Just a not e- wanted to say thanks to all of you for letting me "bare my soul" on my Chris issues.
I normally would not tell anyone....

Although I do not condone his actions I am greatful that he was able to step up and apologize. I know we are all human and as such sometimes our emotions get the best of us - add a teenager to that mix ....that being said I totally support the school's "zero tolerance" policy.

Have to tell you it was nice to hear chris say last night "I told the truth - I'm not a liar and I'm not a fighter and I didn't disrespect the Dean of students' - that's why she only gave me ISS (meaning he did not give attitude).

I think I am going to curl up in bed with my sweetie for the night... and try this knitting thing some more :)

ACK..TMI...most people find a silk scarf sexy, but you are actually knitting something?

Karen, I hope things get back to normal as soon as possible.

Ted is on his way and I will see him in 14 days.

Aww.. Obviously, I do sympathize with you. I think you need to keep busy to keep your mind occupied. Would you like to come over and assist with two adorable little girls? :teeth:

THank you Elaine!! THank you!!!

I tried getting on this morning and the dang thing kept giving me a message saying the content was blocked b/c of "sexed/advanced" material. I wondered what the heck you all were talking about. So I sent a PM, strange I could do that, to Elaine and asked her what you all were talking about!! lol! She sent me an ip to use instead of the thing I was using and it worked!!

Before I give you my saga of the day!
Suzanne..I'm glad your neice was able to help you with your sister. many thoughts your way!!

Paula...glad Chris was mature enough to apologize and that the Dean was responsible enough to see that and acknowledge it.

Karen...omg...no electricity still?? ack! Hope things get up and running before then for you.

JRKaren...glad Scotty is back. Hope we get to see him that night.

Pam...crap on a cracker for your computer (see I do learn things from you! :teeth: )

Okay now the saga of the morning.
I get this call from my mom and the first thing she says is "he's all right"...dum da dum dum...What did he (jarrod) do?? He *says* he was laying on the floor and put his hands on the bottom of the new big tv and it *accidentally* fell on him. This tv is huge and weighs a ton. We got it this summer to replace a dead tv. WE got a nice big one (not the giant ones) and it is very heavy. He has a bruise on his forehead (apparently looks a little like Harry Potter), one arm is bruised up and his leg is bruised. Mom could tell that there was no way the tv came down like that and she told him he better fess up. I asked her to put him on the line and he told me the same thing but when I told him that I wasn't going to put up with lying he told me the truth, "see I was being a monster, and I had to crawl up the tv to get the bad guys and the tv falled on me"....So my wonderrful  child thought he was spider man and was going to scale the damn tv!! ugh!!! I tell you what he is really lucky that tv is okay...cause I would have had to hurt him if he broke the new tv set ;)

He is fine, the tv works, but it has to lay on its side on the floor until I get home. I don't know what i'm gonna do with this kid!!

Oh, and because I have an 800 pound man sitting on my chest right now. I've made an appt. to see my doc tomorrow (having a manectomy :teeth: ) so I'm taking the whole day off!! Not really how I wanted my hookey day...guess that's what I get for wishing for one!!

Okay, gotta run. Thanks again Elaine for giving me this address. I will find a way to save it so that I can get back to it if the dang thing gives me a hard time again!! heheh

tara

Tara, so glad that worked for you!!! I've known others to have issues and getting in via IP usually does work :)

Paula, thanks for the sunshine! It really did work :teeth: And I can totally understand about Chris. We all do "stupid" things now and then, and it sounds like he is owning up to it. I'm sure had he not had the sub and probably been bored, it wouldn't have happened. Of course now if he sounded like a trouble maker, then I wouldn't say anything remotely like that!

Nancy, enjoy your day of whatever :) I usually have no luck with the after holiday sales here. All the good stuff usually goes fast! That's why I was shocked I had such a good selection and price before Halloween this year. Usually the prices suck AND all the good stuff is gone at hte beginning of Oct!

Pam, good luck with the computer and stuff! What a PITA! And yep cool here but supposed to be warmer this week. I hope you get some of that too!

Alan, you are baaaaad! It was just knitting... no code or nothin ;)

Oh and Tara, I am sorry, the story had me laughing too! I am just glad he is okay. but no more Spidey stuff for him I hope! (as in I hope he doesn't try it again ;)) Good luck at the doc, not the best way to be off, but better than nothing!

Updating some drivers then back to folding laundry. I am actually starting to pack up for WDW )

See, I TOLD y'all TV is too violent!

Well don't advertise it or everyone will want one!

Alan!! you are too funny!!!

Now here is a story...I now know why I don't like the kids I teach.

