Tara I think the doc and I worked out a really good plan for me. Dh even promised me a vacation to the Poly Concierge if I lost the weight. So now I have two good incentive to take off the weight. I have a lot to lose so the vaca wont be until next year but its something to look forward to.

Do you have any aloe where you are? I wish I could get some to you we have a plant right outside. It is one of the best things for sunburn.

Suzanne you know what I think you would be awesome at is being a librarian in a school. Your knowlege of books is amazing and the kids would benefit so much from that. Your description of that one set of books made ds and I go right out and buy them. He has reading time during homeroom where everyone reads. He is going to start the books next week. I would have loved growing up with a librarian that really knew stuff about the books instead of just pointing in the direction where you could find them. I bet you would get a lot of kids really into reading.

Well Im off to beddie bye. Gotta get up early in the AM.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

Karen,

Agreed-I would LOVE to be a librarian. The reality is that I need certs to do it, so I'll probably still volunteer. I have a county librarian who works for me at my store part time-we both geek on books together!

suzanne

Don'tcha hate it when you can't sleep. I've been trying to for about oh.... 3 hours  Decided to try the laptop to see if that could get my eyes tired more quickly ;)

Suzanne, sorry about life stresses getting to you! I do hope things won't be so bad for you soon. I can't believe that they are still holding your deposit. Have fun getting the money back whenever they fork it over!

Tara, I like being a couch potato... I think I've done that since about Weds afternoon :p Sorry about the sunburn, I do hope that pain lessens for you soon. Somehow that made me think of my good friend Hannah. Every summer we'd go to a state park with some of her family and friends. Every year she would insist that she didn't need suntan lotion... every year, we'd spend the first few nights with her in pain ;) Not entirely sure what made me think of that with you mentioning sunburn, but that was one of our annual rituals. She finally learned about suntan lotion when she became a lifguard. I think she always got annoyed though, that I'd never have to worry about lotion and she didn't want to be "uncool" and have to put it on so often. I think our last year we were there though, we weren't in the cabins and we kind of knew that was "it" for us... I slathered her up good... she laughed...

Karen, I am glad that you think you have a good thing worked out with your doc. And a trip to the Poly concierge is a great incentive! I always say that maybe some day I'll make it back there... not sure when though, but it is a great place to go.

So far this isn't helpng me sleep much. I think my body is officially wacked out after being lazy for too many days. At least Luis doesn't expect me to go to church tomorrow. And honestly, I couldn't sing to save my life so it would be odd to go and not sing. Very much so!

Im right with ya Elaine. I cant sleep either. I have been up and down all night. Just having my first cuppa java and realxing and reading the boards while its quiet. My coworker gave me a new coffeepot and I LOVE IT. Ours bit the dust and she told me not to buy one that she had one we could have. Its a DeLongi and it makes great coffee and you can set it to timer.

Suzanne I am so glad you at least can volunteer. Every school should have someone like you around. I dont think getting kids to read would be as hard if they had someone like you who makes each book sound so exciting. You actually have me wanting to read the Tripod books after my eldest reads them! Right now he is reading Eragon. He is totally in his glory that he has an hour of school where he is required to read. He totally loves reading and this is just so wonderful for him. Monday they are taking his class to the main Library up there. He has his library card and is raring to go!

Anybody seen my blowdryer? I was using it in the bedroom and it seems to have disappeared. Hmmmmm wondering if my spunky seven year old was using it for a ray gun or something LOL.

Well I guess I better start getting ready for church before the kidlets get up. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!!! :grouphug:

I was just gonna squeal. I did it! I thought it would be fun whilst still being in the costume party mood to play with those strya cabana guys.
:teeth:
Susan, hope you are feeling much better since your stay away from home. I must go search out your other thread, but well wishes for you here.

JRKaren, you are the best. Thanks for saving us.

Beth, sorry that the numbers are dwindling. So glad to hear that your work computer is in fine shape and that timer issue is gone.

Elaine, so sorry that you can't shake that cold. Hang out in the spa a bit longer. I'm sure those treatments will do well. You seem to have your cabana boys so busy.

Suzanne, so sending PD that all yor issues resolve in a way you would like. Seems like that security deposti issue is taking forever to be done. Sorry that it is a time of difficult things. Librarian, yep, seems like you would have so much fun with that volunteer job. People who volunteer to do what they like are always the best. Too bad it couldn't be something paying in dollars instead of warm fuzzy feelings.

Nancy, how close to done are you?

Todd, nice pic of Junior.

