Hey, is everyone hiding in the corner waiting for me to pop in so they can jump out and yell, "SURPRISE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAM!!" :confused3

Cause if you are, it's not my birthday! :rotfl2: So drag your sorry butts out of lurkdom and start talking!

It's a very bleak and :umbrella: day here. :guilty: Just south of us it is snowing. :cold:

Morning all!

Rose Mary, safe travels to you!!! I hope the trip won't be too bad.

It is too bad about Karen's house... hopefully it will be an easy fix.

Wow, no halloween candy here yet, Nancy... we need to fix that actually before Monday

Green and gold glitter ones? Cool! I might have to get another red one, since that is what I use on my car now.

Lily, I'll get pics after he's grown it a while. It looks fine, but not very thick at the moment. He just needs to thicken it up before I get pics. Probably won't get any until Thanksgiving though.

Tara, well it could've been you, but you weren't the only one having issues here yesterday. Oh and sorry about the bowling!!!

Pam, haven't heard from JRKaren... a bit concerned now with the health issues she had. Oh and sorry I was up doing things but not at my computer... though I am about to get up again to do a few more things...
but don't you dare say that "S" word! I do admit, we have some in the forecast here soon :(

Good morning, Ya Ya Family! Rainy and dreary here, but certainly not anywhere near as bad as Florida has been of late. No snow, either, thank goodness. Temps quite :cold: though, it's only 46º this morning. Gotta find me something warmer than my hoodie.

Good luck with work, RM. So sad and depressing to see all that devastation and not be able to fix it all.

 Tara, you are no more dork than I am! Not sure if that's a good thing, now that I think about it.......sorry about bowling being so suc :rotfl: ky last night. It's the magnets they have hiding in the gutters--there's a metal core in those bowling balls, ya know!!

Suzanne, so glad to hear your mom is safely moved to hospice. Still keeping that situation in my prayers. So relieved, too, that Wilma didn't wreak havoc with your area!!

Happy Birthday, Pam!! :love2: LOL!!! I know, you get time to play and the rest of us are busy. I'm looking foward to some time to play once my manager gets back from vacation!

Nancy, the "kids" look soooo cute in their Halloween outfits!! Glad the new ones arrived safely and have been warmly welcomed into the family. They are all so sweet!! Are the Spice triplets all girls?

Hey, Laine! Hope you're feeling better today. I organize in my head, too. Unfortunately, I do it in bed and keep myself awake. DUMB!!

Alan, best of luck to ya while Rebecca is in the big city. Labs are wonderful dogs and a lab/poodle mix sounds interesting. What do they call that? a Labradoodle?

Jellybean, if you're lurking, I'm leaving a
hug.gif
here for ya. Hope the testing goes well and your fears are relieved.

Time to hit the road again! Hope everyone has a great day. :grouphug:

Hi all. Sorry I have been distant. Life has been busy since I got back from Disneyland (so busy I've barely have had time to read this thread--never mind respond to it). I worked a ton of extra hours last week, and I'm finally caught up with things at work.

I'm having my biopsy today at 2:00. I'm not too too worried about it. I'm not going to get all bent out of shape about something that may turn out to be nothing (or something that is not too serious).

I had some blood work done last week, and all of the results came perfect. I'm not anemic. My blood clotting test (whatever that is) was perfect. She did a couple of other tests, and all of them have been perfect.

So, that leads me to the biopsy today. It's an office procedure, so it shouldn't be too bad or they'd be doing it in the hospital. It's not going to be pleasant though.

Also, I was wondering if we are doing a holiday exchange this year. Did I miss signups for it? Or are we not doing it? Or has no one thought of it yet? Just curious :)

I'll check in later.

JellyrollsKaren

P.S. Pam,

Pam!! :rotfl: You are correct, it is more like "when" I'm not a dork!! hehehe I try to keep it under wraps...but sometimes it gets away from me!!