There's this one kid in my 8th grade group who I heard was a gang banger. I didn't think too much of it since he has always been a sweetie for me. Well, I find out today that he is withdrawing from school. The reason he is withdrawing is that on Halloween he stole a kids bucket of candy (the boy was handing it out to the trick or treaters), when the kid chased him to get the candy back, he stabbed the kid. The kid is in critical condition and my student is in jail :( Not a good way to end the day!

Hi all....

Elaine - glad the sunshine helped. Thanks for the nice words about Chris - Actually the dean said the same thing - that he is never in her office - that and the fact he apologized only gave him the ISS - which by the way he had to service today - no field trip - just had to sit in a room with a book.

Tara - thank god Jar and the TV are ok!! What little boys and their imaginations will do - reminded me of Chris famous line when he was little "I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do that". Good luck at the doctors tomorrow!

Feeling a bit yucky....making coffee.....

OH my goodness Tara - just read your other post about your student- how scarey and sad at the same time.....

Guess we shouldn't tell Alan what we've all been up to, should we? ;)

Tara :(
That is so sad all around...

Paula, missing the field trip and sitting in a room all day with just a book actually sounds like fair punishment to me! Hope you are feeling better!

It's not cold out, but I feel cold today... some hot pasta is in the oven baking for dinner :)

Sad, Tara. Had the same thing happen in the school I was in :(
Sorry, but :rotfl: about Jarred. Reminds me of Geoff  H was always doing things like that. I'm surprised he lived to become an adult.

It is a bit chilly here today. :cold: I hear we had a bit of snow in the mountains. I am sure the ski resorts will be happy. They had no season last year.

Hi there, Ya Ya Family!! We've been having what my mom used to call pneumonia weather, here. Chilly mornings followed by very warm afternoons. Never know how to dress for the weather :confused3 Wish it would just stay cool so we could leave the thermostat in one position. This back and forth between heat and A/C is such a PITA!

:rotfl: OMG, Tara!! I'm sooooo glad Spidey.....I mean, Jarrod, is OK!! I guess his sticky webs didn't work well today, huh? Went thru the same kind of stuff with my DS when he was little, too. I think it must be some kind of "rite of passage"--not sure who's rite it is, tho', mom or the kid! What a shame about that student of yours, too. I just don't understand why these kids think such violence is necessary. Now there's a couple of young men who need prayers, for sure.

Awwww.....poor Lily!! Sorry to hear your Teddybear is off for the deep south, leaving you home alone with the pups, the boys and mom. But hey! WTG on the promotion, Madam Moderator!! Hopefully that little side job will help to keep you busy and keep your mind off missing your sweetie.

Ummmm, Elaine, I'll be right over! Pasta sounds right yummy to me! Funny, I'm doing laundry and was just thinking about maybe starting to set aside some stuff for WDW, too! LOL!! GMTA

Yes, Alan, TV is definitely too violent!! Especially, Tara's TV!! :rotfl:

Nancy, thanks for keeping at it until you were able to upload Desia's picture! She made a positively adorable pink flamingo!! And the winter lover in me would really like to see some of that snow in the mountains. "Sweater weather" is my absolute favorite!!

Paula, it sounds like you've gotten thru to Chris, too, on the morals/ethics front! There aren't many teens these days who would have the maturity and strength of character to not only admit they were wrong, but also to apologize for it! Chris should be very proud of himself and I'm sure you are too!

Pam, what's this about the PC getting a Trojan? My goodness, what kind of computer IS it??!! It must be full of that "sexed/advanced" material Tara was talking about if it needs a Trojan!! :rotfl:

Ditching choir tonight--I am too pooped to sing. I spent my day off at the store today (on OT!!) because of the visit from the corporate big wigs. My manager told me to be there about 10, cuz they were supposed to be there about 11, and I could go home as soon as they left. Guess who didn't show up until nearly 1:30 and then stayed 4 hours?!!! Never got to go to lunch because we had been told that they wanted to talk to each member of the management staff. Didn't happen and it was a slow sales day, besides, so we were all basically wandering around straightening and re-straightening and re-re-straightening all day long. Thank goodness it's over, for now!

Well, I have some t-shirt transfers to print and some more laundry to do, so I'd better get to it while I have the time. Ya'll have a great evening! :grouphug:

Be right there! Well, I'm not sure how to play with little girlies though. I raised boys and was a Tom Boy myself. It could be interesting.

Suzanne, :hug It is such an incredible thing you are going through. I hope you are finding the time you need to grieve. It seems like you are doing for everyone else. Glad that you feel you can come here. We are here for you for sure.

Beth. Such a PITA waiting for ever like that. Glad it wasn't too overwhelming though.