Sherry, I'm sure Junior won't be too mad at Todd. Junior is such fun. You make a great couple and family.

Karen, glad to hear your good news about DSs and school. Hope your shots give you the relief you need to be able to get that trekking going and that those lost pounds will make the back issues better. PD for you.

Tara, hope you found your cabana dude to put on somthing for that sunburn.

I had f full day yesterday. Went for my stroll at 6:30 a.m. :earseek: Did 6 miles. Met another trail stranger and we chatted up a bit. Turns out he is doing the Disney full so I look forward to more chats with him as trail time allows. Got home grabbed the cuppas and oatmeal then it was house work! Oh la la la la la, it was so fun. Got a lot more done than I anticipated b/c our fundraiser got rained out. DH and I went out and stopped at Starbucks for a relaxing Cafe Mocha and then it was home where I finished the second Mitford Series book. Today is sunny and lovely. I am feeling achy from yesterday, going to get a cuppa just now and grab something to eat.

Hi to all those I missed!

Later...

Morning!

Quick hi before I have to jump in the shower. We are having a church picnic after church, and me & the boys are going to the park with my SIL & another guy from church to claim one of the pavilions. Junior is going to church with BIL. After the church picnic, I have to come home, make some taco dip and head to my aunt & uncle's for a family picnic.

Lily & Karen, thanks for the nice comments. :) :)

Todd, Junior misses you, too. ::yes:: We'll have to get together soon. :)

Elaine, feel better soon.

OK, gotta go.

:moped:

Morning all... kind of tired, but not bad considering the lack of sleep last night. I feel better otherwise (if that makes sense) so I should be back to normal soon.

Sorry Karen, no hair dryer sighted here... and funny I think the last time I used one was to dry out a sifter of mine... did ya check the kitchen? :teeth:

Lily, you have me envious, I haven't been able to bike since Weds, and I didn't realize how much I truly enjoyed it! Hope your aches go away soon though.

Sherry, have fun at the picnic! Sounds like it should be fun!

I'm off to shower and hope that might help wake me up :)

Morning, all.

Was going to go over to Mom's today and help with housework and shopping, but she still sounds under the weather. We gave it a pass. My eldest sister is coming to visit for a week, so I thought I'd be good and help.

This means they're all coming to visit me, because Mom goes on and on about my house to everyone! Not too thrilled about that, this is the sister who is a major blabbermouth-ruined my fun of telling the whole family I was expecting Neil and then called the hospital pretending to be another sister (to Ed) and found out we'd had Neil. She called the whole family at 1am, and when I called at a more respectable hour to share our great news, they all knew!

I think it's too hot out there to do the zoo, so housecleaning and perhaps a movie are on the agenda. Pork chops for dinner, I just need to start marinating them!

Lainey, guess it's a good thing you decided to pass on going to church. It doesn't sound like you got much sleep! I agree, it'd be hard to go and NOT sing.

Lily, cool that you met someone who's doing the Disney marathon! How's that walking going? Mmmmn, now I want to make a pot o joe, decadent dark chocolate.

Karen, we have two coffee pots here. When Ed started drinking coffee again, I'd gotten him a 4 cup jobbie one christmas. By the next Christmas, I had started drinking coffee and he bought me a 10 cup machine. The four cup is headed to my store-all of us drink coffee-all of us LOVE Barnies. Just gotta pick up styrofoam cups-cuz I know the cups won't get washed out! Glad he's looking forward to the Tripods. We were given the battle of the books list for Neil, and have to go get them. The principal told Neil he wants him on the team this year!

Tara, I've resembled that sunburn. Kinda like Lainey's friend, because my dad would take my sister and I to the beach every Sunday. They both got the dark irish/indian coloring, me the milk white skin. I'd burn, they'd look great. I can't tell you the last time I was to a beach before 5pm, I'm not planning to repeat the owies!

Since we're looking for stuff, has anyone seen my cell phone? My family ghost has finished playing with my nametags for work, now he's taken the phone! Blow dryer definitely isn't here, I don't use one!

Suzanne

Good morning. I hope everyone is feeling better if they weren't, and out having fun. Before you know it all of us will be back into the old school routine.

Yesterday my oldest DD24 came over. I had to chuckle to myself. She was treating me like I was an invalind. (spelling?) Since I was told I could only wash my hair in the kitchen sink for a while for fear of dirt getting into my wounds on my legs she insisted on washing my hair. then when I went to go into the shower she is trailing along behind me and asking if I wanted my back washed. Then sat on the toliet seat to make sure I didn't fall or anything.

