I just got off the phone with an irate man (about to burst a blood vessel in my head....) and realize that I've been maligned by someone causing a little (lot of) trouble. When DH gets back in the office, I am going to have to unload my anger, although not at him, and I feel horrible that he's going to have to hear my rant, but I need it out of my system.

Paula - keeping my fingers crossed that Chris likes the technical school. My DS was telling me yesterday that all of the Vo-Tech students at his HS are now the cool kids.

I got back from ortho doc last night quite late (8:30-ish). I don't enjoy having dinner that late, but I still ate! Of course I would not pass up a meal.

The news he gave me was good to my ears...whilst I am dealing with various forms of "-itis" at least it is nothing more serious. I'll take that for now.

Actually, I got a PM for JRKaren that reminded me to check the thread and I just took the design someone else made, removed the copyrighted logo and added our own words. And that was after working a 13 hour day, yesterday!!

Why did I work a 13 hour day, yesterday, you ask? Well, I asked an employee to rearrange a section of merchandise to look like the picture we received from corporate. She took it upon herself to keep going on to the next 3 sections and she got frustrated about 1/2 way thru. Made a humongous mess by ripping all the merchandise off the hooks onto the floor. So, of course, our store manager chose to come in 2 hours early and walked into the middle of it. I felt it was my responsibility to clean it up, since the girl thought she was following my directions. Sigh..........Thankfully, I have today off to recuperate.

Carrot cake cookies??!! Paula, I NEED that recipe!! (Your Sour Cream Cinnamon muffins were wonderful, btw) Glad to hear Chris has perked up. Sounds like it could very well have been a problem with not taking his meds. Hope he continues to improve and has a good time checking out that college. Kudos to Alyssa on that A+, too!! She seems to be doing great, grade-wise, has she gotten over the worst part of the homesickness?

Tara, hope your head is feeling better today and your idea for the basket sounds like a great gift! Don't know about the BB gift card online use, I kinda doubt it would work. But all the other suggestions for basket contents have been right on! I couldn't agree more on a pair or two of those fuzzy slipper/sox with the non-skid stuff on the soles. Personally, I love those things and have at least 6 pairs!

Thank you for the new oatmeal cookie recipe, Lily! Never used milk in my cookies before and must try that to see what the difference is. Hmm....I just might have to spend my afternoon in the kitchen.

Oh Alan, you always manage to make me And what an appropriate name for a guide dog!! I can't wait to see pix of Pilot and hope that she and Rebecca are getting on famously. LOVED the pix of Princess Leia/Lela!!!!

Grumble grumble... power went out and the cakes only got partially baked before I had to go to the vet. They didn't get quite as high as I would like. I think I will still attempt to ice them tonight and see. If I hate it, he'll get a chocolate bunt cake for tomorrow

Sitting here with my baby on my lap. Vet said she is looking great! She is off one med, will be kept on another for a while, then we'll bring her back in 2-3 weeks and see how she is. If she's okay, then we'll start weaning her from her steroid. No charge either since it was a quick look over

Well, Elaine, I have been accused of being a sloth on occassion...or was that a "slob"....maybe they meant the same thing!!

Thank you for the wonderful ideas. I like the ideas you all have. I especially like the slipper ones. Because of her CP she has terrible circulation and her feet are always cold (not that she notices b/c she doesn't have much feeling in her feet) but she might try to keep them from turning blue!! Hot chocolate was the only thing I could think of....now I have lots of ideas. So I will begin to gather the goodies now so I'll be ready for christmas. Oh, the book idea is great too. She said she is doing a lot of reading and that she is swapping books with other people. So I might find some trashy romance novels and toss them in there too.

I checked out the Blockbuster FAQ and their gift cards are not useable on line. Nor did I dind anywhere to order an online gift card! Stupid company. Oh well, that means more goodies for the basket. I might get a BN or Borders gift card.

I am not planning a DL trip. I have been reading her trip reports and hearing all about the rides and such at DL just make me want to go back (I was last there in 1985...for the 30th).

So i'm thinking summer 2007. So those of you who went last time can you tell me about hte weather, the crowds, and such. Is it too hot (better or worse than FLA), are there 8 zillion people, is it worth spending a week? Any ideas???

Okay, gonna go work again...this job really interferes with my dising!! hehe

Oh, and thanks to all for the support about not having anywhere to go to play hookey....since E's only grandparent is my mom...I can't leave him with a gp. My brother and his wife can handle one kid...not two. *sigh* oh well, I guess if I play hookey I'll have to go to the mall and spend the day by myself!! hehehe But I only a couple more weeks until the trip...so until then I will continue to say "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...."

As for DL... we went last summer in July... it was hot, but not as bad as WDW... but teh crowds in DL itself bugged me. I am NOT a crowd person. But we had a blast and it wasn't too bad. DCA was pretty good for dispersing crowds

I will sign it quickly on a note or something, and I understand that online "E" is quick... but out and out calling me E is not something I really care for. Many do it though Just when E! (Entertainment channel) started (or when it became big... not sure which) I was called that all the time and it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Now EJ I still like

Nancy, I do hope your kitty gets better soon! Every one in a while, Cleo gets a gunky eye. Vet guesses it was usually due to rough housing or something like that. Not fun to put that in her eye

Hit the gym tonight and found out that the woman that works the mornings will not be doing mornings after this week. She bugged me but I thought I was the only one. But tonight the ASM was asking me what I thought of am staff....boy did she get an earful. I told her that I was probably the only one who had problems with her style...and then I went on a 10 min. disertation on why the woman bugged the crap out of me. Turns out that several people had gone to the management about this woman. So they were replacing her with someone else (I don't know if this woman was just being moved to another location or if she was losing the job). I like the girl they are putting in there. So maybe I will try again to get up and go in the am.

Anywho...those of you staying here during the excursion off the boat into Florida...please be sure to keep our cabana boys warm. Since I will have two small children and my mother in the room...I think it best to leave the cabana boys on boat!