It is 50 degrees here. Our weather report here today was "ugly this morning, and partly ugly this afternoon." :rotfl:

JRKaren...good luck with the biopsy this afternoon!!

gotta teach, back later!!

tara

Good morning all....wind swept rain here today - and I also heard the S word possible for later today.....

My thoughts and preyers continue to go out to those in Wilma's path. I have experienced a hurricane once in my life (in Miane if you can believe that) - have to say it was oen of the scariest things I have ever gone thru.

Suzanne - so glad that Hospice is going well - I have heard nothing but positive things about the quality of their care.

JR Karen - hugs and a prayer for your biopsy today.

Alan - loved the birthday pics and thanks for sharing the guide dog site - I saved it so that I can look at it in detail - will probaby send to Alyssa too I know she will be interested.

Pam - happy birthday - if it is your birthday .....or maybe just a weak plea for cake?????

Elaine, Nancy, Beth, Rosemary, Tara.....  :grouphug:

Got Chris' phone yesterday - Motorola razer - top of the line....of course since we didn't have insurance on the last one he had to pay full price :scared1: can't even type the $$ it's too outrageous...but - he had the money saved - got insurance on this one too.
Speaking of Chris - things are better - I am wondering if it has to do with me managing his meds - I don['t think he was taking them consistently before - he is now talking - even brought a friend home for supper last night!! I'm not complaining.

I have an eye doctors appt this morning and then maybe putting up fall decorations - it's not too late is it???????

More later...hugs to all......

Good morning.

Safe travels, RM.
Hope things aren't too bad with Karen and family.

JRKaren...good luck today. Hope those perfect scores continue.
Working on plans for the holiday exchange now :) Probably will start early Nov.

Sorry no one was around to play with you again, Pam. You gotta stop bringing the snacks!!
I signed off early to watch TV

Elaine, Halloween candy came from an exchange ;) Come eat it please. I am not opening the bags.....as long as they stay closed, I am safe :teeth:

Beth, the Spice bears are 2 girls and one boy. The 2 girls are tiny. The BaB clothes are a bit big for them.
Hope that manager gets back soon, so you can slow down.

:wave2: Tara, Paula and everyone else.

Practically perfect in every way. Are you certain that you aren't Mary Poppins???

Congrats on the good news. Good thoughts and prayers for continued good medical results. Gotta love those tests. Hope you get an A+.

Just checked out temp....42 :cold: But 67 in the house. We still haven't turned the heat on.....very unusual.

Headed for errands and the dentist today.

Forgot to mention....I'm always around at night till at least 11pm but not on DIS - my work system can't handle both I guess....

Anyway - I'm on Yahoo and AIM messenger - if anyone wants my screen name just PM me.

p.s. - no halloween candy here....too far from the road - no one comes!!

No one comes here either, Paula :( I sure miss it. We moved here from a neighborhood and had about 150-200 kids......Dave dressed up and scared them :teeth:

Hi all, ran errands this morning. Nothing big, just getting a cake box for when I make a cake for my dad and some cat stuff. Was trying to find a cheap way to get gold jewelry for the Jasmine costume, but I think I will wind up empty handed for that. Oh well.

Bethie, I looked and the temp was about 38° this morning... I know I saw a teeny flake or two when I was out. I hate this kind of weather!

Karen, good luck with the biopsy today! I hope all goes well, and I hope work slows down some for you.

Tara, I love the forecast there... partly ugly :teeth:

Paula, I've seen the Razors... so I can guess how much that cost ;) But I am so glad to hear the good news with Chris! I am glad things are looking up for him!

LOL, Nancy, I don't want to eat the candy... I have enough junk food around the house to keep me more than satisfied :rotfl:

We dont' get much along the ways of Trick or Treaters either. It has grown in the last years though. We are usually very generous to those we give to because of that :)

Chilly... need to find my wool sweater...

Hi Ya Yas!

Karen, you have a great attitude about it for sure. (Take your Tylenol though)

Say it isn't so, not the "s"-word. :earseek: Not ready for that yet.