Funny, I am fine except for the fact that I have a lot dead skin which is flaking off, and my shins look really ugly because of that. She was even arguing with me saying she should put the cream on my legs, not me.

Everyone always teased me about being a mother hen, well DD has taken over. LOL I kind of liked that position not ready to give it up.

Today DH and DD24 are going to the theatre to see the movie Skeleton Key, which I am not interested in so DD11 and I will go see Sky High. Lucky for us the showtimes are pretty close.

I can't hang around too long cause I have to shower and put my cream on legs before we go. I've been wearing long dresses so my pants don't rub against the lose scaly skin but I feel so stupid since all I can wear is my tennies right now. I wanted to go to church but feel stupid and self conscience with my ugly legs. My family insisted it will be ok since we are going to the movies were it will be dark and no one will see the legs.
Where the logic lies who knows. :rotfl2:

I think I saw the cabana boys up by the pool playing keep away with it :confused3

Elaine, hope you feel better

Suzanne, hope those job issues clear up for you.

Susan, glad to hear that you're doing better. From experience...let your daughter play mother hen right now...it'll go back to normal in a month or two. I'm 28 and always welcome a chance when I can play mother hen to my mom. She's always taken such great care of me, that I just want to return the favor.

Sherry have a great time at the picnic!

Karen, sorry I don't have the hair dryer. Since I took all the cool scrapping stuff from the cabana boys, they may have taken it.

Lily, 6:30 stroll? :earseek: WOW....and then 6 miles on top of that.....can you please share the motivation?

Tara I hope your sunburn is better today.

 Nancy, JRKaren, Alan, Deena, RM, Pam, Beth, Kimmie...anybody else I forgot.

I need to get some laundry going, then I'm going to veg on the couch and watch the race. If I may....could y'all send some pixie dust this way? The baby dust I had before just doesn't seem to be working. Thanks!

Kristy,

Pixie dust for your driver? Or for baby making?

Both are welcomed...but primarily asking for the baby making :) THANKS!!

You all are too funny!! Dh finally found my blowdryer. It was across the room from where I was using it in one of the other dresser drawers. How it got all the way over there I will never know. Suzanne I think your house ghost has a brother. I will look for your cellphone for ya! LOL.

I got a lot of really nice comments on my hair today. Every time I turned around someone said something to me about it. Felt really nice. Im going to keep doing it this way because everyone seems to like it better and so do I. Today was View to a Call for our Worship Minister.......yep we lost another pastor right after our lead pastor started. This guy was REALLY good. Just as good if not better than the last one we had. Im hoping he revamps the music department and maybe starts a youth choir and continues the plays the kids put on. I really think he is going to be voted in next Sunday. We have a meet and greet to go to at 4 PM to get to know him personally.

Elaine are you able to get a nap in today at all?? Poor you. Wish there was something I could do to make you feel better.

Suzanne what is Battle of the Books? We dont have that down here. We have Reading Across Broward where they have to read either 100 easy books for k-2. or 50 chapter books for 3-5 to get a trophy and get on the Superintendents List.

Kristy tons of baby pixie dust coming your way. It will happen sweetie when you least expect it. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Susan Im glad you are feeling better. Let your kiddo play momma hen. I bet she is in her glory finally getting to help you out. What did happen to your leg. I have been unable to find your post. Have fun at the movies this afternoon.

Sherry have fun at both picnics. Sounds like a busy busy but fun day for
you.

Lily I am so glad you found someone who is doing the Disney Marathon to chat with on your walks. That is so neat!!! Yep Im doing tons and tons better and I have figured a schedule for the treadmill in the morning. LOL I went over it while we were driving to church and dh said "Mind explaining this to me later I cant drive and figure out your schedule at the same time." MEN....they just cant multitask ROFL!!! Pssst Ive lost 7 pounds without exercise and I wasnt exactly a perfect dieter. One of the girls at church told me today that Crystal Light makes a raspberry iced tea and Im gonna pick that up.

Well I think Im gonna go get a short nap before we have to be back at church. I will checkin laters.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Hi gang,

Thanks for the good thoughts on the sunburn...but the truth of the matter is that I'm just a dork!!! I put the sunscreen on the kids when we went to WC but I never got around to putting it on me. But as someone pointed out...if I didn't have such "bleach white skin" I wouldn't be so burnt!!! hehehe Elaine I can relate to the girl who never wore it. My gfs in NC used to tease me b/c I would either try to be cool with them (they looked like natives) and not wear it or I would forgot places

the burn is better today. I could get my bra on today without cringing too much! :teeth: The cabana boys did help with the lotion last night!!!

lots of dust for you Kristy!!!It happened the first time for me when it wasn't planned!! (including the use of the pill!! :O )

Suzanne, don't have your cell phone...sorry. Good luck!

