work!

Evening, all!

It was a nice, easy day. Over to Target for Neil's script, then I decided as we were almost home that I wanted pizza. Right there in front of us was a place I'd been told was just like NY, but they were closed. So we ended up at Pizza Hut. It was the best pizza I've ever had from Pizza Hut (I'm not a fan of them-the NYer in me).

I have a habit of reading the online version of my hometown newspaper. One of their columnists, Jimmy Breslin has a column right now that I agreed with 100% about the New Orleans situation. It's a rare day that I agree with JB, but interesting reading what I'd been thinking.

Someone here on the DIS put up a typing test thing a few months ago, so I went and played with it today. Wrists not hurting definitely has improved my typing-by about 10 WPM!

Going to enjoy another day off tomorrow by doing some errands Someday, I'll be able to have a day off and not have to do a single thing outside the house!

No I didn't get up in time! I turned on my alarm but didn't check the time. I was thinking that I got up at 545 all week last week. Wrong! I got up at 645 on Friday so the damn thing was set for 645! ugh! I swear if I get a new license plate it is going to say "IMA DORK"

I've survived my first two classes. Rough crowd. They don't want to be in this class b/c they are missing an elective, they don't think they need to be in this class, and they are just plain 7th graders!! I have already noticed one that I think will be a bit of a pain in the behind!!

We had a surprise birthday party for Mrs. AA this weekend and it went very well. I hope y'all enjoyed your Labor Day also.

Hi ya'll!! What a lovely weekend here!! Glad to hear about all the other great weekends that were had, too. Dave and I actually had a day off together so we celebrated with a movie. Finally got to see Johnny Depp play Willie Wonka and I loved it!! Laundry got done, dinners got cooked and choirs went back into rehearsal too. Dave's new job schedule has him working the late shift every other month, so he can't make bell rehearsal those months. But the new director told him she'd like him to come when he can, because we will be playing at Sunday service every month, so he can play the months he's on days!

My Sunday at the store was not without incident, but everything worked out fine. We ran out of small bills (everybody uses 20s these days!) and one of the registers decided it was on strike. It took me awhile to get the morning routine stuff done and even longer to close up, but I'm told that's just inexperience. It's just so exciting--keyholder is a management position and I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd be any kind of a manager!!

Elaine, I'm so sorry about Gwen's reaction to the puppy!! Such a heartbreaking situation! Glad to hear she's coming out of it, though. Hope all is back to normal shortly.

LOL!!! Tiara, I love your new name!! So how did the microwave abrasion kit work? Sounds fascinating!!! I'm thinking I need to hang with you and Rose Mary at WDW, too. That blue stuff you were drinking looks mighty interesting! Sorry about the alarm clock issue this morning. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've done that, myself! Hope your rough crowd settles down a bit and don't give you grief the entire school year.

Aww, Sherry, it's so good to hear things are well with baby Caleb and his mom! Can't wait to see pix, I bet he's just a little doll. I think it's just wonderful that you have so much family nearby and can watch the families grow.

Suzanne, way to go on 2 days off in a row!! Sorry you didn't get to try the pizza place, hopefully it will be open next time you're in the mood. Jimmy Breslin......name sounds so familiar. I'm thinking I went to a lecture at college by someone with the same name back in 1971--he had written a book.....about current events at that time, I think. Might be the same guy--I seem to remember he was from NY!!

Nancy, it must be a HUGE relief to finally have that painting done!! Whew, what a process it has been! But I bet it looks absolutely wonderful, now. You say the plants took a beating? You mean somebody wasn't watching his big feet or the ladder and they got trampled? Hope they come back OK. btw, I think your cabana guy makes a very interesting Willie Wonka! I rather liked him clean-shaven!

Guess I had best get back to work. Lots to do--the acquisition did not go thru, after all. To be honest, I never really thought boy-genius would allow anyone else to be the majority shareholder or that he would actually work for someone else. That ego is just too darn big.

Bethie, sometimes things just aren't meant to be. I am afraid that Gwenie just wasn't able to handle it. We're happy together now so life is good!

Imagine this, I ran out of my contact solution so I started using a small travel sized bottle I have. I've been using Target brand since it's cheaper and my travel size was the "name brand" my eyes have been bugging me since I switched, so who'd have thunk... a name brand is actually worse than the cheaper version.

Yes, Beth....ladders and feet) broke a lot of the plants. They have grown a lot since last time we painted. It was a PITA to get around a lot of them

Okay, where did y'all go again... don't make me pout

Ran a bunch of errands today! Got the 2006 version of the Unofficial Guide. I haven't had a new one since 1999 (last family trip) so I figured it was time again. BOY has it changed!

Our house seems mostly back to normal. I still miss the pup (I called her Nubs now and then because of her cute little stubby tail) but it'll fade. How I wish we could've kept her... but we can't with Gwen Bug so we'll get past it.

Off to do some shopping online at VS... the lady at the store was almost convinced they were dropping my cup size They were just severely out of stock I guess.

Had a CD problem. Trying to reload some pictures on and the CD is only reading half of them I sure hope they aren't lost!!