Tara, Whoa on the kidlet thing. I guess you have to bolt everything to the structure. Glad he and the set are ok. Sorry about the young one in school. Such tragedy for no real reason.

Paula, glad that Chris is handling things better today.

Karen, still thinking of you and all around there. I don't think I would be liking the Daniel Boone lifestyle for that long.

DH is settled in at his first destination. He is midway now. One more day of driving and he will arrive to the trenches. I am feeling a bit better after a stressful day. Had another class and this one was a total disappointment for many reasons. The evaluation we all left will probably be trashed. We were all disappointed. It makes me feel so miserable b/c it is so difficult to get off from work and it was wasted time. I don't really want to tell my boss about it either. We were released from this class a bit earlier today and the redemption for me is that I made it to take my walk outdoors before the sun went down. It was a bit more chilly than I expected, but I kept warm by moving quicker. I did good.

Pictures of the loot :rotfl: They made quite a haul.

Yep...snow in them mountains....hard to believe we just went over there a couple weeks ago. One of the ski places is opening Friday!! Earliest opening in 28 years. Hopefully it will stay for them...they had virtually nothing last year.

I'll take pasta too....don't know what I'll have for dinner since I am all alone :charac2:

Hey gang,

I made it home. I checked out Spidey....I took some pictures of his forehead and his arm, but you can't really tell what they are. I guess that is a good thing! My mom wrote a note to the teacher telling her what happened (did I already mention this?? :confused3 ) and the teacher apparently grilled Jarrod on what happened. My luck she will call CPS on me and try to have me on neglect issues. I hope she understands that kids do stupid things, no matter where you are in the house. UGH! boy am I glad that I'm not going to work tomorrow.

I was talking to an admin person about the young man that stabbed the other guy and we were talking about how out of all the emotionally disturbed kids we have (I have six or 8 total) that this one didn't seem like the one to do something like this. Now if it had been one of my 7th graders I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised. He's one that i worry I'm going to piss off and he's going to come after me. So i try my hardest to not do that!!

Lily...sorry your class stunk! I've had way too many classes like that!
Beth...oh the lovely world of retail....didn't they tell you that the visits never go the way you think they will go!!!

to everyone else hugs....I can't breath so I'm going to get some hot tea and lay down. I'll visit tomorrow!

tara

Evening all... a bit tired for no good reason either. I think I just want to curl up in a hole and keep warm!

Pasta all around for everyone! I have some left... baked penne (tomato, cheese & beef sauce)!

Bethie, that's kind of why I started packing. All my summer stuff was just washed so I packed most of it away. Amazingly I think I can do this all in carry on this trip as well. I just hate dealing with baggage.
I hope you take it easy at work. It sounds like you've been doing more than your share lately though!

Lily, so sorry the class was such a bust. I hate when that does happen. Glad you got your walk in though. I hope the rest of the trip down for Ted will be a good one!

Nancy, I love those pics there! Looks like they got a lto of good stuff!

What on earth would the teacher grill Jarrod like that for? I always thought kids did "stupid" things. I know my brother did now and then... hope it doesn't lead to anything.

Okay, I was watching That 70s Show (not as good as it used to be) and now trading spouses is on... yuck. What is wrong with people!

Quiet evening in here.
Everyone got something better to do? Not me ......I get to sleep in tomorrow :)

I would imagine so Nancy... then again I think I also went to bed a little early last night as well. Just cold & tired

Today is supposed to be a beautiful day though. I hope I get to enjoy it some ::yes::

Hope you enjoyed sleeping in Nancy :)

HEY!!!!!

Wake up!!!!!!

Going to lunch with my dad in an hour or so... got any good ideas on where to go? :teeth:

Gee....are you feeling lonely, Elaine? ;)
Where has everyone been?

I still woke up at the same time....dang internal alarm. Went to bed later too.

Morning.

Nancy, can ya have a nap for me? I was kinda looking forward to vegematating today, however, my sister's husband talked her out of flying home last night..."spend time w/Neil and Kevin". Well, duh, they're in school and she leaves at 4pm!

I drove youngest sis to the airport this morning, because I had to tell her the brother woes...man o man, I'm writing all this stuff down. I couldn't make it up if I tried!

My buddy Donna came down from Jacksonville-based on original thought on wake/funeral date. So she got here yesterday afternoon. I then had Jill come over, too, and we had a nice big dinner. This is the first time the table was opened all the way. It's staying big, lol!

A trip over to Lakeland will probably be in the near future. MIL and SIL's bid on a house was accepted!!! Woohoo!. I want to see it, Ed saw it the other day.