Taking Jar to see Valiant today. He told me that he wanted to see the Penguin movie. But then when I asked him what he wanted to see he said.."the bird movie". Okay, which bird movie? They both have birds? then he described the bird movie with the war stuff. So I knew he meant Valiant. So we'll see if it is any good!!

I'll check back later!!

tara

They aren't sized right, but look at my new signature picture :)

JellyrollsKaren

Just got back from Valiant...however the trip did not start out on a good note.

We headed out and Jarrod decided he had to go potty again. He had just gone not 5 minutes prior but we have had some issues in the last month and so I didn't take any chances (After an issue on Friday night, I'm calling the ped tomorrow to make an appt to get it checked). Anyway, when I went around the block to come back to the house I apparently ran over something and just before my drive my car began to make a "thump thump thump" sound. I swore (under my breath of course :teeth: ) and pulled into the driveway. There was a piece of metal sticking out of my tire and a very loud whooshing sound as the air escaped my pitiful tire.

After I cursed a little more and threatened to not go to the movies (during this time I found some candy Jar had gotten into this morning and lied about) but in the end went anyway.

The movie was cute, not a classic in my opinion but cute anyway,

Now I'm waiting for AAA to get here and my dinner is ready. I'll be back more later to complain more!!

tara

Awww, Tara, that really bites. I've had three flats in the past year and am thankful that the dealer talked me into the tire warranty.

Kevin and I went to see Sky High. Loved it. I think what I love more is the whole way home, Kevin is pondering the different superheroes and telling me who is strong and who isn't. Like Spiderman isn't strong because he doesn't pick up buildings! :rotfl: I absolutely LOVE his thought processes.

Gotta go put the pork chops on the grill, be back later.

Suzanne

Whew what a day. We just got home from the meet and greet of the man they want to be the new Minister of Worship. I never realized how political churches can get before tonight. Whoa. Quite an eye opener. We had a question and answer and then a meeting where Chris left and we as a church talked. Thats when all the political stuff came in. There are definte sides in this church, the contemporaries and the traditionalists but I guess its that way with all churches. It just amazed me how cranky it got. My eldest learned a lot tonight about the way the church works because he sat in on the meeting because as a church member he also gets to vote next Sunday. He was also interested in what they had in the works for the middle and high school kids since we have nothing in the music ministry for them now. I did speak up and say how important it was that something be put into place for this age group as these are the toughest years of a kids life, the years where we lose kids to all the evils that are around this world of ours. The youth minister and I talked also after the meeting and he assured me that what I expressed tonight and what I expressed to him a couple of weeks ago was not going by the wayside that they had plans they just werent sure what yet.

Tara I am so sorry to hear about your flat tire. Yikes. Im glad you liked the movie.

Suzanne Im glad you liked Sky High. My two have been wanting to see that and we have free tickets to the movie theater from dh's work. We were wondering how it was. Isnt it neat to listen to a young ones thought processes. I love when mine do that. Its just so kewl to see how their minds work.

Well dh just finished making dinner and we are being called to eat. I will checkin laters before beddiebye.

HUGS TO ALL!! :grouphug:

Evening all... heading to sleep soon... still tired since I didn't let myself fall asleep today. The last thing I wanted was to be up at 3 am again ;)

Kristy, sending lots of PD your way. That's something I know I won't be looking forward to. The waiting and finding out if it's happened or not. Actually why I don't plan to tell my familiy or many friends... I hate disappointment.

Susan, I agree, let your DD do all she can! Trust me, it's a nice feeling when you can take care of your parents. And I'm sure she wnats to do all she can :)

JRKaren, nice new sig pic! Oh and yay for normal test results... hope teh symptoms never come back.

Karen, enjoy the new hairstyle. Every once in a while I think about coloring my hair again... but I can't bring myself to do it again. I suppose I should get a haircut some day though.

Tara, so sorry about the flat... that was something my dad taught me to do so I didn't have to wait on AAA. I actually just had to get a nail removed on my tire last week. It was a slow leak on mine though... last nail nearly blew the tire.

Suzanne, glad you enjoyed the movie! Looked cute!

Okay, tired... see y'all in the morning :)