Paula, glad things are looking better. The Razor is so nice. I don't have one with the service we are on...Verizon doesn't provide them.

No Trick or Treaters here either. So what's that got to do with not having candy! I can celebrate!

I got one of those little bags for Halloween from BaB for the BaB babies here and I'm giving candy to them! DS's GF BaB will get one and Mom's Twyla Sue will too. I get the leftovers!

Beth, enjoy your day. Don't hit the road too hard or Pam will come after you!

Tara, if you had a bad bowling day, I think it only fair that everyone else there did too. Must be the alley oil.

Pam, look out for Beth...she's hitting the road!
:rotfl:
Later...

Lily......

Elaine - what kind of cake are you making?

Nancy - any cookies this week??

John :wave2:

I went to the eye doctor this morning - 1/2 way thru the exam the power went out - so he didn't charge me!! Just made an appt for next year!!!

Got a text message from Alyssa - she got an A+ on her first paper - Survey of Race and Culture class!!! She's so excited. And the package I sent to her arrived today (halloween card - starbucks gift card and small box of Godiva) - so it's a good day all around.....

More later.......

Afternoon gang,

I really need to get over this hump about not wanting to be at work! I would really prefer to be at home scrapping or stitching (notice I didn't mention having the kids around :teeth: ) . That's the worst part of having my kids home and not in a daycare place. If I play hookie, I still have to have the kids home...can't drop them at school and pretend I'm going to work!! hehehe

Nothing new here. Supposed to have a visit form the big wigs from downtown but I doubt they are coming to my humble little classroom. They want soemthign exciting! Now if they come to my last class of the day...that will be exciting!

Oh, don't forget to check out the DL trip reports. JRK is posting her trip reports!! I think we need to do a heavy cheetohing to the crabs at the Disneyland hotel!!

gotta run and see if there are any new mysteriously missing disers :teeth:
tara

Race and culture?

There's all sorts of culture and most NASCAR events! (But somehow I don't suspect that was the topic) :)

Suzanne, for all you are going through. BTW, Mrs. AA and I did raise a puppy (Foster parents for 10 mos. - 1 year) for another guide dog school years ago. It was easier giving her up since we understood the finished product, but that doesn't mean it was that easy.

And now for the update:

Rebecca has a female poodle/lab cross (Yes, we do call them labradoodles) named Pilot. She is probably just over 50 lbs., and still seems to have a lot of "puppy" in her. :teeth:

Pilot is a chewer (loves chew toys and her leash too  ) She has an emotive lab tail (previous two dogs were Australian Shepherds - little to no tail) and drinks like a lab :) Slurrrp...slurrrp..drip, drip

No idea when she'll be able to get me a pic, but I'll share when she does.

I'm home from my test. It's not the most exciting thing I've ever done in my life. Hopefully she got a good sample. She thinks she did. She said she may have the results by Friday, but most likely I won't hear until next Tuesday.

Karen

Lily, trust me, I am so not ready for that white stuff yet!!! I still want it to be 70 and warm ;)

Paula, congrats to Alyssa! That's great! And woo hoo for a free eye exam :teeth:

Thanks Tara, I had no idea JRKaren was posting them!!! I want to hear how her trip went ::yes::
And I don't blame you... can you go hide away at a quiet place all day? Maybe a library where you don't have to hear much!

Alan, can't wait to see pics of the pup :) And you do know that up North there is more to race and culture than NASCAR :p

Karen, glad that all went well so far. I hope you get good results from your test!

Just showered and might start folding some laundry... just staying warm right now. After I went out to run errands I had a hard time warming up.

NASCAR and culture....interesting concept.....

JR Karen - glad the testing is done - sending good thoughts your way.

Elaine - stay warm!!

I'm drinking rose herbal tea!!

Paula, I forgot to say, I am baking a yellow cake with chocolate icing. Request for my dad :)
